The pink lines were barely dry on my test when DH and I pulled out our name book and started tossing names back and forth! :LOL
We're set on a boy's name (carry over from DD).....Quinn Joseph
But a girl's name is anyone's guess. (DD is Lilia Hope...Lily/Lil.) Some that are on our list are...Phoebe, Chloe, Sophie, Sally, Violet, Julia, Audra, Caroline, Greta....I think there's more but that's all I can think of right now.
Anyone else???
~Erin
:love
PS ~ I bought the Baby Name Wizard (http://www.babynamewizard.com/) book.....It is SOOOOO cool!! :)

We've had the same boy name since being pregnant with our first, Benjamin Bradley. Girls name, NO idea as of yet! The funny thing is that if we have a boy, our kids will be Rachel, Emma, and Ben!!! "Friends" anyone???!!!!!! We get grief already when I tell people what our girls' names are!! :LOL And yes, we do love "Friends", but that's not why we named our children those names!! :LOL

Oohh. I had a semi-dream, semi-waking name pop into my head in the wee hours of the morning, made up, as far as I know. I forgot to tell DH. I'm so glad you posted this thread & reminded me! Madrelyn. Probably as a second name for a daughter - Madre meaning mother and Lyn(n) being my mom's and best friend's middle names (2 spellings).
I have more names picked out already (and have for months) than I intend to ever have children :LOL
Here are some of them. DH isn't on board with some of them, but then I didn't think he liked the boy name I had my heart set on for DS either until after he was born. So maybe . . .
Wylde Robert or Wylde Archer - our DS's name is an unusual W name, so this would match, and the two possible middles are after our two grandfathers we didn't name DS after.
Eostara Nell (or Eostara Madrelyn?) - Star is a family name for girls and I like unusual and this one is a germanic name for the spring goddess. Nell is DH's grandma.
I had these two dreams last spring that if I got pregnant on either of DH's brother's birthdays, I would have twins. One night, DH told me this, and one night MIL told me this. Though I know I did NOT get pg on day 14 of my cycle, LMP started on one of my BIL's birthdays!!! While I will be (temporarily) FREAKED out if I turn out to have twins - I used to think they sounded like fun, until I had one baby & realized how much work it is - I have really cool twin names picked out!
For girl/boy: Eostara & West (okay, it's a little over the edge, but c'mon, it's COOL)
For girl/girl: Dortha & Danika (DH's other grandma, and Danika means star, and me, my mom, and my maternal grandma all have D names. They would be Dori and Dani. So cute.)
For boy/boy: maybe Wylde & West?

Those are all great names guys!
Are you kidding? I've been thinking up baby names since I was 12. Kept a running list in my journal! Mostly boy names though. I never could find any good girl names.
I had a girl name all picked out last pregnancy, b/c I just knew D was a girl. Then of course, was the ultrasound with the big ole penis. :LOL
Erin, you stole my boy name! Actually, I want to name him Tarquin and call him Quinn. That's the name of a character in an Anne Rice novel and I love her books. ANd I don't really want to name my kid Lestat, Louis, or Armand!
As for a girls name, I"m not sure. I'll probably go with the name I had picked out from before, Alora or Elora. Not sure though. I also haven't really picked out middle names yet.

I Love Quinn,we were thinking about it if DS was a girl,i think it's pretty usable on both sides.such a lovely name :thumb
With Griffin we also liked Finlay or Jude, but griffin and finn(what i would call him)would be a bit much i think :nut
So maybe Max for a boy or Harry or Henry even William, all the traditional ol' English Names.I'm being Boring here you guys have some great names,I do like Felix or Casper but Dh would laugh me out of the Birthing room!!! :LOL Thomas for a middle name after my late Grandfather .
For a girl I love Olivia, very popular but still I love it.I also like Lila alot.Alice is another,
I obviously need to get my book out and do my homework :bouncy

For a girl I like Abigail Faith or Abigail Grace... Actually I even like Faith as a first name or Grace... we'll see...
For boy... We had chose Ezekiel for the baby we lost, but I really like it, so I am trying to convince my DH to use it as a memory of our little baby. He would go by Zeke... :D Still have 9 months to hink about it... hehehehe

