How would I go about finding a nanny? I would like to know of a nanny service in the Schweinfurt/Wurzburg area.

Contact the local Jugendamt or place an add in the local newspaper.

I have the name of some reputable Au Pair services, as well as some contacts of other ladies in germany that have hired nannies. PM me if you are still looking and I can help you out!

You can also contact your local "Arbeitsamt" (or new "Bundesagentur fuer Arbeit"). The formal german term for a nanny is "Kinderpflegerin". A Kinderpflegerin goes through two years of schooling and internships in childcare. You can also try to find a "Erzieherin", this profession equals a preschool teacher. There are lots of Kinderpflegerinnen and Erzieherinnen looking for jobs.
Also, the local Berufsschule amy be able to put you in contact with recent graduates or seniors about to graduate.
Good Luck!

Hi, Laila.

I myself would like to nanny.. My Erahl (b. 6/20/2002) and his friends really enjoyed being in my care together in Canada. I've also taught kindergarten in Brodowin (NE of Berlin).

Originally I was looking closer to Eberswalde, where my fiancee is studying... but 200+ miles away is better than thousands.

I posted an add on craigslist:

Also, I am registered with GreatAupair
(go to greataupair.com and look up my locator number: 375570

Best of luck whatever you do,
Amanda
