My daughter's Waldorf school is having a spring festival/fun faire this weekend ad the school has asked parents to make some little toys and such to provide as "prizes" that the children can "shop" for during the faire. I was told that these items should in essence be small trinkets, and was provided the example of small wool beads or balls. I've made some felted wool balls and gnomes, but I was looking for variety and something that I can do quickly.

I'm fairly crafty. I can sew some (but don't have a machine). I can felt wool, crochet, I'm a wizard with a glue gun :thumb, etc. So do any of you have some easy fun ideas that I can whip up within the next day or so?

TIA!

What about wool beads?

Or little pouches that you crochet for the kids to wear around their necks? I just made that up, I have NO idea if you could whip something like that up quickly. :D They just sound cute.

I've seen some cute crochet worm/snake kind of stuff for nature tables that would be fun. Or do you have sea shells that you could embellish a bit, like put a pearl in a bi-valve or something? Acorns would be cool too. Mini mushrooms from painted wood pieces available at the craft store would be nice.

I want to see pics of what you actually come up with , :LOL.

We went to a Waldorf fair last year. One trinket my daughter bought with her nut-money was a silver 'jingle' bell on a lavender silk ribbon as a necklace, very sweet. Another was a hemp bracelet... just a piece of hemp twine with one or two wooden or glass beads knotted on (these had been made by children in older grades). Her favorite, though, was the candy mouse - made of meringe (sp?) with almond ears and a licorice cord tail.

Good luck!
