Please send me a private message (PM) with your due date in the heading if you need to added or changed! Also--if you would like a stork, please post or PM me....and tell me what color :storkboy , :storkgirl , or :surprise:
...I know other people have introduced themselves on the March board, but I don't want to post anyone's private info (due date, name, etc.) unless you ask me to do it.... I'd hate to post private stuff if you didn't want it posted! :) So let me know!
-------------------------------------------------
Hi! :wave
Thought it might be nice to share our names, backgrounds, and due dates in a thread. I have such a poor memory for names and dates, I'm definitely going to need a thread to look back on! :o
I'm Elisabeth, 29 and SAHM to identical twin boys, Ian and James. Dh is a high school math teacher, and we live in a cute little Milwaukee neighborhood here in Wisconsin. My background is in (believe it or not) tropical ecology, and pre (surprise) pregnancy I had been PhD bound....Ian and James were born with special needs, so we decided change plans to be _very_ family focused for these first several years. Part of that is me staying home, and I love being here for them. They're the sweetest little guys, and being home just means I get two or three times the toddler hugs in any given day. (Ian and James are three :wink )
This new baby is such a blessing. We've been trying for 11 months, and Dh was just days away from going in to get his swimmers tested. We suspected the problem was me, anyway, so for a few months I've been getting acupuncture treatments. I don't know if that's the reason I'm here, but whatever! I'll take it! :D I'm going to keep up with the acupuncture through at least the first trimester, but I've stopped taking the Chinese Herbs.
In the future we're planning to adopt a girl from China, so if this baby is a boy I'll be just fine. :wink If it is a girl, though, she already has a huge stash of cute clothes (I've been buying a few girl outfits here and there for years now...goofy, I know. :p )
Looking forward to getting to know everyone!
ShellBelle76 06-27-2005, 01:55 PM Hi Elisabeth! Congrats on your pregnancy! My due date is 3/1 - and I'm finishing up my phd in business administration. Keeps me very busy, and I'm determined to finish before the baby is born. On that note, I'd best get back to work.
Looking forward to sharing the journey with y'all!
Mrs Dimples 06-27-2005, 06:36 PM How old are your boys, Elisabeth?
Hi Shelley! :D Lots of smart mamas here so far.
I'm Rachel, I am a mostly-SAHM to Devlin, 21 months. I am absolutely thrilled to be pg, "due" March 4-5. We are planning a homebirth. I teach classes a few times a month at a brick and mortar AP/NFL store in my area. I teach classes on BFing, babywearing, and cloth diapering.
sarahkjack 06-28-2005, 01:06 PM Hi all! I haven't introduced myself yet, so thought this was a good thread to start :-) I'm Sarah, SAHM to 3 kiddos...my oldest, Nathaniel, will be 8 in July. My middle, Ethan, just turned 5. And my youngest, Emily, turned 3 a few weeks ago....she's my nursling, still going strong :-) I tested positive 3 days ago...VERY quickly I might add, lol. AF was due that day. I'm guessing I'll be due around 3/6 or so, but my 3 kids were all early so I'm thinking late February this one will make his/her appearance! DH & I are very excited!
Sarah (who needs to learn how to do cool siggys...I've only ever posted on AOL boards before!)
amyrobynne 06-28-2005, 11:05 PM Hi everybody! I'm Amy, mom to Peter (15 months). I started a little WAHM business last fall that I work on after he goes to bed, but I've loved the transition to being at home with him. We cloth diaper, cosleep, and breastfeed on demand. Peter was born at home with two midwives in attendance at 42w2d (after 24 hours active and 4 days prodromal labor) but ended up getting transferred to the NICU because of breathing problems. I'm looking forward to a calmer homebirth this time around! I'm due March 7th--the day before my son's 2nd birthday. Hopefully this kid won't make me go so far overdue.
JillChristina 06-28-2005, 11:11 PM I'm excited to be joining you all!
I'm Jill, SAHM to Miss Kylie, who will be three in August. My dh is Philip and he works at Philips Electronics as a technical manager. We live in Snohomish, WA, with our two cats and four fish.
I just had my IUD removed last month and am a little surprised to be pg already. Thrilled, of course, but surprised. Everyone we've told so far is excited. I just can't keep this pg secret.
I look forward to getting to know you mommas better over the course of our pregnancy.
Jill
kindergirl77 06-29-2005, 09:42 PM Hi ladies! Congrats to you all!
I am newly pregnant w/ blessing #2 due March 2. I also have a 19 month old girl and I do home daycare (for now) until this baby comes, in which I will be looking forward to being a f/t SAHM!
I had a terrible birth experience last time and want to take control of this birth as much as I can to have a natural experience. :1praying:
zoe11 06-30-2005, 10:39 PM This is my first post on Mothering, so I hope I'm doing it right, but I'm due March 4. My name is Aly, aged 22 years, mother to 3 1/2 year old Colin, who is still nursing. I'm hopefully having a homebirth this time, planning to interview midwives next week. I live in Michigan. I'm glad to "meet" all of you and Congratulations!
RedOakMomma 07-01-2005, 09:19 AM Welcome, Aly! Congratulations to you, too! :)
mimi! 07-02-2005, 11:08 PM Hi everyone!
I'm very excited to be here too! You rock RedOakMomma with starting an ongoing thread for us to chat on, as well as the website links -very cool :thumb
I'm due with #2 around March 4th. I have a ds who is 25mo., so they will be 2yr. 10mo apart, which I am hoping is a good space. Ds is nursing, with no signs of giving up! I slowly cut him back quite a bit to get pregnant, which was a 9 mo. process of night weaning, herbs, and homeopathy. Glad to be overwith thinking about all the things I need to take in one day :nut Just drinking nettles and raspberry leaf now which is nice.
So this is week 5, and thanks again RedOak for the site with the pics! love it! - and the cramping I've had is sorta getting less. Anyone else had cramping and worrying?
Oh yeah, about me. I used to work in health promotion and epidemology, and loving being a sahm. Well, I just too exhausted even to think about going out to work everyday anyway! dh is a grade 2 teacher and we are just starting to enjoy our summer break and 5th wedding anniversary.
Looking forward to the next 35 weeks with everyone and those to come. Hey, march is a great month to be born; dh was born on the 6th and me the 31st of march. Here's to another march baby in our family!
Take care and rest well!
Gosh, I'm off to eat some more green olives; I've alread had 3 containers :bag:

I'm glad you mentioned this! I feel a lot of cramping, like period cramps, only constant and not as sharp. I don't remember this from my last pg. And I just don't feel miserable like I did with my last pg, very little nausea, bf my son doesn't hurt, I'm not tired all the time. Plus, I played soccer the day before I found out I was pg and got some really hard balls to the stomach. So the worrying starts once again!
Aly
Mom2Abaigeal 07-03-2005, 11:44 AM Hi add me to the list too! I am so excited to be here, I just found out yesterday when I got sick at work and had to come home. I had started back to work (three mornings a week) a week ago...so that will not be lasting long lol.
I have one dd who will be 3 in September. When I was preg with her we were living in Va near our family, this time we will be going it alone so I am so nervous about not having all that support.
Talk to you soon,
Erin
Oops, I am due around March 5th!! :love
Cedarmom 07-03-2005, 01:47 PM Hi! I'm Paula, SAHM to Sage, who is 25 months old. I found mothering thru the cloth diapering forums and discovered that a lot of the things that I did naturally are considered 'AP'. heh. Who knew responding to your babe's needs wasn't what everyone did??? :LOL
Anyway, I had an angel in April (due in November) and I'm now due again March 1st. :D I was nursing until Feb when Ds suddenly self-weaned. His weaning coincided exactly with implantation with my last pregnancy. I tried to get him to go back but he'd have none of it. :rolleyes
I look forward to getting to know you ladies. :D
a-sorta-fairytale 07-03-2005, 02:56 PM HI! I am "due" on march 10th. I will be planning a home vbac. I was 10 days "over due" (its not like they have a calendar in there!) with my dd Cali and ended up with a cs for craniosyntosis.
She was 12 pouns at birth so i am wondering if this little sprout will be bigger?
We were going to start ttc next month but were blessed early.
I am so excited to go on this journey again.
Anyone else still nursing?
Cali is 14 months and not planning on quitting anytime soon

momto3g3b 07-04-2005, 05:51 PM Hi! Guess I'm the "old lady" of the bunch thus far. :LOL
I'm Kate, a homeschooling SAHM to 6 kiddos ranging from 13.5 to 19 months. I'm due March 14th (or thereabouts) and, assuming I am having just one baby (I've conceived 3 sets of multiples out of 5 pregnancies, but only delivered 1 set, so it's possible I could have multiples again), I would like to try to have a VBAC. My first 3 kids were vaginal births, then my twins were c-section due to being in a footling breech position (both of them) and my last child was also a c-section because I couldn't convince any doctor to let me have a VBAC. My plan, if I have one baby (or if I have vertex twins), is to labor at home until I hit transition (with the assistance of a midwife or doula to watch for any possible problems) and then go to the hospital, which is 10 minutes away. I figure that it the baby is pretty much crowning or almost there, they really can't make me have a c-section again. And I'll do pretty much anything I can to avoid another one!
Anyhow, I'm thrilled to be here and look forward to sharing the pg experience with the rest of you ladies. :)
Anyone else still nursing?
Yep! Isaac is still going strong. I've never nursed during a pregnancy, so I have no idea whether he'll continue to the end or if he'll wean. I guess time will tell, eh?

