They have a segment coming up about BFIng and the caption read "Is bottle better?"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll be back after its on.

OK well it wasnt too bad. They talked about the new reommendations of no solids till 6 months, but he did say to BF at least till 6 months and 'up to 2 years'. But he said how BF babies do better, etc. So it wasnt pro-extended BFing but at least it was pro-BFing in general in case pregnant moms are watching ....

Don't answer that- I think we all know. :moon

The people that create the "news" know that the American attention span is short. The little teaser "Is bottle better?" will be remembered longer by most people and will translate into doubt about breastfeeding. They will begin to tell themselves (because human memory is incredibly selective) that they did hear on the news that bottle is better. Fox news selected that promo intentionally to override the impact of their piece... Well, gee, I didn't mean to be cynical or anything!

I didn't see the piece so I can't comment on what they were implying about up to two years but many people do seem to misread the recommendations as maximums rather than minimums or just comments. I know the new AAP recs said as late as three years or beyond was not harmful. I think sometimes people just misread stuff. In any event I fail to see why they should be accused of having a specifically anti-Bfing agenda whether you disagree with Fox News' conservative approach or not.

Yeah he did say "up to two years" which is unfortunate, but the piece was overall very pro-BF and he said how BF babes do so much better. I was pretty happy to see a pro BF segment even if it wasnt perfect.

I looked for a link on their website but couldn't find the story. Is it up on their website, or was it one of those stories that is only on TV?
