Seventh Generation laundry detergent. I add Ecover fabric softener if i am washing "new" clothes from the thrift store to get out the odor.

Bio Kleen powder, occasionally some Bio Kleen Bac-Out if something is really stinky or stained, and baking soda when my whites get dingy.

Then out to the line for some fresh air and sun!

Most of my clothes are pretty old or second hand so I don't worry about fading.

Bi-o-kleen and there is no place to buy it here, but I love it so I order it from the US.

Depends on the clothes, the stains, and my mood ;-p

my options are:

baking soda
washing soda
borax
hydrogen peroxide
vinegar

My usual is baking soda to wash and vinegar (in a Downy Ball. Oh the irony!) to rinse.
I add a dab of peroxide to blood stains, and will use a little washing soda instead of baking soda when there's a lot of really stinky-sweaty stuff in a particular load. The borax is mostly for whitening, or for when I forget a load and leave it damp until it gets stinky. The borax fixes the smell and seems to help remove older "set" stains better than most of the other things.

Honestly, I rarely do it the same way twice, these days ;-p

We go back and forth between Ecover and Bio-Kleen powders.
I still can't figure out which one I like better. :LOL
We also have a bottle of Ecover fabric softner, but I can never remember to get down there in time to catch the last rinse.

Baking soda and washing soda should be used together, makes oxygen bleach.

I use Felsnapa, baking soda, washing soda and borax for our clothes.

I use Wal-Marts version of Downy

Traders Joe's Next to Godliness, vinegar instead of fabric softener and Borax with the stinky stuff and the diapers.

But I'm thinking about replacing Borax w/another product because it's mined. I used to use baking soda, Borax works better. Any thoughts on that?

I love my Ecover laundry detergent. (And it smells natural-good - citrusy, maybe?)