are you a part of ican? it is ican-online.org the ladies there ahve a ton of great vbac info
amyrobynne 07-05-2005, 12:04 AM Kate, if I was in your situation, that's exactly how I would choose to deliver, too. Well, maybe I'd just plan a homebirth, but after a couple c-sections, I can understand the desire to consider a hospital birth.
Glad to have you join us! My 15 month old still nurses constantly, so that's a concern for me, too.
lytemami718 07-05-2005, 10:05 AM Im 5 wks preg due on march 4th and this will be my 2nd. Im 23 yrs old and feel like a disappointment to some ppl, but learning how to please me. ICAN is an AWESOME resource :thumb . They have a fabulous email list - I learned more from being on that list than any book I've read. There are also women in your situation Kate who've found "creative" ways to avoid unnecessary c/s.

:wave and Welcome!! Glad you introduced yourself. Look at it this way, you're way ahead of me, you've already done this once :) .
As for avoiding the people pleasing - they'll get over it, or not, and you'll then have the opportunity to surround yourself with people who can offer you REAL support.

RedOakMomma 07-05-2005, 01:39 PM My Goodness! What was the moon doing on June 11th? That's FIVE mamas due on March 4th, and I bet there's more to come!
zoe11 and mimi!~ I'm glad to mentioned the cramping, too. I've been feeling it since AF was due, and I don't know quite what to think of it. It's more of a tugging feeling than a menstrual feeling, though. It's starting to go away now, so I'm hoping it was just the baby getting settled in.
:sticky Stay, babies, stay! :sticky
LisaG~ when are you due? Would you like me to put you on the list of March mamas, or do you think you're in February? Lemme know.... :D
LisaG 07-05-2005, 06:46 PM LisaG~ when are you due? Would you like me to put you on the list of March mamas, or do you think you're in February? Lemme know.... :D
According to my calculations I'm officially 40 weeks on March 8th, so I guess use that for now and I'll update it when I see my doc. I'm hoping he'll agree to push it to the first part of March - the later the better as far as I'm concerned :thumb
Thanks!
honeybee 07-06-2005, 05:03 AM Hi! I'm Melissa. I have a 20-month nursling ds. He had been sleeping through the night, so I thought we would go ahead and ttc; but, now that I am pg, he is suddenly waking up to nurse a few times a night again. :shrug Well, I'm planning on just taking one day at a time as far as the nursing goes.
I am 31, and have been married to Tom for 6 years. I was a high school math teacher for 5 years. Then I quit due to a political situation and spent a year editing math activity books. That worked out great because I ended up working for the same publisher writing math activity books from home after ds was born.
Since January, however, I haven't had any work (publisher hasn't gotten its act together to allocate money for a new publishing cycle yet), so I've been enjoying being a f/t SAHM.
Anyone have one breast that is a lot more sore than the other one? My left breast has really been hurting, while the right is only occasionally a little tender.
According to TCOYF, I'm due March 2nd. But, when I first calculated it, I got March 1st. That's dh's birthday, so I'm sticking with the first as my date! My birthday is March 6th, and my brother's is March 8th. So, this baby will be in good company! I'm starting to wonder if ds is going to feel a little left out being the only one with a birthday in November!
Melissa

Yes ~ I joined a few days ago. I'm looking forward to getting LOTS of good information. Here's to hoping for a VBA2C for me! :thumb
nubianamy 07-06-2005, 11:34 AM This is my first post on the Mothering discussion boards. I'm very glad to be here. We *haven't* been TTC, but have been talking about TTC in August or September. I'm a teacher and the ideal situation would be to have the baby in June, so I could finish out the year. Well, my body decided that NOW would be a good time...! Estimated due date is March 7, 2006.
I teach elementary school in Ann Arbor, MI. My partner owns his own computer networking company. We will be moving in to Touchstone Cohousing this fall -- very excited to be moving in finally after a 3 year process of designing/building! -- and three other neighbors are also TTC right now, so that will be so much fun.
We are eating very well, organics & whole foods, and I am cooking much more... taking heavy-duty prenatals w/raspberry leaf and B6 (short luteal phase, guess I don't have to worry about that now!)...
I am a former doula and am fairly knowledgeable about birth, but don't know so much about babies. =) Looking forward to learning from all of you. I am a strong proponent of home birth and plan to find a midwife soon.
I live an "alternative" lifestyle in just about every way possible, but we are both down-to-earth folks and are very much looking forward to this baby.
honeybee 07-06-2005, 06:45 PM nubianamy,
Look at it this way. If you can work it to take the rest of the school year off after the baby's born, you'll have nearly 5 months with your baby before (if) you return to work. If the baby was born in June, you'd barely get 3 months!
I understand not wanting to give up "your" students to someone else for the rest of the year, though. I ended up quitting teaching before I got pregnant, but I was ttc while teaching, and worried about how it would all work out. We had such a hard time finding qualified teachers (hs math, with a progressive curriculum), let alone qualified subs. My last year was a nightmare of trying to supervise underqualified long-term subs and a student teacher... okay, sorry for the tangent!
Melissa
JuicyPakwan 07-06-2005, 08:59 PM Hi,
I'm due March 8 and am looking forward to getting to know you guys. I have 3 kids and am planning a UC homebirth. We had a miscarriage last fall so am crossing my fingers as cramps heat up.
a-sorta-fairytale 07-06-2005, 09:38 PM Is it normal for a us at the first apt?
I was on a mainstream board (i know i know - i think i like to torture myself!) and all the march moms were talknig about hearing a heartbeat and all that jazz. I am planning a hbac (home vbac) and will only get one ultrasoudn to check for placenta placement (unless it is iffy and another is needed of course). Is it really the norn to do this? I hear of people getting 3-6 us per preg on average now. It blows my mind.

I don't think having multiple u/s's is normal for low-risk women. I started my care last time with a CNM connected to a hospital and I would have had one 18-20 week u/s if I'd stayed with them. The fact that they really pushed us to have that one when I didn't feel it was necessary was the final push to choosing homebirth for me.
Jillbob 07-07-2005, 07:29 AM Hi everyone :wave
I'm Jillian, 26, SAHM to 3, due with #4 on March 11. My dh is in the navy, currently on shore duty (yay!). I'm hoping for a VBA3C, but since we just moved here last year, I'm not sure about the hospitals' policies. Luckily there are a few near by to choose from lol.

I've always had an ultrasound at the first appt. I don't think I've known anyone IRL who didn't, the drs at our last duty station all used it to date pregnancy. I tend to get more than average, but I'm high risk (two preemies) so that's definitely not the norm. I'll probably forgo all but two this time (first appt, and midway u/s) unless there is any medical reason to get another one. I'd like to decline them all, but with my history I'd worry too much.

