Roll call?
I know Alvenchrst is the founding member. Maybe you can be president.
I'm a card carrying member as of tonight.
Anyone else?
Oh, and no : puke smilies, please. :bag: It makes me feel like joining the smilie.

Oh I'm so sorry Spark! That's no fun. How far along are you now? I know I puked at 3 weeks. Yuck, no fun.
Sure i'll be your president :) I at least feel more relieved about having a misscarrage every time I feel like puking. I'm at the point now where eating doesn't help the nausia, it's ALL DAY LONG! Usually eating has helped, but it isn't helping and things are not starting to sound good at all, I hate that. I also am really nausiated by meat, especially when it's cooking. I have so been craving tofu, i love in sauted (sp?) in sesame oil and in stir fry or in salad.

Ignoring your food comments right now. But, i'll talk about them later.
How are you counting 3 weeks from conception/ 5 weeks from LMP? If so, I'm... doing math, today my period is a week late... so 3 weeks! What do ya know! Maybe it's a thing with us.
So, are you still feeling twin vibes, oh, President you? Sometimes I just want run out and get an U/S so I don't have to wonder this time around. ug. I feel like I talk myself into it so easily. The last two pregnancies with twins/not twins was enough to drive me batty. I'm so OVER twins! :LOL And, yet I fantasize about that early U/S that I've never had before. :LOL
Ok, so this is my Puke Club Entry Letter:
Dear Puke Club President,
I have been nauseaus on and off for a little over a week now. Gradually it's been lasting longer and longer. So far I've had success in holding off my puke with a protien smoothie, but it just didn't work tonight. I was hoping the protein was my silver bullet. No such luck. I fear that things will get worse as they have in previous pregnancies. I pray that I get at least some time each day where I feel well. With my DS I lost about 20lbs the first trimester. With my DD I had breaks in my M/S and I lost 6 lbs. I'm hoping to go the easier route this time too.
Do you consider a gender difference with your M/S, too? How was it with your DS?
Thank you for the club. Nice to know we'er amongst bad-breath-running-to the-nearest-recepticle friends.

Claire, OMG, ROTFLOL    :LOL :LOL :LOL . That was great . . .
uh, ya, i'm counting 5 weeks from LMP (w'ell not really, my adjust LMP based on my TTC chart), so today I am 5 weeks so that would be 3 weeks from conception, ur, did that make sense? So yeah we sound to be at the same time frame, lucky us. :)
Um yeah, I was so bad about obsessing over getting on U/S that I considered faking severe cramps to get in and get one, is that bad or what, i know, I'm sick. Then i found at that usually you can't find out twins till 6 week anyway, which is my first appointment, so I calmed my slef down and decided to wait. :shy It's like first i had to obess about TTC, now twins, what's next! I supose I'm still feeln' the twins vibe, although I'm thinking if not twins, definentally girl. My preg. with DS was SOOOOOOOO easy it took be forever to feel pregnant and this time it's hitting me like a truck. So much earlier by a couple of months I feel all these weird pregnancy things. Who knows, we'll find out eventually. :)
Um, not sure you want to hear, this, it's somewhat like the puking icon, but the very worse is dry heaving. Uggg. I can't believe you lost so much weight, sound like you had hyper-emisis (not sure on the spelling) but it basically mean you are an overactive puker, and they can give you meds for that if you are interested. My SIL who is already very skinny lost a ton of weight and had to be hospitalized.
All I have to say to my Puke clubbers is don't forget to drink your water!

Dear Ashley,
I can't hang around you anymore. My Butter Bean says that you're a bad infuence. Trust me when I say, quelching your Twin vibes early is a good thing. I think it's much better to be pregnant than pregnant with twins until proven otherwise... that said, look what I found at an Ectopic Pregnancy site...
"G.P's and hospital doctors may have difficulty reaching a diagnosis because trouble may occur almost immediately you are pregnant (3 weeks) up to 12 weeks or even later. There are many other causes of lower tummy pain."
Oh, Gosh! Do you see, do you see? You're trouble for me. I said I wasn't EVER going to wonder about twins this time... and you're making it catch for me.
See you in Life With A Babe,
Claire

