Please reassure me....

OK. I had to post this, because I need to hear others expirience with this. I am about 6.5 weeks along. The past few days I have been spotting. It is just brown and when I wipe. There is no red blood. I'm minorly cramping, actually less crampy than I was when I was first pg w/ dd. I actually started spotting right after having sex on monday.... but it hasn't really gone away completely. We haven't had sex since, since I'm so nervewracked over this. I know it can be normal to spot after sex, but it has never happened like this before. I have a midwife appt. on thursday and I will talk to her about it then. I know if I call they will just say as long as it is not red, it is ok. My breasts are really sore, I'm dead tired and I have bouts of nausea here and there. I was really sick w/ DD (hypermesis) and am not so far w/ this pg. I think that is why I am so freaked out... all of this is so different from my past expirience. If I was going to miscarry, would I be spotting brown for so long or would it have already turned red by now? Oh mamas... I know I'm rambling, it's just you get so attached to these little souls right from the start. Can anyone share a similar expirience or give any advice? Thanks so much and so sorry for the :blah .

:hug I don't know the answer to your question for sure. I'd suspect it's just from the sex. I know that spotting is fairly common & cramping is fairly common but it's the combination of the two that they get concerned about. But since everything happened right after you DTD then I'd lean towards that. FWIW, I've had 2 m/c's that the ultrasound detected a couple weeks before my body did. So basically there's not necessarily any rhyme or reason to it.

My advice - try to rest as much as possible. If your uterus is a little irritable it would be best to let it rest. :hug

I didn't have spotting in my first pregnancy but did in subsequent pgs, so I suspect it is quite normal. I know it's common enough. Unhelpful though it is all there is to say is not to worry. :hug Just about everyone I know has had this.

(((Hugs))) to you! I know this is such an easy time to let our minds wander in scarry directions! It sounds to me like everything is normal enough. As already mentioned take it as a sign that you need to rest & take care of yourself.

:hug s its such a scary time isn't it. With my ds I had brown spotting at about 6 / 7 weeks. Try to stay positive, rest as much as you can :love

Hi Faith,
I am experiencing spotting and got worried so my dr. ran another blood test. So far the numbers look good and they aren't too worried. They told me to drink lots and lots of water and to try and stay off my feet as much as possible until it stops. :hug its so scary I know :hug

Sounds like it was from the sex. Remember, it takes a while for things that happen around your cervix to move down to where we can see them That may be why it lasted for a few days. :hug

Well, I just wanted to update. I was wrong about the BD session... it was the monday before I posted. So it was about a week and a half before my post and I was still spotting. We BD two nights ago (when I had posted that I wasn't spotting). That night I "a bit more" than spotted and it was bright red. My theory is that it was from the BD and there was no tissue or clots passed. It seemed like alot of RED... but I figure if you put just one drop of red food dye into a cup of water it'll all be red. KWIM? I spotted brown yesterday and today. It is barely there today. I have an appointment w/ my midwife on thursday and I will share my concerns w/ her then. I think I'm going to ask for an ultrasound because I need PROOF that everything is going alright. KWIM? I just need that extra piece of mind. That said, I'm not really crampy unless I clean the entire house or something (which I did today). If I take it easy there is barely any "stretching pains" at all. I had horrible cramping for DD, but no spotting except for right after a BD session. I'll update on Thursday. I know I don't post in here as much as I should... I'm just afraid to get too attached to you guys considering the situation. It seems like I was so confident in this pg until I started spotting. Thanks so much for your support.

Faithsmom, :hug First, let me say (I think I can speak for us all), you come here and post whenever you need to. I don't think anyone is judging who comes and how often! I certainly share your fears... maybe I do post here more often because I so want to cling to this little life.

All that said, I'm sorry that this uncertainty is disturbing you, and I hope you can get all the answers you need on Thursday. I'll be waiting to see your update then! Be well...

Well, I went to my midwife yesterday and she agreed an ultrasound to figure out the bleeding would be a good idea. I had the ultrasound. We saw a beautiful yolk sack and the heartbeat!!! What the tech did say though was she saw a long thin tear around the sack on my uterus. That's where the bleeding is coming from. She doesn't think the baby is in any danger as she's seen much worse that had healthy happy babies in the end. (technically techs aren't supposed to tell you anything) The midwifes office was closed when I got home, so they'll probably get the report today. I'm curious to see what she is going to say. So that's it so far. I'll update when I hear from the office about it.
