View Full Version : What is your ideal smoothie?

As far as getting the best nutrition for pregnancy.
I'm drinking:
plain yogurt
3 T. ground flax seeds
frozen strawberries and bananas
dash of soymilk
all organic
Any other ideas?

mmmmm. how did you know I'm craving a smoothie! I just don't want to go to the store & get everything I need.
I ususally do plain or vanilla yogurt (stonyfield farms)
banana
whatever frozen fruit tickles my fancy
a little wheat germ
and some ice, (I like it cold!)
Yummmmmm! Maybe I will go to the store this morning.

dd and I split one every morning:
kefir
frozen peaches or strawberries
banana
ice

1 c. soy milk
1 scoop Rainbow Light protein powder
frozen strawberries
1. T flax seeds (the Vitamix grinds them up)
I have this every morning for breakfast, and LOVE IT.

I make the lazy person's version of a smoothie, which I guess is really just blended juice. I do:
2 bananas
1 cup pineapple juice
2 cups orange juice (or enough to cover bananas - i break them off into chunky slices first)
Sometimes I throw wheat germ in - I really should do that all the time. I split the above with my girls over breakfast.
You guys are motivating me though. I need to add some protein and flax would be excellent too.

I can't stomach the idea of a smoothie right now, ick.
but when I make them I do:
yogurt or kefir
orange juice
banana
whatever fruit or berries I have lying around: strawberries, peaches, blueberries, etc.
a shot of flax oil
sometimes a sprinkle of ground ginger
I prefer it without ice