Hi, i am going for a home vbac this time. I only had the one midway us last time. I know the exact day we got pg since with a 14 month old nursling you dont have much time for "extrauricular activities" :)

honeybee 07-07-2005, 11:23 AM Multiple u/s are mainly a fad. Everyone expects u/s so the docs give them. In the medical model, the more technology, the better. This is despite the fact that ACOG itself does not recommend any routine u/s for low-risk pregnancies. I refused the 20 week u/s last time. My family doc explained in one session why she thought it was a good idea, but then respected my wishes. If docs didn't just ASSUME everyone ovulates on day 14 and took a look at your average cycle length and individual pattern; and, if they didn't insist on inducing at some arbitrary date, they wouldn't "need" that dating u/s. Okay, off my soapbox now!
Hey, I'm another bbc aper (lissa dawn there)! Nice to see you guys! I was glad to find this board. Anything to avoid bbc birth boards!!

MamaChel 07-09-2005, 09:19 AM Hi! I guess I'm here too. I'm Michelle, expecting #3 next March probably around the 7th. :)
I have 2 boys, ages 3 and 11 months, who are still nursing. We're planning another homebirth this time around.
When I had DS #1 I had a ton of u/s. They wanted to do one every week or so through out the entire pg. They used it for dating, weight estimation, because they jsut wanted a peek, who knows. I didn't have any with #2 and will probably not have any this time either.
Anyway, congrats to everyone!
etoilech 07-09-2005, 03:50 PM I forgot to introduce myself. Doh! :bag: I'm Olivia and I am expecting #2 March 13th. My husband and I have a wonderful little boy who has mild cerebral palsy. He isn't walking yet and we are hoping, hoping that he'll be walking before baby#2 arrives. :thumb
Erik was a preemie born at 29 weeks, so I need all your stay put baby vibes you can muster. I am not anxious to repeat that experience. That said we planning on a homebirth with a midwife.
We live in Switzerland and my husband is Swiss. I am a student midwife.

nepenthesea 07-09-2005, 06:54 PM Hey! I'm Jolene, and I'm 31. I'm pregnant for the first time- due on March 6th. I found out two weeks ago while I was on vacation. I went to a yoga retreat, which I visit every year. I was wondering what was up, because I couldn't do as much as I usually do - I was too tired and weak. I took alot of naps and didn't really do much. I also ate alot more, and had some nausea. I just chalked it up to the 'energy' of the place, the vegetarian food, getting old, whatever! My friends were thinking I was already pregnant. My husband and I had been trying since April, but I didn't think I could be pregnant this soon. We kept seeing rabbits everywhere, and my friends kept saying they were fertility symbols. I brought a pregnancy test with me, just in case, and the last morning of our trip, I just woke up and thought I should use it. Sure enough, the result was positive, which was really weird!
I'm really excited, but very scared, too. I am planning a midwife-assisted birth at a birth center, maybe even a water birth. We're not picky about the gender, and think it's cool that we won't even know the gender until the baby is born!
It will be nice having other people to talk with, who are due close to the same time :)

Sandrine 07-10-2005, 07:09 PM HI! I`m Sand and I`m pg with my 3rd and due on march 5th.
March babies are great babies as i already have one. :LOL
RedOakMomma 07-10-2005, 07:10 PM Olivia~
My sons both have a genetic disorder that means, in their case, physical delays. Ian didn't start walking until he was two (he's running now--just try to stop him!), and James is 3+ and just learning (his record is 10 steps). One thing I've learned is that, no matter the age, as long as they're moving forward physically and developmentally, they'll get there. :hug, mama. (And I'll keep my fingers crossed :fingersx: that this baby stays put for another 35 weeks!!)
:D Welcome, everyone! Congratulations! :D
Silvercrest79 07-10-2005, 07:34 PM 11/17/05 It's a GIRL!!!!!!
7/10/05 Yes, FINALLY after 19 months we got a :+. :happyt: :thumb :blush ;) Needless to say we are soooo excited. :bouncy Can't wait to hear the :heartbeat :exclaim Need to call the hbmw and start planning our :homew:.
We are 99.99% sure we conceived on 6-11 so that gives us a due date of approximately 3-4-06.
Got to go change my siggy now! :)
LisaG 07-10-2005, 08:12 PM Hi Alison, :wave
Welcome and Congratulations!! I hope you have a peaceful and uneventful pregnancy.
Also, since you're new and probably haven't had a chance to learn all the ins and outs yet - you might want to look at shortening your siggy, 2 lines max ;) .
Take care,
Lisa
MamaChel 07-10-2005, 08:22 PM Alison,
Welcome and congrats! Has it really been 19 months already? Wow! I remember you from an email list we were on together. :) I'm so happy for you.
nubianamy 07-11-2005, 10:43 AM Hey! I'm Jolene, and I'm 31. I'm pregnant for the first time- due on March 6th. I found out two weeks ago while I was on vacation.
Jolene -- I'm 31, and this is my first, and I found out on vacation, too! We must be twins. =) Where is your yoga retreat? I love yoga.
Congratulations!

doulamom22 07-12-2005, 12:34 AM I'm Shanna, doula and mostly SAHM to my dd, 4, and ds, 10 months. We are planning a midwife-assisted homebirth. My due date is March 18th, but I have babies who like to go post-dates so this may actually be an April baby.
Kate- ICAN or some similar group is gathering stories of women that have been denied a VBAC. It is against the patients bill of rights. If you are interested in sharing your experience I will get the info for you.
I've had lots of ultrasounds with my past pregnancies but now that I've researched them more I will avoid them. It is so creepy how babies swim away from the ultrasound, obviously they don't like it, maybe it hurts them. I will have one to make sure that this baby is in my uterus and not my tube (my tubes were 100% blocked with scar tissue but apparently they opened up a bit) but that's it. The gender will be a surprise, which will be fun.

Wow! We must be twins! I am a Gemini, after all...I've got to have one somewhere.
The yoga retreat I go to is Shoshoni Yoga Retreat, in Rollinsville, CO. Very nice up there!
I read one of your earlier posts about how you were hoping to have your baby in June, to finish out the year. That happened to one of my sisters recently. She and dh wanted a baby, and were trying for a June due date, since they are both teachers. She thought it might take a while to conceive, and they went ahead and started trying. She pretty much got pg right away, and had her daughter on April 7th this year. Not really what she was hoping for, either!
Congratulations to you, too!
;)

After 2 years of NFP and no pregnancies, we figured it would be a difficult road -- so far, no bumps. =)
canne 07-15-2005, 11:15 AM Hello everyone and congratulations!
My name is Carrie, married to my dh for 7 years, mama to my ds who will be 3 in September. We just started trying to conceive #2 in June so it came as quite a shock to see a second faint line on an hpt on the 4th of July! So here we are due on March 16th.
I am feeling slightly overwhelmed at thought of two since my ds still nurses some and does not sleep through the night. We will manage I'm sure though!
Best Wishes,
Carrie

Hi Everyone,
I'm Kam, mama to 3-yr-old Meg, married to DH for ten years. This is my third pregnancy; I lost the first due to an unembryonic gestation. We tried for many years and with lots of help for all pregnancies, so I always take the good news with lots of salt. My EDD is 3/20 or so.
I'm a doctoral candidate at a big research university, planning to finish my phd by next March, for obvious reasons! Dh is normally a ped/child psychiatrist, but is staying home with Meg now while I write. It's a happy arrangement, but now I'm really feeling the pressure. I'm even having trouble sleeping, which is quite a rarity for me.
My dad was just diagnosed with cancer, so I think this journey will be bittersweet. We will tell my family about the pregnancy in a few weeks. I hope it brings some sunlight and much needed joy to a sad time.
I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone. Due date boards can be such fun! Good luck and good health to everyone!
warmly,
Kam, mamamama! to Meg, and one more
CaliMomof4 07-16-2005, 12:25 PM Hi! My name is Andrea and I am due with baby #5 around March 24th. I am planning my second HBAC with my awesome midwife! I am married to my highschool sweetheart Esteban and we have four beautiful children: Christopher 7-13-93, Carla 8-31-95, Ian 5-3-99 and Luisa 11-5-03. I'm hoping for an uneventful pregnancy, but am starting it with chronic hypertension and am overweight. The last pg was the same and everthing went pretty well - hopefully the same will hold true for this one as well!
Mariposa 07-17-2005, 12:45 AM Hi all! I am Pepper. Mom to my just turned 3 year old Abby. I am possibly planning to have my first homebirth, otherwise hope to birth in the birthcenter. The hospital I would go to isn't that horrible, they have tubs to labor in, if things are going well of course.
I work part time as a postpartum nurse 2 nights a week right now, plan on quitting after the baby is born to be home full time with the new one. Not sure if it will be possible financially, but hopefully we can save enough money now to do so for as long as possible. We also plan to move to Indiana 2 months after the baby is born and buy a house.
My EDD is March 20, will be expecting a surprise, just like last time! Will be hard to wait, but I love surprises! Looking forward to being on a due date club where I have like opinions with the other mamas. Was on a mainstream board with Abby and it kinda sucked.
Haven't told everyone yet, but most people know already. I just can't keep it a secret. I know that it will suck if I miscarry, but I just can't keep a secret. Funny how I don't want to know what I am having again, though, huh? I didn't call everyone, but it is on my blog and when I talk to people, I will tell them.
Happy pregnancy vibes to us all!

a-sorta-fairytale 07-18-2005, 05:32 PM I dont know f she will come on herer (she isnt much for onliine communities) but i am so excited. My best friend since high school is pg and due in march too! We have always wanted to be pg together! She came ot my house and took the test today!

