Why did the water for the compresses have to be distilled?

It sounds like a wonderful birth experience. Good to hear you're recovering nicely as well.

I'm due in just over 2 weeks and have been worried about what to do with ds 3 1/2, but my midwife keeps saying the birth will be at night and your story makes me see how perfect it can be that way.

I love reading birth stories! Or should I say home birth stories! Hospital births seem production line-ish (if that makes any sense...). I am glad to hear that everything is alright! :)

I also had a beautiful home birth and I believe that by sharing our stories and feelings we all become stronger!
