I was thinking, maybe we should have a daily thread to share our Wahoos and Wails and just general chat? We have enough people now, that it might be getting harder to keep track of just getting to know each other?

Let's try it out?

Hi, I'm Claire. I have two other kiddos... Jude 3 and Cicely jsut turned one. This baby is a surprise, but we're really so happy at this point. :)

So, today is beautiful here in Michigan. It's sunny and fairly warm. I love it! I have grading to do (I teach Jr. College) and I need to get in a walk today. It's just too nice!

The kids and I are having a dance party right now and I told them one song of me sitting here, so I'm goign to have to dance some more. Can hardly wait to hear what's going on with you all today! :)

Wail: Jude wants to meet the new baby NOW (he overheard us talking and figured out a baby was coming) and gets really upset
Wahoo: He pretends to give birth.

Wail: Nothing fits me
Wahoo: I have clothes from the sale at www.japaneseweekend.com on the way. :drool (I ordered them on Saturday... yes 1 day after finding out I was pregnant... but I LOVE their pants and they're the fall/winter stuff now... I actually tried to cancel the order after all the medical stuff happened, but they'd gone out... so I think I'll have to keep them! :demon)

Wail: I have 2 sets of tests, 1 set of 4 pg papers, and 1 set of speeches to grade
Wahoo: My DH is off of work today & I'm going to go to the coffee shop when the kids are in bed.

Wail: My neck still hurts
Wahoo: It's NOTHING like it was before. (I was in the ER last sunday)

Wail: Have to go back to work this week.
Wahoo: I LOVE my students.

Good idea! I'm glad your neck is feeling better, Claire!

I'm Jen, SAHM to Julia who turned 2 in November. I babysit my nephew who is also 2, and on occasion I have my cousin's one year old, so my days can be pretty hectic sometimes. I love to knit and have recently been trying to teach myself how to crochet, but it hasn't been going so well. I've been spending a lot of time lately looking for new recipes, since we have gotten a little bit away from natural foods and I'm trying to get us back on track (and just in time, it seems)

This baby was very much planned (we have been trying for 6 months) and I was going to try clomid next month if this month didn't work out for us.

Julia is still doing some mini-nursing sessions (usually 2-3 times a day) and I wonder if she is going to give it up now that I am pg. I'm sure I don't have much of a supply left anyway.

wail- I've decided that there is WAY too much clutter in the house
wahoo- maybe now I will be able to wade through it all before December :)

Hi, Jen! :wave (hope that was the right smilie!)

Cicely (1 yr) is an avid nurser. Seems like we have a lot of nursing mamas here. 2-3 times a day... hmm, seems like Julia might go either way! You never know. Unless you have strong feelings against it, she might just continue or she might not. Gosh, that was clear information! :LOL

Mmm, food. I'm hungry right now. Here's my newer favorite easy/nutritious recipe:
Take a Polenta loaf (They sell then at health food stores and Trader Joes' etc) It's not refrigerated and already done.
Slice the loaf into 1/4 thick circles.
Fry in olive oil
Then, arrange in a baking dish. Top with tomato sauce, veggies, cheese and italian seasoning.
Bake at 375 until golden brown. YUM!

What's your new favorite recipe?

:LOL Love your Wail/Wahoo!

Wow... I was looking at your website and you have some great stuff! I love the eggplant baby and the felted food.

I started to suspect I was pregnant when I came across this recipe and absolutely had to have it... like I was obsessed about it. I haven't made it yet, but have all the stuff in my pantry. Maybe for tomorrow night's dinner.

The polenta sounds really yummy. It has been so long since I have bought polenta. Thanks for reminding me that it is out there!

Moment of M/S here. I just officially threw up for the first time. :sick

Oh, that reminds me... could we all avoid the : puke smilie? You know, it's the one where vomit actually comes out of its mouth. That's not nice to look at while feeling sick.

Jen, I'll have to check out your recipe.

Wail: I just threw up.
Wahoo: Jason gives wonderful sympathy.

Hi, I'm Michele and DS Rowan just turned 2 on 3/24. he still nurses quite a bit and is showing no signs of stopping any time soon. I feel ok with that. :) I'm a 5th year doctoral student in human development and education policy (working on my dissertation...sorta) and i'm teaching 1 undergraduate class this semester.

wail: our gutters suck so much that the torrential downpour we had started to flood our basement family room, which now smells musty and is soggy.
wahoo: we just arranged for new gutters to be put in this week and we're getting all new windows too!!!

wail: i'm so unprepared for class tomorrow, it's gonna be interesting.
wahoo: my students are complex and articulate and i'm sure they'll make it intersting even if i don't!

wail: i'm friggin starving ALL THE TIME
wahoo: i just found out that my local grocery store DELIVERS!!!!!!!

that's it for now!

Spark - i'm sorry about the puke!!! :(

Michelle, I'd love to hear more about your dissertation research!

Yeah for grocery delivery. We used to use WebVan all the time.
