I have noticed in a lot of threads how concerned we all are with all of the 'growing pains' of the first trimester, and rightly so -- things can be a little freaky while we wait to be more certain that are babies are sticky little beans! I, too, am longing to be past my own troublesome period (I can't wait to be ten weeks), so I thought in the meantime we could take some time to think of the joys of the first trimester. Do you guys wanna play? I'll start:
*Dh is being very sweet and supportive -- even took ds out for the day so I could have a bit of a rest.
*I feel like I have had this little spirit inside of me before and I am enjoying the company again! I like being 'two'!
*We haven't shared our news yet, so I have a little secret that I hope will bring joy to my friends and family.
*Dh indulges my cravings for food and foot massages!
*I am actually eating healthier now that I know I am plural.
How about you guys?
-DH is extra attentive :love
-I get to take extra care of myself
-I have stopped worrying about my weight. I just try to eat organic food that will be good for the Bean. Lots of it :wink !!!
-I actually feel healthier because I'm not drinking alcohol, caffiene, and I'm eating pretty good!!

Ohhhh....I find it so hard the first trimester. I'm glad mommabear decided to start this thread so I can think of the positive:
-I'm so happy that there's actually a little babe in there
-I get to buy cute newborn diapers (I need kissaluvs size 0)
-...and cute newborn diaper covers (just bought a dalmation print :D )
-I get to look at books about baby names with a purpose
-I have permission to be irritable
-Dh cooks supper for the family (until the nausea subsides)

- I get to nap guilt free

- DH Looks at me like I'm some sort of fertility goddess!

Good Thread. I'm needing a positive look.
* I love that we're no longer TTC!!!
* I get to day dream about another baby and DH doesn't give me the "you're pitiful" look.
* I have DH's sympathy.
* I get to read those fun pregnancy books.
*I have an excuse to call up old friends (to tell them about our baby coming!)

Ok, I thought of some while one of my kitties is sitting on my lap.
*I can be grumpy to my dh and he doesn't take it personal like he usually does.
*I think my cat knows I'm pregnant b/c usually he wants to stay out all night and hunt and lately he hasn't been complaining that I want him to stay in. He's not supposed to be out there w/ the coyote's at night. He's actually been sticking around the front yard lately and waiting for me to come out and pet him on the lawn or he follows me wherever I go. Very unusual for him. And he curls up next to my belly when I take naps during the day. He normally curls up next to my face. I think he knows.
*the dogs love to take naps with me too. I'm never alone. :love
*I got teary eyed writing the last one.
*My heart seems to be full up and overflowing with love.
*I don't have my period, therefore I know I have a little bean in there. :thumb

~I love the excitement of knowing there is new life inside of me.
~I love that I dont have to count calories.
~I love the excitement my 7 yo has about being a big brother again.
~I love it that I am not stressing over my cycle and temps and such like when ttc.
~I love that I can eat the weird things I like and everyone encourages it since it must be a craving ;)
~I love that I finally fill out my bra. I am an A cup normally so these B's seem huge!

I had a m/s free PG #1, and hoping for the same this one, so I'd have to say that (so Far) I'm enjoying...
- the minor fatigue, and the excuse to lay down with DS each day.
- the fact that DH has just gone back to get his Masters degree, we are closing down our event production business (after 5 not very profitable years!), and I get to focus on our 27 month old, and growing baby #2
- the secret! (not going to consider telling fam and friends until after 10 weeks or so)
- pregnancy. I loved being pregnant first time around, and look forward to it again.
- the eating. I'm generally a fit, very food consuming conscious person, and I like the fact that pregnancy forces me to be even more so. I've kicked the coffee (well, i still have decaf, but it's losing it's appeal rapidly), and of course alcohol ( I do miss my occasional porter beer, however).
I guess that's it for now, but let's try to keep this thread going!
Cheers,
-

Let's see...this has really thrown me for a loop so this is a hard one.
I guess I like:
looking forward to wearing my maternity clothes again (they are cute!)
Focusing on healthier eating (nutrition for 3 now)
An excuse to sleep when DS does
Keeping a secret :wink
Keeping a journal for my baby- thinking of him/her as a person
Thanks for this thread!

I loathe the first trimester generally so this is a good thread to get me to look at some positives.
I like that there is another life growing in there and it makes me feel very "womanly" and connected to the earth in a way that my very practical and scientific nature doesn't normally allow me to!
I can legitimately dream about baby names
I am providing DD with a sibling which I think she will *love* (once she adjusts to the big change)

wow i cant believe you are able to keep it a secret!!!
thats my favorite part!! We took a picture of my three girls holding signs that said "we're having a baby!" and sent them out to everyone. today i started getting a steady stream of calls from family and friends who where so excited about #4.
i am not happy about my house being a disaster and me not having the energy to do anything about it but i do love that my hubby understands and isnt asking," so are you actually going to do any housework at all this week?"
I do love searching for baby names, talking to other pregnant mommies about all the endless topics.
and i love the dreams. they have already started big time and i dream every night about babies.
i have been feeling so ucky so this has been a great idea!! thanks

I'm still in shock at how ill I feel, so this will be good....
When I was really stressed early on, I felt that babe soothed me, and kept me centered.
Now that I'm less stressed (icky work/MS related issues), i really am feeling that babe is healthy and happy.
My senses are heightened, internally.... I felt ovulation (while I was meditating... maybe that's why I feel babe is so centered!) AND implantation, which was the wildest experience of my life thus far!
I adore my midwife, and am sooo excited for our water birth... ok, that's not really about 1st Tri. But still.
Puppy (Moose) is soooo schnuggly with me lately!
Heehee... because my MS is sooo bad, I get to work at home for a month! I'm NESTING, and I love it!
DH is a PEACH. He really is. Now, if I could only convince him that making a pregnant woman clean the toilets is not a good idea....... :LOL
