Hi-I need some quick advice about hitting/ aggressive behavior.

My ds is 3. He recently became a big brother and we moved and he started Montessori preschool. During my pregnancy he started to hit me and his older (but very tiny and completely non-aggressive twin sisters-they were 5 at the time). He was also weaning, slowly encouraged by me. I understand that he has been through some serious changes in the past year. I am worried though about his aggressive behavior. He tends to hit if his is angry or frustrated.

Recently at a school function he pushed his sister down for no apparent reason. She hit the ground really hard, but I went straight to him and told him no, that we don't push and why did he push. I realize that I should have gone to my dd and made sure she was okay. Later, I realized that my dh was holding the baby and ds tends to get aggressive when dh isn't attentive to him.

I don't know how to react anymore to his aggressiveness. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Our situations sound similar. My child Lily is 4. She tends to act aggresivley towards her yournger brother Keegan who is 2 1/2. I try very hard to stay patient, amd discuss her feelings, or frustrations. I have read books about spirited children,a nd she fits the description exactally. She by far has more challanging than my other 2 children combined! GD is not working, and my husband today suggested spanking :( I'm so upset. Why can't I get her to respond to my loving approches? Any way my heart goes out to you. This is very trying. I hope you get some good feedback. I'll be watching ~HUGS~ ~Jess