:LOL Just kidding. But let me tell you in my last pregnancy, Oh, I measured FAR ahead, and it kept growing exponentially until I was 12 weeks ahead at one point! 12 weeks! In the U/S of Cicely's profile, there was a face looking right on. There were so so so many things!!! And, it was just one baby. It was so weird living in this world of wondering about twins for oh... 8 months! Ug. I wouldn't recommend it. Unless of course you can happily wonder for 20 weeks of pregnancy and then not have anything weird happen (assuming you'll get an U/S at 20 wks). I'd like for you to have twins. Really, I vote for you! :D
Personally, I think they'd be SO much work. It was really pretty daunting the last time. It was like excitement and Holy $hit! all at the same time.
Alright, back to previously scheduled topic... with my DS I don't think it would have been considered hypermesis, because I never threw up. I just couldn't eat. I'd gag, but there was nothing in my belly anyway. I had no appetite, just constant nausea 24/7.
Satori... Ok, ok! You're not a member! :LOL You just watch though, pretty soon this thread will be hoppin'! When all the popular kids are doing it, you'll want in! :wink

Nothing's come up, but I've had a few episodes after poopy diaper changes and washing dishes.
The odd thing is that I can get through the poopy diaper, spray it off and everything, I tend to heave when I'm washing my hands. :scratch
The pukey smilie sends me close to the edge when not pregnant. IMNSHO, It needs to be banned from due date clubs.

5 times in 3 HOURS!!!!! :yikes:
Goefizz, i'm with you on the poopy diapers and dishes, ugh, it so dicusts me! I made DH change DS poopy this morning, it was like pulling teeth to get him to do it, but I was like, it has to be done, either you change him now, or you'll have two messes to clean up! Bring out the clothes pins for my nose!
I'm having all sorts of other GREAT symptoms too:
Constipation
Sore breast
Metal mouth (that's a weird one)
cramps
bloating
Cravings (tofu and soy sauce)
Aversions (meat)
Insomnia, ugh as if I wasn't already tired enough!
Incredible thirst
Acne, great, now I look like a tean ager again
Hypersensitive smelling ability, or whatever
Claire, oh no, please no votes for twins. :) It would be fun, but I prefer to love my newborns one at a time :) We really shouldn't even talk about it anymore, oh, should I add obsessive to my list? I'm getting hopefully an 8 wk and 20 wk U/S so at least I will no one way or the other before I give birth. I keep think, well maybe it's a girl, wouldn't that be great, I even had a very vivid dream of giving birth to a girl last nigh . . . hopefully.

This is a pregnancy symptom? OMG, I've had that in spades since about 6-7 dpo! I even got myself a toothbrush and toothpaste at work so I could brush my teeth 16 times a day. I had no idea this was a preg symptom. I'd thought I'd gotten a cavity.
Anyone know what causes this?
Alvenchrst
04-04-2005, 03:52 PM
Becca I agree with Claire, it may just be too soon. Many women have harly no symptoms at all and go on to deliever prefectly healthy babies. I think we all worry about the health of our babies at this point, that's completely normal. :)
Geofizz, haha, so glad to shead some light for you, it is weird isn't it. Everything I've ever read says they don't know why. Maybe someone else has better ideas.

Alright, so I discovered soemthing I think important to share with other card carrying "I Puked" memebers. Today while at school, I vomited 3 times. Thanks for the tip, Claire. I actually ducked out of a faculty meeting to go visit the bathroom. I didn't puke, but it was close. Good thing, too, since there were several other people in the bathroom at the time. I was going to post asking for tips on discrete puking at work.
My tip of the day: Don't sit between the cookie tray and the trash during a faculty meeting, and make sure that the two smokers in the department don't sit next to you.

Whew, so I've been on a roll today. I've been puking since 4... before I wanted to wake up! It's like once I get started I just can't stop. Sometimes it's every 10 minutes or every 3 minutes. And, then sometimes I can last about 20. But, I just can't stop it till mid-day. I need to go hang out in the bathroom some more.
I'm just wondernig, what's with the whole constant puke thing? Aren't I supposed to get longer breaks???

Oh, Claire, your body needs a break!
I'm assuming you're using all the anti-puke tricks? Ginger? Pressure points? Teeny tiny bites and sips? Protein?

Here's the thing, Jen, every time I see a post here I get all excited like... ooh! I'm not the only one! Then... it's just a let down with "I'm nauseas does that count?" or "I don't want to be a member." Well, it just makes me want to say something gross in hopes of making EVERYONE join my club. I'll call it "mine" because I don't think Alvenchrst has puked for a while.
I'm like the lone club member at this point. SURELY someone will puke. SURELY! Right???
Alright, since this is the I Puked Club... and as president/vice president/secretary/enrollment supervisor I'll give you all lurking an update on my puke situation. (don't worry nothing too gross)
So, I've been having reprieves in the mid-day. Like from 1-4 I'll feel like my old self... just give me a nap and I'm the same person I was 6 weeks ago. But, today my reprieve didn't come until 5pm. That was awful. Yuck. I like my midday reprieve. I NEED IT!
My husband did a puke count for me the other morning. I hit 10 bathroom trips in 1.5 hours. I think that's pretty impressive if I do say so myself. Not bad, considering in my two other pregnancies (both with really different types of M/S) I really only threw up maybe 4 times.
So, what the heck do you think it up with this little Butter Bean? Why NOW do I puke so much? Different hormones? Maybe I'm pregnant with an alien? A cute one of course, not one with tentacles, maybe testicles but not tentacles. My M/S with my son was worse than with my DD, so I was thinking this must be a boy again, but then the Chinese Gender Predictor (right on my other babies) predicts girl. So, I'll choose to believe that. So... a cute girl alien baby?

