Just wondering if anyone told their partner or DH they were pg in a fun or unusual way?
TIA!

I wanted to surprise him at dinner (we already had a date planned for that night) but he spotted the wrapper in the wastebasket while we were getting ready. :eyesroll
He figured it was positive because I like to save the postive tests (is that weird?? :o I have my dd's in her babybook.) so since it was an empty wrapper he knew I was preggo.

I wrapped up the test in a tiny nb diaper, then asked him if he thought he'd be able to change a butt that small. I think he initially thought it was just a "look at this adorable diaper" thing, not an announcement!

DH and I had been trying for about 6 months when he was sent overseas for 5 weeks. I got a BFP about a week into his TDY. I didn't tell any of my friends. I had to tell my family because I went to visit and started having morning sickness.
I got DS a shirt that said "I'm the Big Brother". When we went to pick DH up I had DS wear the shirt. I had to actually tell DH about 4 times "Hey look at Tristan's shirt" or "I got a new shirt for Tristan" before he finally took the time to read it. ;)

I had always wondered how I would tell my dh, and this is how it happened...
I was on vacation with some friends when I found out, so they knew immediately - no way could I keep that to myself. We had a five hour drive home, and on the way I called all of my family to tell them. I wanted to wait until I saw dh to tell him. I called him as we were getting closer to our destination and told him I had a little surprise for him. I always get him small presents, so he didn't really think anything about it. While we were on vacation we had gone to this really nice boutique that was also VERY expensive. The only thing I bought was a card meant for a new baby, that had a picture of fairies standing around a baby in a basket. It was beautiful, and I thought it might look nice in a frame in the nursery. The clerk put it in a small gift bag, so I decided to put the test inside the bag. I also made out the card to my husband, because his birthday was coming up. I wrote "Happy early birthday, Daddy. Love, the Baby."
When my husband came to meet me that afternoon, I gave him the bag and told him to read the card first. He looked at it, and looked confused, so I said "Look inside the bag." He pulled out the test and stared at it for a minute, and looked at me and started saying "Oh wow!" over and over. Then he gave me a huge hug.
Dharmamama, I still have my test, too, and plan to keep it :)

Nothing thrilling... he was there with me! We'd had a negative three days before, but AF was really late, and we were both convinced I was pg anyway.... So, basically, we just confirmed it. I still have the test too! :LOL

I didn't do anything cute... I was in total shock. I got up one morning near my period, and took one just to see. And lo and behold, it was +! I went back to bed, where dh was, and told him we needed to get another test, cause I needed to cross examine! :)
The first time, it was the same situation as moosemommy. We waited in our room together, then I went and checked the test (although I already saw it was positive before I finished!) and then told him to go look becuase I didn't know what it meant. lol (which I did. I was just SHOCKED.)
This time, I had taken the test on Feb. 11th and had a picture printed out at Walmart. I told him I was framing a picture of our daughter for him, and did just that. Only, I put the picture of the positive test on the outside of the frame. It took him a minute to figure it out, since in the picture, the test was sitting right next to some wildflowers he picked out for me a week before. When he finally realized he said "...you're pregnant?....wait....when did you get pregnant?" I said "What?! You were there!" :LOL

I don't remember how I told him w/ baby #3, but he knew before I took a test that I was w/ #2 bc I was putting cayenne pepper and Tabasco sauce on EVERYTHING! And I mean everything. It was really weird. LOL!
Maybe you could ask him to pick up some pickles and ice cream on his way home or something like that. That would get him thinking. LOL!

With dd I took the test early on a Sunday morning and just left it out on the sink afterwards. When dh woke up and went in the bathroom, he came out and said "what does two lines mean?"
With ds, I made our toddler dd an iron-on shirt that said "I'm the big sister" in pink letters. Dh came home from work really exhausted and I had to keep bugging him to hold dd and he finally saw it. :eyesroll My dad thought the shirt was a hand-me-down. :hammer
I haven't decided what to do this time, first I want a confirmation with another test!

He My DH bought the test. When it showed positive, I was shocked and ran downstairs to show him the results. At that same moment my son pulled a dresser on top of himself! (He miraculously pulled out of it without a bruise) It was a very dramatic moment, although unintentional...

i kinda have a fun one. ( i love the t-shirt idea, wish i had thought of it) i was on vacation with my 3 girls. my husband was flying in to meet us and it happened to be our 5th anniversary too. i left the kids with my in laws and made a sign for him that i held up at the airport " Happy 5th Anniversary, Daddy X 4, not counting the dog!" he read it and said, 'really? wow thats good!" we kept it to ourselves and didnt tell anyone. Once we got home from Vacation i had the girls dressed up in all their dress up princess clothes and had them hold up a sign "We're having a baby" then took a pic and sent it out to everyone. it was great making a big deal about #4!!

I didn't really do anything exciting. I had a feeling I was pg, so on our way to the zoo, I told my dh to stop at the dollar store for tests. I was going to wait until we got home, but I was in the Olive Garden bathroom, and had to do it. I didn't read the instructions though, and didn't saturate the stick. There was one full line, and a corner of another line. I knew it was positive.
When we left, and were driving to the zoo, I told him I did the test. We were stopped in traffic, so I descretely took it out to show him, and explained the wierd lines. He was like "Honey-put it away! Someone will see!!!" I'm not sure what he thought they would see/think. -Oh My God-those people had SEX!!!! :LOL Anyway, we walked around in a daze at the zoo, and took another-the right way-at home.

Mine wasn't that special or anything because we weren't trying and it wasn't planned. I felt fine and my period was only a day late but we both decided we should pick up a test. We had been through this a few times before and they of course all came up negative so we almost thought we were wasting our money and that I'd probably get my period the next morning. Well, I went to the toilet and took the test, waited and then saw two lines! I was REALLY shocked! And so I went back to our room and told him. I actually was a bit freaked out (I was clucky but I never expected to get pregnant!) and he didn't believe it and said because the second line was faint it must be wrong. And so I took another one a few days later and he still didn't believe it and then we got a blood test. :down
I think he believes now! But sometimes he jokes that I might just have a beer belly and maybe I'm tricking him. :nut

Ds's favorite thing to say at that time was " nother one" so when Daddy got home from work, I handed ds the test to give to him and he said " DA E Nother one"
It was pretty cute! :LOL

With DD I tested in the morning after DH had left for work. He was grocery shopping after work so he got home really late. I made up a fake grocery list of things like bibs, diapers, etc. and when he got home I asked him if he would mind going back out for a few things. He was cranky about it until he looked at the list.
With #2, we decided it was his turn to surprise me (which is a little tricky given that he needed my pee... :LOL ). When he got up for work, I peed in a cup and went back to bed. He took the test but didn't come upstairs right away or anything so I assumed it was negative. When he finally came up, I asked what it was and he said "I don't know" because the test line was so faint. He showed it to me saying that he thought he saw something. I freaked! (We had been TTC for a long time and I doubted this one worked because we were both so sick during ovulation time).
Fun!

I said, "How many lines do you see?"
He said, "How many lines am I supposed to see?"
I said, "I asked first."
He said, "One here and the other one is really light."
Then I had to explain HPTs to him! :D
