TMI, but can I get a quick answer here? I can't remember when your body starts forming the mucus plug. I'll hit 5 weeks tomorrow and already I've got the discharge I remember from my first pregnancy. I can't remember when I started with that one, but I :scratch seem to think it was later...? Am I crazy? :bag:

I'm glad you asked that. DH and I were wondering the same thing this morning.

I thought the mucous plug began forming the moment you conceive? Doesn't it do that to keep other sperm out? Hmm, perhaps we'll have to look it up! I did have the all too familiar discharge appear several days before my pg test showed positive, it was one of my 1st symptoms.

On another PG tracking board I'm on, it said that this week (6 weeks pg, 4 weeks since conception) is when the mucous was gathering to form the mucous plug. So I think if your 5 weeks since LMP, then you have one more week to go.

Zjande I think what you may be talking about is that the egg forms a hard shell the moment it is fertilized to keep other sperm from entering it. I think sperm can continue to enter the uterus until much later, but it won't do any good because the egg is already protected.
