Okay I was spotting pink for a few days and the nurse said no sex until after our appt on 9/14. :irked: I certainly would not want to do anything to hurt our unborn child but I wonder if anyone else has had this issue and resorted to self gratification without penetration?

I guess there is 2 issues with sex. The prostaglandans in the semen or the oxtocin released when you have an orgasm (which can cause ctx). So maybe you should call and ask what they are concerned about and make your decision from there.

I agree you need to call and clarify wheather it is no penetration or no orgasm or both.
Then you'd know!

The "no sex" recommendation is one of my pet peeves because it so vague and makes the assumption that sex=penile/vaginal intercourse (sounds so romantic when you put it that way doesn't it :LOL ) between a man and a woman, which takes a very narrow view imo.
I am guessing what the nurse meant was no penetration or arousal/orgasm.
When a friend of mine had placenta previa (I am not saying I think this is what you have!!!!) she was advised against having orgasms for the last several months of her pregnancy. Yup--this meant self-gratification w/o penetration was off the list of accepted activities, which my friend found very difficult to endure! Hope this is just a temporary state of affairs for you!
