I'm only 8 weeks, but I'm a size 14 and only 5'1" and already expanding. I usually wear cotton bikinis or lowriders, but they are either too tight or sliding down my butt. I wear lowrise pants, so I need low rise undies. What can I buy that will stay in place, not stick out the top of my pants, not fall down my butt, and ride under my belly?

I have fruit of the loom low rise undies.
They are so comfortable and they don't slide and weren't too tight.
I got them in a 5 or 6 pack from Walmart.

I liked the maternity undies at Old Navy -- they were cute enough, inexpensive, and comfortable. And I think they have low rise.

Well, I admit that I went without undies after I hit about 25 weeks or so. Anything I used either went down my butt or under my belly too far, very uncomfy! Sooo, for awhile I just did without! And, my midwife mentioned she advised people to start going underwearless in the last trimester anyways to let air get to the perineum. Little did she know I already stopped wearing them!! :) After my daughter was born, I did go back to wearing my regular bikini undies.

Good luck in the Great Underwear Hunt mama!

I always just get a size (or 2) bigger of what I usually wear for when I'm pregnant.

I get thongs in my regular size. Last pregnancy, I had a problem with maternity undies giving me major wedgies (and they were really uncomfortable with ALL that fabric). So I decided that I might as well just wear something that is supposed to ride up, and this way I can wear them when not pregnant too. I've adjusted to the change. I never thought I'd be a thong girl.

My tip? Stay AWAY from the undies at Motherhood (I would never shop there again but back in the first trimester, I was young and naive, tee hee.) I have never seen such poorly sewn undies in my life. I only have one pair with the elastic fully attached to the waist! So annoying.

The low-rise panties at Mimi Maternity/Pea in the Pod are GREAT for me. They were 3/$15 when I got them - you could probalby order online. I wish I had panties like this for when I'm not pregnant. They are super comfortable.

Oh wow. thank you all so much.

Ok, I have fotl cotton bikinis now. They seem to me not to be at all stretchy. Perhaps they just don't fit. they are so uncomfy, I won't buy more.

I have been going without, but it's hot and humid here, and I have to sprint across campus 4 times a day, so I need that extra layer. I have plenty o' thongs and they all fit through pregnancy, so don't need to buy anymore of those, but they aren't really helping me out here.

Are the panties at Motherhood the same ones as at Mimi Maternity? They just changed our Motherhood to a Mimi, and I was in there looking at panties. They look great, but I had just seen what looked to me to be the same panties from Hanes. I think the hanes were cuter, but they aren't maternity. they are the lowrider kind. Should I get the regular or do i need maternity?

Last time, I had just bought these cute big full cut briefs and they fit through my whole pregnancy, even though they weren't maternity. I've never really had maternity anything. i've always just worn regular clothes (not because I'm tiny, I just don't like maternity).

kyle, let me know how they fit. I think I'll go to Walmart and get a few different ones tomorrow to try out.

I am not sure if they're the same...the icky Motherhood ones I got looked pretty cute. They had thin elastic, I can't remember how Hanes looks. I would guess that undies designed to sit below your abdomen would fit the same as "maternity" bikinis. But if they call them maternity, they can charge more. :) Oh, and I bought multiple types of the Motherhood undies, so I can confidently say they stunk for me...some from each pack fell apart. :(

I am bigger than you so I am not sure how your shape is, but most of my bikinis and low riders from pre-preg are still comfortable at 37+ weeks. They don't sit the same, obviously, but they are OK and I prefer them to the giant maternity bloomers with the crummy elastic.

I got a few from Old Navy that fit really well, nice and low the only problem is that they are not 100% cotton so hot and humid doesn't help that situation.

Ammaarah,
I was thinking that low rise is low rise, but the maternity seem to be more generous in the front. All the undies I have now are already tight or falling down, but they're all pretty cheap, and I was just getting started replacing them a little at a time with more substantial ones. The Hanes are well made with thick fabric and good elastic. I just hope they don't cost a fortune.
I'm early on, but my belly already looks about 4 months. I'm all out in front this time.
I do need to go to Old Navy to get some work clothes (ack! I'm going back to work!) so I'll check out the undies while I'm there. By the time I get over there I may have outgrown the ones I buy today.

Oops, I'm ditzy...I just re-read your OP. :P

I should clarify, my awesome works-for-the-whole-pregnancy bikinis and lowriders are from Lane Bryant. However, you are on the small side for LB, so I don't know how they fit on you. But they use a great blend that's almost all cotton but has a little bit of spandex so you don't get that saggy booty look. :D

I ended up at Big Lots, and I picked up some really cute lowriders. Really, really cute. I'm wearing purple with black lace right now! :thumb The sizes are kind of all over the place, so hopefully they will all fit me.

I like the bikini undies from Bravado Designs http://www.bravadodesigns.com they're low rise and the tummy elastic is really wide and soft so it doesn't cut into your belly! :)
