I'm new here, I hope no one minds if I join :) I'm due July 22, but this little guy seems to think I'm due sooner. (I'll explain that in a minute).

I already have two little ones, Zachary (3) and Ciara (2). My dh and I didn't specifically plan our children this close together, but that's the way things seem to work for us :LOL

We know that we are having a boy, which means my little girl will be the princess in the middle. Both of my children were born in the hospital, one medicated birth, one unmedicated. My son's birth was natural (as natural as possible in a hospital), and he had quite the large noggin :) I pushed for over 3 hours, but only tore slightly (after screaming at the OB with some sort of incoherent threat should he try to cut me :LOL )I ended up with a great deal of blood loss, despite nursing right after the birth, with my hemocrit dropping low enough that I wasn't able to sit up. My daughter's birth was the opposite. She was out in just two pushes, and no complications.

I would love to have a homebirth this time, but dh is adamantly against it :( He does know, however, that I won't budge on issues such as circumcision(leaving my son intact), breastfeeding, cosleeping, babywearing, delaying solids....etc.

As for why my baby seems to think I'm due earlier....I have been having issues with PTL and am already dilated (2-3) and effaced. I'm hoping to make it to 37-38 weeks, anything beyond that is a bonus :)

welcome :) It's never too late to start posting! So, have you been seeing an ob or a midwife this time?

Both, actually. They work together in the same practice. Both are very supportive and are great to talk to. I am lucky to be able to give birth in the new L&D in the new hospital which lets you labor in water, on a ball...etc. The old maternity ward didn't have anything but a shower.

Welcome! I hope you end up with the birth you want - I'm also a little worried about being too early, I'm 36 weeks and need to make it until Sunday to be able to deliver at the birth center. As of yesterday, my midwife estimated i was at between 1 and 2 cm, so we'll see.

Just remember that you can walk around for weeks at 2 cm.