NathansMommy 07-19-2005, 12:56 AM Hello! I'm Danielle, I'm a WAHM to 1 son, Nathan, who is 14.5 months. We just decided to start trying again...and well...here I am! We got pregnant right away with our first but I really didn't expect it to be that fast again, but it's great! Anyways, my EDD is 3/23/06. I just started cloth diapering my son a few months ago and am planning to CD the new one as well. Had major problems nursing my son, we ended up going completely to formula by 3 months, he was just not eating and he needed something. Doctor totally did not care and did not even make an attempt to find out why my son did not want to nurse. Now I have recently found out that he has low muscle tone which causes nursing problems :irked: Anyways, hopefully I will be able to nurse this one much longer! I also had a c-section with my first, but hoping to do this one naturally :D

OK, please clarify for me: is HBAC Home Birth After Cesearean??? And you've done it once already! I want to at least have a VBAC with a midwife, but I wasn't sure if a midwife would take on a VBAC!

In my cohousing community there are three other moms who are TTC this fall, which is when I was planning to TTC... guess I got a bit of a jump on it. =)
a-sorta-fairytale 07-19-2005, 10:11 AM There are many midwvies in my area who do home vbacs (hbacs) if you join the ican list ican-online.org maybe one of the ladies in your area has used a home birth mw that does vbacs.

HappiLeigh 07-19-2005, 04:32 PM Hi Mamas!
I'm due March 27, first baby. Wa-hoooo! I'm a full-time grad student, but I think I'm probably going to bail and be a SAHM, for a host of reasons (including we are moving 300 miles away from my school and I don't want take the deal at the new school I was considering, knowing I'd only be in classes fall semester). I already finished an MA anyway. :shrug It's kind of liberating to just say "bye bye school!" :wink
My life is currently being eaten alive by the chaos of house-showing, house-hunting, and packing, but I have an eye on a bunch of tomatoes in my yard I'd like to can soon, and I truly can't wait to get started making dipes! :cd:
I'll turn 29 on 7/30 and I've been married for 2 years to DH, age 35. I can't keep my mouth shut about my 4 BFPs (yes, I actually took four tests before I believed it--two different brands), and have already told a lot of people. :bag:
Looking forward to March!! :love
mexiguat 07-19-2005, 04:39 PM Hi I have posted on two other threads, but I guess I should introduce myself. I am about 4 weeks from conception and 6 weeks LMP. I am excited, this is my 3rd and last baby, but I am also scared. Why??? Because I want so much for this to go right - even though I wasn't exactly planning this pregnancy (I am getting married on 8/6) we want this baby especially since we only want 3! Just hoping everything goes well. I am 34 but will turn 35 in Dec. so I am scared about having to have amniocentisis done - don't really want to since I will barely have turned 35. Anyone have thoughts on that?
Swandira 07-19-2005, 07:46 PM I'm Nealy, 31, due 3/1. I have a two-year-old also, born 12/9/02. Glad to be joining you!

Anyone have thoughts on that? Are you required to have it done? I wouldn't bother! Assuming all went with your first two, there is no reason not to expect it wouldn't go well with the next one. 35 isn't so old! =)
amyrobynne 07-20-2005, 12:13 AM Just hoping everything goes well. I am 34 but will turn 35 in Dec. so I am scared about having to have amniocentisis done - don't really want to since I will barely have turned 35. Anyone have thoughts on that?
I'm with Maggi--amnios are based on odds, and there's no magical moment the day you turn 35 when you suddenly become higher risk. I'd look at the big picture--were there any complications with your first two pregnancies? Is there any reason to suspect things will be different this time? It used to be that at age 35, the risk of complications from the amnio became less than the chance of problems found by it. Now, if you have an experienced tech, I believe the risks from the amnio are less. Anyway, I take the approach that interventions like amnios should not be done routinely--there should be a reason to request it, and having a birthday a few months one way or another isn't by itself a risk factor.
Do what you're comfortable with--if the amnio will help you rest assured that the baby is healthy, then take it, but if you're scared of the amnio itself, don't put yourself through it without good reason.

3 Little Monkeys 07-20-2005, 04:59 PM Hi, I'm Sherri :wave I'm 32 and pg with baby #4. I have 3 girls - Mikayla (10/19/94) Danielle (4/14/01) and Jessica (11/12/03) so we are hoping for a boy this time (but will be just as happy with another girl :love ) All of my girls have been breastfed, Jessica would nurse all day long if I let her. She still wakes a few times at night so I already have the "functioning on no sleep" thing down :LOL
Morning sickness is kicking my tail right now - I've tried everything I can think of. I ordered some preggie pops this morning, hopefully that will be the miracle cure I'm looking for. I'm just so sick of being sick!!
Oh, I forgot to mention my due date! I'm due 3/1/06, but I have yet to make it to my due date so I'll probably go at least a week early. Here's to happy, healthy pregnancies and babies for all of us!
NathansMommy 07-20-2005, 05:38 PM Hey Sherri! Preggie Pops are AWESOME! At least they were for me! I will definitely be ordering some.
...On a side note, has anyone else gotten freaked out after not feeling any symptoms for a few days and gone out and bought another pregnancy test? Cuz I did lol! In fact, I bought a two pack in case it happens again heehee!
scubamom 07-20-2005, 06:13 PM hi
i was wondering if i could be added to the list.
im due march 23 with #2.
i am 29 and ttc since april, and i am so so excited now that has happened.
i am not having too many symptoms just tired and a little nausea. Although i am only 5 weeks tommorrow, and i know with ds it didnt kick in till week 6.
i just wanted to say and i am looking forward to getting to know you all :love

Danielle
Danielle - Yes, HBAC is homebirth after c/s. I had my c/s in May of '99 and my HBAC in October of '03. There are are midwives that will take you as a client. Are you familiar with ICAN International? They have a great email support group and you get can good info from the website. There are chapters all over that hold meetings and where you can more than likely find VBAC friendly practioners in your area!
GL!

In fact, I bought a two pack in case it happens again heehee!Yes, I did that a few days ago! This being my first pregnancy, I guess I can allow myself some irrational concern. =) I worry that things are going "too good!" The tiredness I felt in weeks 5 & 6 is mostly gone... I'm not as hungry... no nausea... ?? Just wanted to make sure I wasn't making this all up. =)
nubianamy 07-21-2005, 08:08 AM LOL not me. BUT i did take one 3 days after getting the first positive to see how much faster the line would show to prove my hcg was rising. It was reassuring to see that, Margarita! The whole window turned pink!! =)

#2dueinmarch 07-21-2005, 09:18 AM Hello Ladies, my name is Dianne, I am 26 years old and married to DH John (30) for 3 years. We have a DD named Gianna who just turned one in June. We are very excited to welcome this new little bundle of joy, EDD March 28th. I go for my first appointment on August 16th. I am 4 weeks this week!! Can't wait to get to know you all :)
M_of_M 07-21-2005, 02:37 PM I am probably due in the first week of March. (let's say Mar 3). Count me in.

