U/S results!!!

So everything looks great so far for 16 weeks. The heart's 4 chambers are fully formed, and though they can't rule out what my son has until I have a fetal echo, everything else looks perfect. Size is great, organs/brain/spine all look fine. And SHE (yes SHE!!!!!) was sucking her thumb and wiggling all around.

The peri said 80-90% girl, and that's good enough for me!! Two girls for the Feb board so far!

I'll have a follow up at 20 weeks and then my fetal echo at 21 weeks, but I feel so much better now. When I mentioned my licensed MW (for them to send the report to), the nurse asked if I was going to have the baby at home, and I said, yes! And she said "that's neat!" They were very relaxed about my possible blood pressure issues (borderline) and don't see a need for monitoring yet, and very cool about me refusing an amnio and the AFP :D

Yay!!! Now for those girly diapers....

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!!! Girls are so much fun. And what a relief, no heart abnormalities. I am so happy for you. Do something special for yourself. You deserve it!

I don't know for sure that there are no heart abnormalities. At 16 weeks they can only tell that the 4 chambers are fully formed, that is, no major heart defects. I will not know for sure that the heart is healthy until I can have a fetal echocardiogram at 21 weeks.

That is good news. I have to say I'm a little jea :innocent lous about the estrogen baby!!! I don't think I will be able to wait till baby's born to find out this time. We will see...there is no better surprise...

Congratulations! Baby girls are so much fun! Now you can look for cute, pink, ruffly, soft girly stuff!!!! I think we are going to wait until the bean is born to find out - but then again my resolve may disappear once we get to the u/s :LOL

Oh yeah! I have scads of girly diaper fabric...she is getting one in each!!! Butterflies, hello kitty, flowers galore :LOL I have several friends with little girls who are dying to get rid of their baby girl stuff...so I think I'll be set! I did just buy a very gender neutral sleeper that I think I'm going to return for a girly PINK one!!

When I told my mom she said "I had a feeling..." but then, she would have said the same thing if I said it was a boy. She is like that--always has to be right, you know?? :nut

Woohoo! Congrats on your little one that is already healthy looking and growing so well.A little girl and a little boy to hug and squeeze so lucky!
Just wanted to add that I know she said only one but she does have a little boy at home too. :thumb
