Had my appt with the maternal/fetal medicine specialist today for u/s and genetic counseling. The baby was very cooperative with the technician and we knew within 30 seconds of starting the u/s that its a.....
Girl!! We're so happy! I can't wait to tell my daughters, they will be thrilled.
The dr said he doesn't seen any indication for downs, and no other problems were apparent with the baby, so everything looks good. Right at the end he did say something about my placenta. But it wasn't clear about whether he thought it was lying too low (what I "think" he was saying), or was too small. He just said I should get another u/s in 6 - 8 weeks to check it out. I have an OB appt next week, so I'll just ask my regular dr about it then.
