View Full Version : Chemicals in cosmetics EmsMom 06-04-2005, 12:51 PM Great, but real scary :( , article in Co-op America's RealMoney: Please read this! http://www.coopamerica.org/pubs/realmoney/articles/cosmetics.cfm treehugginmama 06-04-2005, 01:08 PM Yuck Glad I only use the natural stuff. Gunter 06-08-2005, 02:22 PM Thanks for the link. I read it and sent it to my MIL who runs a salon. I was surprised that more organic companies were not listed like Nature's Gate, etc... gotmilkmama 06-08-2005, 04:11 PM Awesome link. Just what I was looking for. Thanks!! :thumb peekyboo 06-08-2005, 05:57 PM Now I'm confused - I use many of the Kiss My Face products and according to a link from that article ( http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep/ ) my products are all rated high in the "danger zone" - sigh. And I finally found a great combo of shampoo and conditioner for my hair. EmsMom 06-10-2005, 02:45 PM I think this report will push most of the natural care companies into compliance with the new standards. They will have to, won't they? Give it about 6 months. I noticed that the shampoo I use from Avalon has removed the parabens. When I first started reading these kind of reports about chemicals in cosmetics I switched what I could but some things were very difficult. Shampoo was very hard to find without anything toxic. So was hand or body lotion. The good stuff was so very hard to find and very expensive. Things will change rapidly now, I predict! Co-op America is an impressive organization. I always learn something from them and am happy to support their work. |