Yes, the same thing happens to me too, and of course I fret. But I'd save my $$$ on the tests cause you can probably still get a postive if a m/c happens because hcg is still in your system. I heard of a mom getting a false positive when her babe was 3 mo. old and that's because the hormone is still circulating. I'm sure everything is just fine! :D
mimi! 07-21-2005, 10:54 PM So what do you all think about having a monthly thread instead of weekly? I see that its kinda died. I don't always come to this board to check things out, but rely on subscribing and keeping up that way. Now that we've all introduced ourselves, maybe we could chat and discuss concerns, etc. on the monthly thread, maybe based on the lunar calandar; so would this be the 2nd month right?
RedOakMomma 07-22-2005, 10:21 AM A monthly thread sounds great--otherwise this one's going to be 80 pages by the time March comes along! :) mimi!, could you start it?
Also, pink porcupine~ what's your due date? If you feel like sharing, I'll be happy to add you to the list! Welcome!
Welcome :wave to everyone new! Big congratulations!
scubamom 07-22-2005, 10:28 AM ROM i hate to ask again :bag: could i be added to list on the 23rd march please
RedOakMomma 07-22-2005, 10:41 AM Hi Heather! No need for :bag:..:) It's funny, because I think I was adding you as you posted. Check it out-- you should be there.
I've been out of order the past couple of days, but with a totally cool excuse. On Wednesday I helped my friend deliver her baby girl! She asked me to be there as a labor support person, and it was such an incredible experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still, at eight weeks preggo, my body needed A LOT of rest after that day of adrenaline. I've slept 24 out of the last 36 hours!
If I've missed anyone, please just let me know! Sometimes my list gets really jumbled, and on days when lots of new people come in, I might overlook someone.
SuzanneS 07-22-2005, 03:15 PM I all I'm new here
Congrats on all your pregnancies
I'm due march 4th and this will be my 3rd
Can't wait to get to know all of you

scubamom 07-22-2005, 03:34 PM man im pissed.
well to cut a long story short (well not too short, warning long rant ahead) in my line of work (radiation therapist), i have to inform my boss as soon as i confirm pregnancy. Well wouldnt normally be a problem as safe to work when pregnant yadda yadda so could do on monday, except on the current machine im rostered on is the only one im not allowed to work while pregnant
. so im off this week , and phoned deputy boss (as boss on hols), and i thought easy enough she can just change the schedule while im off and nobody the wiser, instead of mad panic on monday morning as that would be soo, obvious. Well a good friend (who knows), tells me major gossip at work, everyone asking him, "am i pregnant").
because apparently she went around saying "heather HAS to be moved monday" so all guessing. I am mad as wanted to share the news myself maybe after my U/s in 10 days time. I should have known she couldnt keep her mouth shut arghhhhhhh. Im thinking if anyone asks if im pregnant, im just gonna say "why do i look fat in these pants" :LOL
psyche 07-22-2005, 06:47 PM Hi,
I'm Deirdre, due theoretically 3/31 (though judging from my first I'll actually go in April) so I'm bringing up the tail end date of this message board. I'm a SAHM to one still-nursing three-year-old. Also, I'm a bit shocked still... but I guess I know how these things happen by now. I didn't manage to get over my shock after I tested this afternoon to make any sort of medical appointment, but I planned ahead and met the midwife last month.
Ack!
Mommyat16 07-22-2005, 07:48 PM  My name is Nikki and I am due March 7 with my first baby. I am 16 and very nervous because i don't know whats going on with my body. so anything you could tell me would help a ton.

allismom 07-22-2005, 09:06 PM Hi, I am Shari. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and I am a SAHM with her and love it! We are expecting baby #2 on March 26th.
I have had no symptoms and hardly even feel pregnant! I would like to have a 'sign' other than the pregnancy test!
pinkporcupine 07-23-2005, 12:34 AM [QUOTE=RedOakMomma]
Also, pink porcupine~ what's your due date? If you feel like sharing, I'll be happy to add you to the list! Welcome!
{QUOTE]
I think I'm going to be keeping it to "sometime in March"....I really don't want to get the "ooohhh - just three days left" type of comments. My family has a history of going late, and I don't want the extra anxiety. But thanks for the interest.
Ansley
nubianamy 07-23-2005, 08:37 AM Ansley - I'm with you! Also, my Dr's office is predicting March 8, whereas the online due date predictor said March 6... I'm hoping later than sooner, personally! I bet I'll feel differently when I get there, though. =)
Mallory 07-23-2005, 08:39 AM I am a homeschooling mom to two boys 4 and almost 6, and I am due March 11. Though like pinkporcupine I've only told all my real life friends and family the middle of March- and I even have babies that come on their due dates. I just think a range of days does better at the feeling that this is not something that a person should just put down in their calendar, it is a magical, misterious thing.
My 4 year old still nurses a couple times a week, but he has been saying he'll stop when the baby comes. I'll believe it when I see it, my first nursed well past 5!
I am excited to have found a midwife that will come to my home! Maybe this time I'll actually have a homebirth. I started with a lay midwife the first time, but then we moved in with my inlaws, and a few days at the hospital started look better. I don't know what they would have done if I'd had a baby at their house! With the second I had just moved 1600 miles away from everyone I knew and I thought I would like a birth center better because of the community that also is found with one, a place to make some friends (and we could not afford a homebirth, medicaid would pay for the birthcenter). But this time I think I will finally get to have this baby at home!
amyjeans 07-23-2005, 08:42 AM howdy all- not new to MDC, but new to this thread! We are due March 26th...ther abouts! please add me to your list. This is gonna be fun!
a-sorta-fairytale 07-23-2005, 08:18 PM It drives people nuts on the mainstream websites when i put 3/?/06 they are like "but WHEN are you due???"
hrutledge 07-25-2005, 06:34 PM Hi and congrats to everyone!! I just had a positive test tonight. This will be my second. I also have a three year old daughter. I think I will be due March 26.
Again congrats and good luck to all the mamas to be :thumb
RedOakMomma 07-26-2005, 11:05 AM :-wool Congrats to all the new mom-to-bes! :-wool
This ninth week has hit me kinda hard, so I don't think I'll be on-line every day. When I do get on-line, though, I'll be sure to check my PMs and this thread. Please be patient with me! :) All I want to do is sleep recently....
melamama 07-26-2005, 01:17 PM Hi All :wave
I'm due with #3 around March 10. I'm a sahm homeschooling my 5 1/2 year old and my 2 1/2 year old--who is also nursing constantly lately.
Planning for another home-born water baby like #1 and #2--and this will be my second Pisces.
Robinde 07-26-2005, 01:36 PM Hi everyone and congratulations!! My due date is March 2, 2006. I'm a WAHM with 3 daughters. One 18 year old who is about to make me a grandmother, a 15 year old and a 14 month old.
Ilovelife 07-26-2005, 02:19 PM Hi everyone & congratulations! I've been lurking here, but am finally ready to join. I'm expecting #2 on or about March 23. I knew I was pregnant right away, because I have been SOOO tired since day 1. I knew it wasn't just chasing-my-toddler tired! I'm a bit nervous for this pregnancy because I've had a couple previous miscarriages, so I'm trying very hard to take good care of myself. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. :)
kellykins 07-26-2005, 09:19 PM Hi everyone!
Just a quick hello there, as I already posted in the main "Im Pregnant" thread...
Wanting to say HI and that I'm happy to be a part of this group! :thumb
I'm Kelly (kinda obvious from the screenname, hee), I am also 26 (seems like alot of us at 26?) I've been married to my sweetie for 7 years (as of this Monday!) and the two lines were a Happy Anniversary surprise. (We werent trying but werent preventing...) This will- if all goes right, be our first!
I am going to be a Master's student this Fall and hope to snatch a Master's Certificate in Education Technology before our little one joins us, but we shall see.
According to the online calculators, we are due sometime in the neighborhood of March 28. I am sOosOsOOOOOoooo glad to have this board, as I was a bit freaked about the sort of mild "presence" Im feeling in my abdomen, sort of like the mildest AF cramp ever, just constantly... and I read that some of ya'll had the same. And then today, this evening, it subsided for a while and I was thinking "oh no, now its gone! maybe I should go get a test and be sure.." haha! Well the "feeling" is back for the most part. I attribute that (and the fact Im not asleep and its 11pm) to exercising today- some low grade biking. good stuff.
anyhoo, youll find, I tend to ramble... sorry all in advance.
nubianamy 07-26-2005, 10:22 PM Hi everyone and congratulations!! My due date is March 2, 2006. I'm a WAHM with 3 daughters. One 18 year old who is about to make me a grandmother, a 15 year old and a 14 month old.Wow, Robinde, that is so wonderful! Happy to hear about your new babies AND your grandbaby.
Heart.Revolution 07-30-2005, 09:07 AM Hi Ladies!
My name is Aminah. I am due on March 24th 2006. This my 5th pregnancy...three others ended in early miscarriages, one was a molar pregnancy. So far this one seems promising! My last early miscarriage i found out that i had low progesterone. (6.2) As of last wednesday my progesterone is up to 16.9 and my HCG was 31,000. My midwife is re-testing my levels again on tuesday, and my first ultrasound is thursday.
I would like this pregnancy to be as natural and non-invasive as possible. I feel that in the past with my other losses i have been kinda non-emotional about this pregnancy because i have not had the best of luck. I really hope that i hear a heartbeat at the ultrasound.
I would like to hope that this one is the one, because I sure an moody and sick all the time!