Maybe you are going to puke early and often and be finished with it all by the time it hits the rest of the group. Don't worry, I'm sure you will have plenty of company here soon.

Ok, so dehydration. I've been stockpiling my drinking when I feel better. Ok so this is what I've eaten today (from 7-3):

Started listening to the CD as soon as I got it. I haven't listened to it 3 times yet. Hoping to get that 3rd time in today.
Still going to class. I just puke before, maybe a couple times during... off in that bathroom thank goodness!, and then I puke before getting into the car. Puke, puke, puke.
I'm just tired. :zzz And, feeling MIA from the boards and from life.

Oh Claire, I feel terrible for you. I have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old too, and can't imagine what it'd be like trying to take care of them while vomiting so much.
Next week will be my week, I'm sure. I'm almost 6 weeks, and that's usually when it starts.

I am hereby submitting a petition to quit this lousy club.
I will be awaiting a vote of the membership.

claire - have you tried Zofran? my friends swear by it and say that it's the ONLY thing that keeps the pukeys at bay. i don't know how you feel about prescription meds, but i figured i'd throw it out there...

Today is 7 weeks 4 days and I just threw up today. Last pregnancy I didn't throw up until like 14 weeks.

Okay - cleaning up a serving of peas that your DC just puked all over the place himself is a really, really bad idea.

I officially joined as of yesterday. With ds it hit right exactly at 6 weeks and lasted until I was 5 months! I hope not again!

welcome Desiree! :)
Claire must not be doing much better. :( I was really hoping the CD would come through!
I haven't joined the club yet. I'm hoping, praying, and trying to think positively - I just can't imagine taking care of my clingy kids and feeling sick. UGH.

I have the distinct feeling I will be a member by tomorrow... :( yesterday I felt fine, today i'm trying really really hard not to puke :( Even just coughing is making me want to throw up.

Satori, please edit your post to remove the : puke smilie. It makes us want to join the smilie, and Claire asked it not to be used in this thread.
I hope you get through this easier than I am!
Claire, I see you haven't been around for several days. :hug I hope you are getting some help through this.
I seem to be getting close to "senior member" status of this club. :(

I'm here. Just tired. We went to NC (kids, me and my mom). It was lots of fun, but really a bit too much. I'd collapse in bed in our hotel room.
The CD is :thumb very nice. I'm down to only puking 2-4 times a day.
Sorry we have so many new members and Wendy... approaching senior status. Oh, no. I'll have to come up with a new imaginary gift basket.
Ok, I need to go through my 115 e-mails in my personal folder and then the 200 in my other folders. Ug. It's just too much. One thing at a time. I'll be back to post again. I just need to get caught up on things.
Much love.

Hey, Claire, we just came back from NC for a long weekend too! It was DH's 10-year class reunion. I was super-impressed at all the nursing mamas I saw!
Hope the CD gets you down even further!

Thanks Satori!
Claire, I'm glad to hear you had a good weekend and the CD is actually starting to work.
We had a very pukeful night here, but this time it wasn't me. DD brought something nasty home from daycare and started puking every 15-20 minutes at about 10 pm last night. She's napping in my lap on a towel. She's still at it, but so exhausted she refuses to use the puke bucket. We've already done 4 loads of laundry and there's more to do. Poor girl. DH is a saint. He did a ton of clean up last night while I cuddled DD and caught what I could. In all of that, I only lost it once.

Wendy, I'm sorry your little girl is so sick - I hope she's feeling better soon!

Thanks Heather. Somehow 15 hours of puking from my little one is a whole lot worse than weeks of puking from me.
She ate 1/2 a tortilla about 30 minutes ago and passed out. I haven't seen the tortilla yet, so we might be on the up swing now.

I went through this with my little one a few weeks ago....horrible, absolutely horrible.....I never thought I would wish for vomiting and diarrhea, but if I could have taken it away from my baby I gladly would have. Good luck!!
