flower pressing

Can anyone help me out with this?
I was at a local craft store today looking to buy a microwave flower press that i had seen in a catelog. Of course, they didn't have one and i lost the catalog but they mentioned you could still do it in the microwave with either some books or bricks.....they couldn't remember which one.
I did some research on the internet and found a site that said you can microwave flowers in a heavy book as long as any metal staples were removed.
Has anyone ever done this?

Also-what do you use to "glue" the flowers to your craft? I want something "natural".

If you want to put them on a candle, jsut use melted wax and a paintbrush. then dip the whole candle in teh wax. Clear parrafin will work, you can get it in the canning section.



Ohh and when pouring candles there is a thing that happens where the area around the wick will sink. Before it is hard, you are supposed to stick a chopstick down the wick to help release any air trapped down there. the center will cave in a little after you do this THEN you pour enough wax in the depression to cover it.

eerrr...no but I did see flower presses at the Discovery store...they have a website they may sell them online....
