Being the online community that we are the boards frequently see discussion of this product or that, help finding someone or something, with questions like "Anyone know of a good online diaper supplier?" or "Where can I get a good sling?" and "Know of a midwife and doula in my area?" In the interest of developing and improving our online resources for our wonderful community and at the same time providing financial support for our dotcommune we have launched two new board categories.
The Mothering Marketplace board is where work at home moms and dads can advertise their products and services. You'll find The Diaper Store, The Mama Shoppe, Clothing, Healthy Home and Body, Arts, Crafts and Gifts, Toys, Books and Educational Products, and The General Store. The other new category is the Practitioner Listings boards where you can locate birth, breastfeeding, or health care practitioners in your area. We have Find a Midwife, Doula, or Birth Educator in the Pregnancy Forum, Find a Lactation Consultant in the Breastfeeding Forum, and Find a Health Care Practitioner in the Health and Healing Forum.
It is our hope that these boards will be useful resources for you as members and will be a beneficial advertising opportunity for Mothering-minded WAHMs, artisians, crafters, and practitioners. Please spread the word and check out the products and services and support them with your business. Let your favorite practitioner and WAHM know about the advertising opportunity the MDC now offers.
