Hi April mamas! I wanted to introduce myself b/c if all goes well, I'll be having a baby in April! My name is Netty and I have a 7 yo ds and a 2 yo dd. My DH and I just started charting this cycle and it seems to have worked. I live in CT but am in PA visiting my sister. She had a preg. test laying around so I took it and it was faintly positive. I took another one in the am and it was faint but still positive. I have a few questions tho...

1. We "did it" 7/26 (the first time that cycle) and like 8/05 the last. Would I already be testing+?

2. With my DD I took tests for a month and all were neg. I finally went to PP and it was very faintly positive, but an ultrasound the next day put me at 8 weeks. So, does it vary from pregnancy to pregnancy (the detectable levels)?

3. Does a higher level of HGC mean multiples? I'm a twin and my sisiter was curious about that!

Thanks for any advice you guys have! Its late and I'm typing real slow and quiet so I don't wake dd, so I hope this makes sense!

CONGRATS! A line is a line, girl. You're pregnant! I don't know about twins, but your hormone levels will increase in the next few days. If you take another pg test 2 days from now, the line should be darker. I conceived on/about July 28, eight or nine days before you, and I got a faint-lined positive test about 10 days ago. Welcome!

Congratulations and welcome, Netty!

I'm not too sure about all the hormone stuff, other than personal experience: I have tested over time (as in every couple of days) at the beginning of pregnancies and noticed the line going from nonexistent to faint to dark. Also, I am fairly certain from what other mamas have said in other threads that different tests use different amounts of dye and detect levels in different amounts. I know someone else will have more specific info, but I hth for now!
