I went to emergency last night due to the bad sharp stabbing pains I have been having. The doctor did an internal and it was VERY sore. I got blood drawn to check to make sure I was still pregnant (not sure why they didn't check my levels). So after waiting 2 hours at that hospital they sent me to another to see a specialist. I got to the other hospital and waited 45 minutes and some lady came in to draw my blood to see if I was RH negative or positive. They also checked my levels but wouldn't tell me what they were at. After that I had an u/s done. I am supposed to be 6 1/2 weeks from what the tech could see I would be late 4 weeks. There was no heartbeat (not sure if that is unusual for late 4 weeks). So now I wait for to see if baby grows or if baby is not alive. I'm confused as to how my dates could 2 1/2 weeks off. That would mean I would have conceived when my period was due. Just doesn't make sense to me. I'm doing okay. I figure whatever happens happens, there's nothing I can do to change it. I got a call later My levels are 30,000 which suggests a 9 week pregnancy but baby measures 5 weeks. I go back for a blood test tommorow and u/s BY this weekend.

What an emotional up and down! Take care of yourself in the meantime. The waiting is the hardest part of this first trimester. I'm sending you lots of good luck!

I wouldn't necessarily worry about the dates- from charting, I know I've had cycles where I've ovulated late in the cycle either because of illness or other stresses mid-cycle. I think your hormones try to increase the likelihood of pregnancy by delaying ovulation until you're feeling better again- and no, at 4/5 weeks you wouldn't get a heartbeat.

Angela,
That's so agonizingly slow! I'm thinking of you! It looks like our firstborns were born on the same day.

What a scary time! :) Strange that the nurse had it so far off at the first u/s. :) Was it a transvaginal? If not that completely explains it. :) Glad to hear the good news update!

the first was a vaginal u/s but the 2nd was just a belly one.
