So we had our u/s today.

The U/S went well, but they couldn't get enough detail of the heart b/c it's too early - 16.5 weeks - so they will repeat that portion at 20-22 weeks. All other organs, bones, etc were normal.

They thought it was a GIRL - yay!- but not totally sure. She wouldn't flash us well enough, kinda modest like her mama I guess. With our DS, it was all hanging out and very obvious, and we couldn't see anything like that this time. They did see three lines that they said was probably the vulva.

My quad screen was not good, we'll go ahead with our amnio as planned, next week. My placenta is anterior, so that should be interesting...

I am glad that the u/s went well. I am sure you will get a good view of the heart in a few weeks. And how fun to think that it might be a girl. That seems to be the popular gender so far!

:Hug I will be thinking about you as you get ready for the amnio.

You will know the for sure gender after the amnio. Sorry you are going to have to have that done. I will keep your in my prayers. So glad everything else looked good.

If it is a girl that will make all girls so far. With 78 mammas on this board we are bound to add some boys to that list too. :LOL but I'm ok will all girls.

I'm sorry your quad screen came back with not so good results, but, it's a good sign that the u/s looks good so far!

How old are you (not to be rude...)? just wondering because I think the quad screen loses accuracy (like it had much to begin with) with age. But I hope you get some peace of mind from the results of the amnio.

They should have been able to see that there were four normal sized chambers, but you're right, they can't see much else at 16 weeks. If they suspect something at the 20 week u/s they will probably send you for a fetal echo.

My baby was letting it all hang out yesterday :lol NOT modest like her mama ;) My placenta was a bit low too--but I don't think it's anything to worry about yet.