Hi Nikki,
Is there an adult in your life who you can seek some guidance from? I would suggest that you spend alot of time reading info from this site, and checking out books from the library. Perhaps join a support group in your area to help you through all your physical and emotional needs.
InochiZo 07-30-2005, 11:43 AM Add me please!!!
Thanks for starting this thread and Congratulations to all of you.
Baby's due date is March 4, 2006

lactationlady 07-31-2005, 04:25 PM Looks like I'll be bringing up the rear with delphinemere (Deirdre). We just found out yesterday that we are pg with #3, due 3/30/06. This is our first pg without *any* infertility treatments. And it only took 9 months to get pg! I am in shock, as it took 3.5yrs with ds and 18months with dd. I much prefer the shorter, no treatments and testing method. :LOL I hope to get to know you all better as we go along.
RedOakMomma 08-04-2005, 05:30 PM Hi all!
It's me, your friendly neighborhood list-maker. Just wanted to let y'all know I'm going on vacation for a couple of weeks. Our list for the last half of March is pretty sparse, so I expect there are a lot more people out there who might want to be added. Please just add your name here (or send me a PM with your due date in the heading), and I'll add your names when I get back on the 21st.
Thanks!
snoopy5386 08-04-2005, 09:47 PM Hi, My name is Nicole, I'm 27 and due with my first baby on March 29!! :love
Talula Fairie 08-07-2005, 10:12 PM Some how I forgot to intro on this thread! I posted an intro thread tho. Can I blame prego brain?
I'm Lindsay, married to Roger. I have an 8 month old DD, and we are expecting baby #2 March 30th. Add me to the list!!!
And hello again, everyone! :D
CaliMomof4 08-08-2005, 11:12 AM Could you change me to March 18 fro
m March 24? I pretty sure I o'd on day 14 instead of day 21 like I have been in the past...
jasifamily 08-08-2005, 08:19 PM I'm Julianne mother to Ariadne 4.5 and Ian 2.5 my new baby is due on March 21st. I am having a homebirth with a new midwife than my last two and found someone who is wonderful on MDC.
I am still BF my oldest just once a day (in the AM) and my 2 yr old is still nursing as much as he can. I am so exhausted lately, I only want to lay around. I am learning to eat every few hours, smalls snacks so that I don't feel nausea all day. I don't remember feeling like this with my first two, my mom said over 30 your pregnancies are different (she had 6). I'm just barely 30, but someone please tell me this isn't true and will pass soon :)
Birth Junky 08-10-2005, 11:57 AM Just thought I would introduce myself . . .
Just found out about this (surprise!) pregnancy a week and a half ago; I have been on the pill for a year now, but somehow an egg got through. Shocking, but wonderful!
DH and I have been married almost three years (anniversary in September), and together for 12--we met when we were 14. We always planned for kids, but just figured we would wait another year or two before TTC. Ah, well--the best laid plans, right? :)
I have been planning on becoming a midwife since I was 9 years old, so this pregnancy will be natural all the way and culminate in a homebirth. Currently I work as a massage therapist (specializing in pregnancy massage) and doula, but am actually looking forward to giving up my career for awhile to be a SAHM. DH has already promised that as soon as the baby hits 6-9 months and can go more than 1-2 hours between feedings, he will try to change his schedule so that he can be home early in the evenings, and I can start scheduling clients (one at a time) for evenings and weekends. I am a LITTLE bummed that I will not be able to do labor support for such a long time ('cause you never know if a labor will be 10 hours or 30!), but having a little one of my own has been a dream for as long as I can remember, and I will get back to attending births eventually. Plus, hopefully with a birth of my own under my belt, I will be an even more effective source of support for laboring women!
My due date is March 28th, so I almost feel as though I should fence-sit between the March and April due date clubs (my mom went three days past her due date with both my brother and I) . . . but the calendar says March, so I will stick with that!
Can't wait to get to know you all better over the coming months . . . may you all have happy & healthy pregnancies, and joyous births!
nubianamy 08-11-2005, 10:18 AM Welcome, Birth Junky! =) My bf and I have also been together for 3 years and have known one another since I was 14. =) Congratulations on your pregnancy!
Many people who are cusp two months are lurking on two due date boards. Plus if you hang out on the April board, you can be the "expert" after having gone through all the stuff the April folks are about to experience. *giggle*
I miss being a doula ever since I took a full time job! =/ Glad you'll be able to take some time off. Sure wish I could.
amyjeans 08-12-2005, 08:02 AM hello again ladies! Congratulations on all the babies to come!!! We are quite a big group heh?
I don't recall introducing myself so here goes:
Greg (dh) and I (married 3 yrs as of July 27th!) are expecting our 3rd baby. We have a dd Sara, 2.5 and 3/4 (hee hee) and dd Sydney 10 mo.
This is our 2nd UC and first UP.
We are so excited and I am just aching to give birth again. What a ride!
Nice to meet you all!
yvonnemlv 08-15-2005, 07:54 AM Tee hee Amyjean, you did intro yourself already. :)
I haven't yet though. I turn 27 in 3 days, been married 5 years, have a cute son who turns 2 soon and still nursing at least once a day. This is our 2nd planned UC and first UP and I can't wait until the nausea stops! Actually, it's not even nausea, it's just random puking, oh well. :LOL
Oh, and I've been in Sweden for 5 years now.
amyjeans 08-15-2005, 10:42 AM pregnancy brain in full gear apparently- he he
Thanks for your message at my blog btw, yvonne- I would love to learn about those exercises you mentioned!
all my best!
KaliD 08-17-2005, 11:38 AM Hi all,
I'm due around March 12th with #2. DS will be 8 by the time this baby is born and I'm finding out how much I *don't* remember after all these years. Who ever said waiting 5+ years is like doing it all for the first time wasn't kidding!
We are all very excited, especially DS who has told everyone including the mailman and random strangers that he will have a baby sister next spring. Obviously it is too early to know if he's right about gender, only time will tell! :D
~Angela
I know its late, but Thanks Redoak for starting this thread.
krisalee 08-17-2005, 06:02 PM Hi!
We're expecting our 6th on 3/06. Our oldest, Samantha is 10, Jake is nearly 7, Kirsten is 5, Avery (a girl) is 4, and Sophie is 21 months.
We're planning our 3rd water birth at a birth center (different place than we used for the first two), and even after 5 previous pregnancies, I had forgotten just how fatiguing this first trimester can be.
MereOnceMoore 08-28-2005, 12:06 PM Hello everyone! We're due on April 1st but our first came at 37 weeks so I thought this might be where we should be. The midwife did and ultrasound and said March 31st looked better to her.
Anyway, I'm still nursing my 19 month old and finding my hormones are making me a beast. This pregnancy is a big surprise to my husband and I. We had to chart and finally resorted to Serophin in order to have my daughter. We were so elated when we found out with her. Now we're just dumbfounded. I'm glad that we didn't need to go to extreem measures but it just feels so different.
Alas, I'm glad to be here.
Meredith :1bftot: :yikes: :+
jennshim 08-30-2005, 06:15 PM Hi Ladies...
I'm new to MCD and was so excited to find this forum! We're due March 20. We've had two previous miscarriages (2/03, 5/05) and this is the furthest we've gotten! All looks good...u/s shows a healthy little one growing and tomorrow we get to hear the heartbeat...woohoo!!
I currently work FT and in October drop to PT and hopefully will continue that thru the pg and beyond.
So happy to have found you.
RedOakMomma 09-01-2005, 11:53 AM Hello to everyone new and congratulations! :sunshine
Jennifer and Meredith, it sounds like you two are carrying very special babies! Meredith--my twins :bigeyes were surprises, so I kinda know what a shocker it can be. Jennifer--I'm so glad this pregnancy is going well. Best wishes for happy heathy pregnancies for you both!!
Phoenix_Mommy_4 09-02-2005, 08:35 AM I already introduced myself, but I thoguht I would again since I found you guys here.. :wink
First and foremost I am SOOOO happy to find this forum!! I have tried so many other boards and they all just seemed like pill pushing bottle feeders...not that there is anything wrong with that for them. But they were hard to relate to. I must admit I was flamed from everything from breastfeeding to not immunizing even cloth diapering. It wasnt pretty. Its nice to find a place here that so many people have so many things in common.
Alirght so I am a homeschooling APing Mommy of three, Tyler(8), Ashleigh(5) and Heather (3). Our fourth little bean has EDD of March 25th! :love . We choose after much research and consideration not to immunize our children. We also choose a vegetarian lifestyle, cloth diapers and to live our life as free of boundries as we can :D
