Just wanted to say how great my boys are

I just wanted to mention how great my boys were yesterday. We are always complaining about our teens but how about a big compliment.
They were so courteous and actually talkative.We had 17 people here for Christmas dinner and our 5 kids did so well. it wasn't stressful at all.
It amazes me how one minute they can be such civilized boys and the next they appear to be from another planet. Only one of the kids complained about the quality of his gift. It hurt my dh feelings but I think he handled it well.
That's all I wanted to say.Not anything spectacular just that our teens need a good word now and then.

My family came to visit us,22 all together,11 adults & 11 kids.Thank goodness everyone got along well.It was only for 3 hours.My 13 year old was great !

Isn't it amazing how our parenting has rubbed off on them? Even when at home they keep testing the limits, you look at them in front of others and think "Oh yes, they do get it.." I also find it (sometimes) quite a compliment that they have the courage to try out new and shall we say interesting behaviours at home, on us, where it's safest?
You're right, teenagers deserve much more respect than they are sometimes afforded.
