Hi all! I hope you don't mind if I jump in here. I found your board via the ICAN list.
I am just shy of 34 weeks pregnant and hoping for a VBAC.
My daugher (2) was born a month early by c/s due to placenta previa. With her, my water broke out of the blue and I went into labor naturally. BUT, an ultrasound that day showed that my previously diagnosed placenta previa had not completely moved out of the way.
This pregnancy, I have been on modified bedrest since 21 weeks b/c I have a shortened cervix. We're hoping to get to at least 36 weeks. Luckily, my group of OBs is very supportive of VBAC, as is the hospital where we plan to deliver. Originally I thought I'd go for the ERCS, but after researching and talking to my doctors, my husband and I have decided VBAC is the way we'd like to go. We hired a doula, and are hoping to get through childbirth med-free.
I still have my fears about VBAC, especially now that the time of the birth is drawing near. I really should have just said "fear," b/c the only real fear I have about VBAC is UR. I know that the risk is very low, it's just something that I can't get out of the back of my mind.
Anyway, I hope you don't mind if I hang out here for awhile... I really could use some support in the weeks to come!!!