I am very excited about this birth simply becuase the last births were full of dread. Not because of the actul event, but because they were all c-sections. Not fun. This one will be a home water birth! For the first time I am not dreading the birthing of my child....I am simply going with the flow..its a super nice feeling. Its amazing to feel the difference in my mindset! anyway so thats sort of us in a nutshell. I look forward to getting to know you all.
cheers
Phoenix :blah
allismom 09-07-2005, 02:25 PM Hi there! Could you change my due date to March 21? Midwife changed my due date but didn't change the week I am at, so I don't quite understand that......
Is this where everybody is chatting? There are nooooooo new threads being posted, this March board seems so slow, but I don't come to this thread much, maybe that's why?
Butterfly Kiss 09-13-2005, 02:16 PM Hi Everyone & Congratulations :)
My name is Sophia, I'm 27 years old, married to Larry who is also 27 and we're expecting our first child on March 24, 06. I'm new to MDC and I just thought I'd introduce my self. I have PCOS so TTC was a little difficult but I managed to conceive on Metformin alone, for which I was very grateful. This is my first pregnancy. I'm very excited and also very nervous. I finally made the 12 week mark on Friday, so now I'm a little less nervous...but still nervous just the same. Please add me to the Due Date List and I hope to get to know you all soon :)
RedOakMomma 09-13-2005, 03:18 PM :wave Welcome Sophia! Being pregnant with your first is so special.... I hope you enjoy every minute of it (but don't feel bad if you don't :wink .... I mean, who enjoys swollen ankles?!)
Welcome!
MereOnceMoore 09-14-2005, 07:56 AM we went in for our check up and we lost our heart beat. So I'll leave you all now with the very best wishes for a safe and healthy delivery.
Congrats and good luck to you all.
Sincerely,
Meredith
Butterfly Kiss 09-14-2005, 02:24 PM :wave Welcome Sophia! Being pregnant with your first is so special.... I hope you enjoy every minute of it (but don't feel bad if you don't :wink .... I mean, who enjoys swollen ankles?!)
Welcome!
Thanks for the welcome ;) I am not looking forward to swollen feet at all!!!
So Far so good though! :D
Megs Mom 09-14-2005, 04:17 PM Oh, Meredith, I'm so sorry. :hug
amyrobynne 09-14-2005, 04:36 PM Thanks for the welcome I am not looking forward to swollen feet at all!!!
FWIW, I didn't get swollen feet with my first pregnancy, so it's not a guarantee. It was the same time of year and I think being biggest in the winter helped. I even bought boots a 1/2 size big thinking I'd need them, but they were too big all the way to the end.
Silvercrest79 09-20-2005, 09:39 AM Had my first appointmet on 9/16. My m/w let me choose the Doppler because I wanted to hear the baby SOOO bad. A very strong fast heartbeat of 150-160 (she didn't have her watch w/in reach), very active, he was kicking and rolling she had a heck of a time catching him long enough to get a good listen. :) I was 14 weeks from conception but measuring 17!! Any thoughts on this?
We are so happy. My gut has been telling me it is a boy from the very beginning, like with my first daughter my gut said girl from the very beginning. After two girls though I'm kind of leary of getting too excited. LOL
SOME of my sickness has subsided but when it comes it still knocks me down. I'm still extremely fatigued but I think it is because I have fibromyalsia.
I'm trying to get in to an OB to get an u/s for placental location, at that time we'll find out the sex. We have a while to wait though. :down
AppleCrisp 09-20-2005, 10:00 AM Hi everyone,
Posting a little late here. I'm Amy, due March 12th with an "oops" - wasn't planning on it, but I honestly didn't think it was that easy, but apparently, I'm not one of those who has to try very hard!!
I have a doctorate in the field of audiology and I work with hearing impaired people, both children and adults. My job has been my entire life so far, so this will be a very big adjustment for me. I don't know what's going to happen with that. I never thought I'd be in the position to have to make that decision.
I like this group. My husband used to be a chiropractor and through his education he really came to understand the failures of modern medicine and mainstream parenting. Unfortunately, I think a lot of people know that much of what is practiced is either useless, or actually harmful, but lack the motivation to try to figure out what DOES work and have the courage to do something different. I'm impressed with all of you so far in that respect.
Good luck to everyone.
RedOakMomma 09-21-2005, 08:01 PM Meredith~ I'm sorry this is so late--I didn't realize you had posted. :Hug I'm sorry. Wishing you peace and a lasting recovery.
ahwuko~ My mother was a teacher for the hearing impaired! She was always an inspiration to me--she dedicated her life to changing the status quo of special education, and when she passed away last year her funeral was almost like a celebration of a life well lived~~all of her former students, her former co-workers, her former administrators....they were so proud. Her job was her life, too, but as kids we never felt we were shortchanged. It's great growing up with a mom who's passionate and dedicated.
churchofdisco 09-29-2005, 11:40 AM hello everyone! my name is Kristin. I'm 21, married, and a stay at home mom to my beautiful son Canon who was born feb. 26th of '05 and I am due to have another March 10th '06. I'm so excited and couldn't be happier!
AppleCrisp 09-29-2005, 12:37 PM ahwuko~ My mother was a teacher for the hearing impaired!
Which reminds me....one of my main job responsibilities is to screen newborns for hearing loss. 50% of kids born with hearing losses have no risk factors or family history...so all those homebirthers, get those kids screened! Test is reliable, totally painless, and takes about 30 secs. per ear. Supposed to be done before 30 days.
:bouncy
giarose 10-04-2005, 04:27 PM Hi, my name is Gia and am a SAHM to ds#1, Marius (3/6/04). I'm expecting bambino due Mar. 31st. Once in awhile I get a chance to do some part-time work from home developing bilingual health education materials for migrant and seasonal farmworkers. My dh, Justin, is a firefighter here in Austin where we've just recently returned after living in the country for a few years.
Since I hit three months, my nausea has gotten worse and there is a certain time of day that I am uncontrollably tired and am pretty much useless. Good thing ds is very independent and can play by himself for awhile, so I just close us up in his room and lay down. I was still bf 4-6x/day until I got pregnant and then my supply dipped and now it seems to have disappeared. we're both very sad about it.
Megs Mom 10-06-2005, 09:22 AM Welcome, Gia! I'm sorry about the nausea. :(
rmzbm 10-12-2005, 06:46 PM Can I join the party?? :D
I am due 3/27.
RedOakMomma 10-12-2005, 09:58 PM :LOL Of course! Welcome and Congratulations! :D
rmzbm 10-13-2005, 01:01 PM :kewl Thanks!!
amyjeans 10-15-2005, 07:18 AM its official!!
There is a baby in here! :bouncy :bouncy :love :) :heartbeat :throb :D :nut
Just last night, I felt the little peanut moving about- and this time, its not gas!
Hooray!!!
RedOakMomma 10-18-2005, 10:37 PM Hey all!
People are starting to find out genders, so if anyone would like me to put a little stork boy or stork girl next to your names and due dates, please PM me or post here. I know people are announcing it in the general threads, but I don't want to post anything private (genders, due dates, names, etc.) unless I'm asked to do it. Don't want to cross anyone's privacy boundaries, yeah? :D If you send me a PM or post your wishes on this thread I'll be happy to add info! Thanks!
:love Off to put a stork boy next to my name! :love
Oh--and congrats, amyjeans! :D
nubianamy 10-19-2005, 06:03 AM I'm having a girl, and if my due date hasn't already been revised, my MW says 3/9. Thanks!
yvonnemlv 10-19-2005, 08:27 AM Well, I wasn't going to have an US or anything this pregnancy unless I felt it was needed. After last week's dislocation of my right hip, the severe menstrual like cramps and a baby that wasn't kicking for awhile, I decided to go in yesterday and get it checked out. So put us down for one very flexible baby girl! :throb
She was literally folded in half with her feet on her head and she kept swiping at her feet with her hand like it was annoying her. :LOL She also yawned twice while we were checking her out.
I am relieved that she is okay and I can understand that it must be more difficult to kick in that very interesting position. :D
LittleBirdie 11-06-2005, 06:06 PM I put up an intro email a few weeks ago and continue to lurk at MDC.
DH (30) and I (31) are expecting a our very first baby on 3/19 (blue stork, please!) I've just realized that I have been feeling the sprout for at least 2 weeks. I can't believe that I am already halfway through....
Best to you all.

