My dd keeps making off with the diaper stash I've been collecting for our baby (due in July). She loves diapering her dolls and teddys, and my mom said she'd love to make her some cloth dolly diapers in different sizes. Wondering if anyone has a pattern that they wouldn't mind sharing.

I dont know if this helps you much but the goodness gracious diaper pattern site has a free premie/doll diaper you can print off. Sorry I dont have the www. Maybe someone else does, or knows of another free premie diaper.

I have a litte bit of advice..

use less elastic than it says.. or rather VERY gentle elastic (something like the 1/8 inch stuff would be good).., very little elastic, or maybe none at all. My daughter has a hard time if the diaper just doesn't lay almost flat because when she pulls one side up, the other gets lost etc.. And, don't use snaps, use hook and loop but on the hook tabs on the wings, make them very small so that they don't have a ton of grip to them. It's for a doll, and it's not like the doll will wiggle out of the diaper :) Again, if my daughter has to work too hard ot get the diaper off or adjsut it, she gets frustrated. The ones I made had like a 1/2 inch piece of hook for the tab and that seemed about right and only about three inches of elastic at the legs (just sort of right in the center to give the illusion of gathering) and no elastic in the back. Anything more than that, and it was more work than it was worth to her :) I made a few like real diapers, and they NEVER get used because they are just too fussy for her ot get on and off a babydoll. So, I made some that were simpler, even if they didn't make me go "ahhhhhh" .. she likes them much better.

The other thing she uses a lot is nb diaper covers. I had some I got really cheap off of the TP and the hook and loop are older so they don't grip as tightly and they LOOK real to her (probably like an AIO).. so she uses those as a "diaper" a lot.
