I am almost 9 weeks and am having some spotting today. We know from early u/s that there was a twin that didn't develop, and there was fluid above my cervix. I was told that there might be some spotting because of that, but it hasn't happened until now, and of course I am terrified about whether the other baby is okay or not. My cervix feels a bit lower than it did before, but there's no heavy bleeding at this point. I wish it weren't the weekend. The anxiety before I can get in and get seen is going to kill me.

:hug I know how hard it is not to worry. Spotting, even bleeding is OK as long as it's not accompanied by cramping. I had three episodes of spotting and everything turned out fine. :)

Hi there,
It almost would be strange if you did not have some spotting considering
your circumstances. I had some with my firstborn between 8-9 weeks due to some clots that hadn't passed after a miscarraige a couple of months before.
I had some menstrual-like cramping, bright red bleeding and clots. I was sure that I would have bad news but everything was fine. While I know there are no guarantees, spotting can happen & often does in a normal pregnancy. For your own peace of mind take it easy, drinks lots of water and relax as best you can. I hope you can get some reassurance soon,
Take care,

Thank you both for taking the time to respond. It's really hard to post something scary and not get any feedback. I'm grateful, and you've given me some encouragement to make it through to my next u/s on Monday morning.

Rachel...
Hang in there, I know it's hard to wait.
I'm also in the October DDC and had some light brown spotting this week, starting on Monday, which is weeks 8-9 for us. I was really scared.
I started researching spotting here on MDC and on the web and it seems that it's fairly common and as long as it's not accompanied by cramping or pain.
Had an u/s and saw the little bean and it's heart beating strong and steady. The u/s tech was very very thorough and checked everything to see if there was anything that could have caused the bleeding and there was nothing. I have a very small cyst on my cervix and since the vascularity of the cervix is increasing so much during this time, he guessed that it might have been that.
I'm a bit anxious every time I go to the bathroom and wipe, I'm still having some really really light spotting (still very brown) and I've been drinking water and took it a bit easier this week.
Best of luck to you, mama, and it sounds like there are very clear reasons why you're spotting, given your history with this pregnancy. Hugs to you, and hang in there until Monday.

Just wanted to lend my support and :hug
and let you know that I spotted all through the first trimester with Abigail, and she turned out fine (though I thought I was going to lose my mind!)

Thanks for all the support! I had an ultrasound this morning, and it showed a healthy, wiggling baby with a wonderful heart rate! I'm so relieved and grateful. YAY!!!