http://aboutsprout.blogspot.com
Hi, can I join you?
I'm Claudia (33) and my DH (37) and I are expecting a boy on March 31st. I'm a SAHM to my DS (27 months). I'm an American living in Australia (where my husband's from) and this is my first foray into socialized medicine. I have lupus, so homebirth isn't an option I'm comfortable with and my only other option here is care through the high risk clinic at my local hospital (shared care between a midwife and a doctor). So far, I've had an awful experience, but we're working on that. I had an emergency c-section with my DS and I'm planning a VBAC for this birth.
Congratulations to everyone and I'll see you around!
(may I please have a blue stork? thanks!)

Thank you!
Jen
momto3g3b 11-26-2005, 09:49 PM Please add a BLUE stork next to my name. :) My oldest son is thrilled that the boys are going to outnumber the girls now. My oldest daughter is thrilled that there won't be another sister to share her room with. :lol The 4 year old twins are pretty sure the baby is going to magically turn into a girl between now and delivery, so they're gonna be surprised. :lol The 6.5 year old is totally excited that we're having a baby; she couldn't care less what gender it is, and the almost-2 year old doesn't have a clue! :D Dh and I are happy and just praying for a healthy baby when all is said & done.
RedOakMomma 11-27-2005, 09:22 PM As of tonight, I think everything's caught up. Lemme know if I missed anyone or any dates, storks, names, etc. :thumb
(momto3g3b~I'll be saying extra healthy baby prayers for your little one, too. :D Your kids' reactions are priceless. )
milimama 11-29-2005, 11:51 AM I'm due on the 14th, but it's twins (fraternal boys), so it will probably be February.
Megs Mom 12-02-2005, 06:19 PM Welcome! I highly recommend the Parenting Multiples forum here at MDC. :) How is the pregnancy going for you? I was on bedrest 25-33 weeks, and gave birth at 35w2d.
RedOakMomma 12-03-2005, 10:38 AM Welcome milimama! :D Congratulations, too! You never know with twins, though...my boys settled in and got comfy until 40w1d. Fifteen pounds of fun!
You're going to love having twins...it's a ringer for the first few weeks, but from then on it's such a fun, happy, unique experience. What an adventure!
Megs Mom 12-04-2005, 09:05 PM May I be so bold as to say that having twins kicked my a$$ for a good year?
M_of_M 12-06-2005, 06:46 AM Hi. I've just noticed that my nickname is still up there for March 3rd. Well, I moved to February club a few months ago. My new due date is Feb20. So, please remove my name. :)
RedOakMomma 12-08-2005, 11:18 AM May I be so bold as to say that having twins kicked my a$$ for a good year?
:lol :lol :lol
I think it's different, having twins, when you already have a child...I can see how that would increase the potential of getting an a$$-kicking experience. :D My guys were my first, though, so it could be said that I'm kind of clueless of how close to an a$$ kicking I actually got. I'm sure I'll have a much better idea once I start out with this singleton babe!
M of M....sure, no problem! Good luck in February!!
milkmommaof2 12-12-2005, 08:57 AM Hello :)

Megs Mom 01-23-2006, 01:55 PM Blue stork, please! :throb
blackberrymama 01-23-2006, 09:40 PM I'm Sarah, relatively new to these boards, and expecting my second blue stork around March 17. We were a bit disappointed to not be having a girl since we aren't planning on having anymore, but our almost-three-year-old is so funny and sweet that I guess we'll probably be okay. :)
We are hoping for a VBAC, preferably an HBAC if we can work things out with the only midwife in our area who does HBACs...it's a little stressful to be at 32 weeks and still not have all of this worked out yet!
RedOakMomma 01-25-2006, 07:41 PM :wave Welcome Sarah, and congratulations! This upcoming babe is our THIRD boy :thumb ...we're just planning on stacking the decks next time and adopting a girl. :lol Best of luck with the VBAC!! There are lots of women here doing it!
kakies 02-02-2006, 09:21 PM Hi ladies. I'm joining in a little late here. I am 35wks pregnant and baby is due on the 10th march 06. I have a 4yo dd and an almost 2yo dd. We are planning a VBA2C at home.
Blackberrymama- Your not alone, we don't have things worked out yet either. I have been bounced back and forth between midwives for months. First they said 'maybe', then 'yes', then 'no', then 'we'll think about it', and now back to hopefully another 'yes'. It's crazy they can't seem to make up their minds because it's a HBA2C.
I'm looking into getting a traveling midwife if this continues to be a problem.
But who knows if I'll be able to get one this late. I'm done with worrying... if it's ment to be it's ment to be, I guess.
Megs Mom 02-04-2006, 04:18 PM Welcome, kakies! Our kiddos and due dates are all close together (yours and mine, I mean). I'm planning a hospital VBA(1)C.
love bug 02-13-2006, 06:28 PM Hi There!
I'm another late joiner :blush
I am due March 5th with my second. Still a surprise and a planned homebirth. Our first was also born at home and hopefully all goes just as smoothly :)
The excitement is certainly building.
Good luck to you all :)
RedOakMomma 02-15-2006, 11:17 AM :D Many happy welcomes, love bug! :D
Congrats on your babe-to-be, and I hope all goes smoothly! :thumb
Megs Mom 02-17-2006, 09:54 AM Well. I am 38 weeks today. I have been having prodromal labor for a week and a half. It picked up a ton yesterday. So I got the doula over, got my husband home from work, called the babysitter to drive 2-1/2 hours up from where she was visiting her parents, at went to the hospital. To be sent home three hours later for nothing happening. It's so frustrating and exhausting and embarrassing. We kept the sitter all night so we could sleep in this morning. Sigh. DH now getting ready for work, I'm sitting here contracting and dreading the day. :crying
RedOakMomma 02-21-2006, 09:41 AM Oh Analisa! :Hug
I'm so sorry this post wasn't looked at until now!! That kind of labor is SO tough...is it still going? How are you doing???
:hug :Hug :hug :Hug :hug :Hug
manzelliland 02-26-2006, 02:32 PM I have been lurking for a few months. Noah Atticus' birth brings me forth from the dark corners to congratulate Elisabeth and her family and offer wishes of encouragement and strength to all as we enter this amazing time in our lives! Thanks to all for sharing your joys, fears, and grumbles. They have all been therapeutic through this pregnancy.
Brynn
Awaiting, with hubby and son, the arrival of a little worm sometime in March. (The 13th for date minded folks.)

hypnohobbit 03-15-2006, 06:41 PM Hello March Mamas!
Another newer MDCommuner, I am expecting a surprise any day now! LMP due date was Feb. 24 moved to Mar. 11 because of ultrasound. Labor started this morning at 6:30am with strong regular contractions and has since fizzled out. Well this gives us time to do that belly cast! We are having our 2nd homebirth, this time hopefully in the birthing pool! I hope things progress a lot faster than with my 1st birth!!!
Surprise Stork, Please!
Blessings,
-Cherie
