View Full Version : How am I going to keep this quiet?

My DH and I really didn't want to tell anyone about this pgcy until after I've been to the doctor, at 10 weeks (he'd rather wait longer, but is okay with telling then). But how am I supposed to keep this quiet? I'm 6 weeks today and I think I'm already bigger than I was at the end of my first tri with DS. (maybe it's twins :LOL )
I have a few stretchy outfits that I can wear to work for a bit without breaking out the maternity clothes - but everyone here wears jeans of Friday, and that just isn't happening. I really don't know how everyone isn't going to guess in another week or two!

Long shirts.
I actually had the best luck with long button down shirts. I think the row of buttons mask the pooch.
Do they have to be blue jeans or just "blue jeans in spirit"? Can you wear something else a bit relaxed instead like yoga pants?

long shirts I can do. buttons - well, let's just say that although DS is no longer nursing, I am no smaller than I was at that point. I've yet to find a button-down shirt that doesn't expose half of me. :LOL
I'll probably try yoga pants and see if anyone says anything...or maybe the old "rubber band through the jeans" trick...

:nod .... for which you need a long shirt.
As of today, my belt is just for show.

I feel like I need to update with another belly shot. There is NO hiding at this point. I either have a 4th stage tumor or a baby on the way.
Good luck hiding. Remember... if they just notice... what the heck does your DH have to say about it!?!?

wow... so I guess you really do show faster with your second!
I looked pg with Julia before the end of my first trimester, so I'm wondering how early I will show this time. My boobs got huge last time... I remember that happening before anything.

I know a lot of nursing moms actually report that their breast size seems to decrease. Theoretcially because they're bigger than pre-pregnancy already and then with possible drop in supply.
And, yeah, I seem to shave about 2 weeks off for showing with each pregnancy. Next time :yikes: I'll show just after ejaculation.

I went back to a prepreg job bra this weekend. Actually a few days before I thought to test, DH mentioned that all of a sudden my boobs seemed smaller. Thanks, dear.

What about the 5th kid? Could you predict the month you'll get pg by when you start to show right after your period?

I was wondering about that! Thanks, Spark! My dd shows no signs of letting up with the nursing either so I wonder what will happen when the milk changes?

Big secret! stretch jeans! I LOVE my Gloria Vanderbilt stretch denim jeans and the waist stretches out several inches and I think I'll be buying these (http://www.motherhood.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=61331300&category_Name=all%2Daround+belly&Category_Id=1300&MasterCategory_Id=4) once I outgrow my jeans :)
