It has fully kicked in for me, I think. The bathroom smells like urine all the time. Dh's breath has suddenly become intolerable. My OWN BO is suddenly intolerable. It's so disgusting. I'm afraid everyone else can smell it. I have a pretty sensitive nose normally, but this, I think I could hire myself out as a bloodhound!

I also have super sensitive smell :). I can smell burnt toast from across the room. Also, one night when we were staying at DH's grandma's house, I woke up to the pungeant smell of dog urine. I mean, it woke me up like a loud bell. Sure enough, one of her dorky dogs had freshly urinated on the hall carpet outside my *closed* bedroom door! This was before I knew I was pregnant (I was prolly 2 weeks)!

Not to be gross, or gross anyone out, but I can't stand the smell of my farts or poops...And can't stand the smell of ds's farts....
makes me sick just thinking about it...

I'm not sure. I walked by a telephone pole the other day and could really smell the tar, which is the same thing that happened with the last pregnancy. I would have to hold my breath while walking down the street. So I think I might be starting to get a super sense of smell.

omg, the smell of the diaper wipes has been making me sick all day! My dd's dirty diapers are making me sick too, but clean wipes! Wipes out of the prefabricated box. (not that they smell wonderful to begin with but geesh) Literally had me running for the bathroom today. :bag:

I got home from puppy obedience class tonight and my dh and youngest were outside in the backyard and he had sprayed some OFF bugspray on him. UGH!! The fact that he did that is a whole nother story. Anyway, the smell of it about drove me to homicide until I finally said, "Take him in and bathe that crap off NOW."
And he did, and took a bath with the little guy for over 30 minutes, giving me some needed breathing room. So I forgive him :).
Another thread I know, but, boy have I been in a rage today!

The kitchen was smelling yucky today. I'm the one who does the dishes, and the dirty dishes soaking in the sink made me want to puke! Does the bionic nose thing go away later, or does it last the whole pregnancy?? I don't know how much of this I can take! I pity dogs. They must think we're filthy animals! lol!

Mine has always gone away after the first 12 or 13 weeks or so. THank goodness.
Going to the grocery store is so hard for me. It's like all the smells are just overwhelming. The coffee (ick) and the fresh fish are the real killers. The kids love it because we go very fast past those things.
I had to go to disposable diapers for a little while too. The cloth diaper smells were doing me in. I am very sorry to do it, but oh my gosh.... :eyesroll I hope the environment can forgive me :)

Pregnancy is the only time I can get my dh to do some of the grubby work around the house. Clean the toilets, clean out the sink drain (omg barf!), the litter box, and other smelly jobs.
Now if I could only get him to stop smoking I'd be happy. :(
My nose doesn't usually kick in until later in pregnancy--around 10-12 weeks and it lasts the whole pregnancy. However, I never get sick so the smells that bother me just make me irritated, not running for the bathroom.

There's not so much that grosses me out around the house. The small boy's diapers are a little nasty first thing in the morning since that's the time he decides to do #2. Washing them out in the toilet is probably the worst part.
The grocery store, however, is a different story.
When I walk past the veggies and fruits, I want to eat them all. Even the bakery smells delicious.
However, when I walk through the candy/popcorn/nuts aisle, the sickeningly sweet candy smell makes me want to lose my lunch. The laundry detergent and dog food aisle are completely nasty.
This didn't happen last time, so it's a new experience. :)

Some things seem stronger but I think the bionic nose kicked in later for me last time. Don't remember.
Toilets and dog food seemed to be the worst.
Not the worst smelling, but the thing that makes me saddest to have the super sense is DH. I just can't stand the smell of his head (breath, ears, hair...) and if he happens to have onions... OMG! This totally went away after DD was born but it's back now. As if being intimate weren't hard enough in the first trimester!

I totally hear you on that one! My poor dh is probably tired of me telling him to get his stinky self away from me. :bag: I love the man, but my sense of smell seems to be smelling things it shouldn't be!! :LOL
