Anyone else with atomic titties?

Sorry, I couldn't resist! That was what they called them in a book I was reading the other night and I'm still cracking up! dd latched on last night when I was half asleep and I literally screamed it was so painful. I guess I better drag out the pump and get busy so I will have a bottle ready when the little one arrives incase we need it before they get worse and the milk dries up. Last time my milk was nearly gone by 7 weeks.

For those wondering, I wanted milk ready in case the morons at the hospital decide the little bean needs to eat before I can feed him/her. They gave her formula and it literally ripped her stomach to shreds and I didn't see her skin for about 6 weeks because of the eczema.

They gave her formula without asking you??? I would have thrown a major fit to someone important at the hospital.

I had clear instructions that no nipples of any kind (other than my own) were to be used. I kep her in my room 99% of the time anyway, so they didn't have much of a chance to get at her.

Its common to give them formula without asking. I was very clear about my wishes and even had it in writing and they still gave it to her within a hour of birth and it was not medically needed. I didn't get to see her till her was a day old and even then it was a fight because I could only have her in my room if someone was with me because I was so drugged up from complications they were worried I would roll over on her (it had happened within a few days of my arriving with another patient and the baby died) or drop her which was a valid concern, I couldn't even sit up on my own and could barely see my vision was so blurry. Praying for a better birth this time!
