Ok it was a gift but we went over a little bit ($100 of our $) so I am a little obsessed because there are some features I dont think we will use. But to get the model down or to spend less we would lose the energy star feature. If we keep it 10 years it will save us $80 in electricity based on today's rates.
But I keep thinking I dont need the rapid ice function or the slide out shelves.

It is so much bigger than our old fridge which was 9 years old- but it will cost the same to operate ( I compared the energyguide tags). The kids are going to love the filtered water.

Sorry to get so :)

Well, there is an ice cream shelf for it! Guess it gets its own shelf!
Come on over & have some ( but DH does not have it installed yet) :(

Okay, if it will save you $80 (in today's rates and rates only seem to go up, up, up) that means you are "really" only spending $20 for what sounds like several features over the next ten years. Seems like cheap entertainment to me.

I'm really one, though, that thinks when you are already spending a ton of $$$ might as well get *exactly* what you want. Seems like a better use of money.

Enjoy that fridge and stock up on the ice cream!