For a boy we are thinking Branson Sage. I haven't sold my husband on Sage yet but we both really like branson. We were very close to naming our first daughter Isabella but I don't think we will use that now. OUr daughter is Alivia Rose. I like Violet, Grace, we are just begining who knows what we will eventually come up with.
We also like Marlin

I had originally gotten this baby name book to look up family names and such, so I told myself :wink , then quickly got wrapped up in names for our own then as yet to be babes. Some I picked out: Girls- Hasia, Vashti, Sakuna, Shakima, Sumalee, Mayra, Zemirah, Adanna and a host of others. Boys- Avi, Azuriah and Elijah. Haven't gotten as many boy names as you all can see. :Sheepish: I'm just having such a hard time picking out boys names, I don't know why! And a girl's middle name would definitely be my mama's :love first and middle names, hyphenated probably, Cathy-Ann. I don't think DH has given it much thought.

Ah the name game...it took us 9 months last time to agree on a name, so we are already at it this time.
Girls name I already know but boys names - no clue. I really liked Preece but DH ruined it by calling him "priss" - oh the things to consider when choosing a name...;)

We have a Raymond Joseph and an Arianna Renee so I want a girls name the sounds good with Arianna and a boys name that sounds good with Raymond.. SOO... right now its, Alana Rae and no clue for the boys name.. but so far my favorites of Clayton or Chayton, dh doesnt really like those names so I dunno what we will do LOL.. but name choosing, I believe, is THE hardest part of being pregnant LOL

For a girl we've considered Carolyn Esther, Carolyn Eleanor, or my current fave Carolyn Sky. She'd go by her middle name, so that's the one I have to decide on. Carolyn is my late MILs name. Plus my mom is Carol Anne and my grandma is Caroline, so it seems fitting. But, I'm not sure. I really like Sky, but our last name is only one syllable, so I'm not sure it sounds right if you don't say the Carolyn part.
If we have another boy, who knows :scratch ? I really like Solomon, but dh prefers Benjamin, which I like but not as much. Besides, I think it's too common.

Well, not so much thinking of names, but thinking of ways to convince DP that the fabulous names that I really, really, really think we should pick are good ones. He is quite the stick in the mud when it comes to names. We have 2 girls so still have yet to use the boy names we chose. And I am still attached to the fabulous girl name (Rowan) that I really really wanted for my last one. The middle names are set (will be family names) so I don't have to worry about that, just that the first name flows with the middle.
Does anyone else have DP's who have completely different ideas about what names to pick? Oy we go on and on over this and I make him read the book of 20,000 names each time :LOL
OK, just freaked him out by saying "We need to think about names!" in an urgent tone. Oh Mama is so evil..........muhwahwahwa ;)

Fun thread! Cool names too. Ds got his name 24 hours after his arrival, even though it had been on the top of our list from day 1, ehrr, day -1000 or so :p The girl name that was high up there during ds pregnancy was Annika. We still like it, but wonder if it's not too close to Yanek in sound. Other girl's names we like are Sophie/Sofia, Maia, Lara. Kinda stumped on the boys names now, guess 'cause dh is hoping so hard for a girl :wink

MAMA2EMMESON Carolyn sky is beautiful,I do love Ben but if Benjamin is to common what about Bennit or Benidict?just a thought :)
So I think it probably going to be Olivia for a girl, livvie for short :thumb
I like Oliver for a boy now,Olly for short :thumb
I change my mind like the wind though so I will probably keep adding to this post :LOL
Names are fun. I've had mine picked out since 2003. My son has a very solid name: Joshua David. If we have another boy, I like Xavier Douglas ( middle names are maternal and paternal fathers' first names). But I like exotic names for girls like: Mhina ("meena"), and Angelie. I had a great friend in college named Anjali which means sanskrit in Hindu. Since, I love the name and we aren't hindu, I decided to spell it different.

How to follow up the name Wolfgang?! I prefer names that are easy to say, easy to spell (can you guess why???), 2 syllables, and compatible with our heritage. Many german girl names are brutal though, to the English ear. I can't say that I recommend difficult-to-pronounce exotic names. My experience has been that it can be a social barrier when you have to have a 5 minute conversation about your name each time you introduce yourself...

Does anyone else have DP's who have completely different ideas about what names to pick? Oy we go on and on over this and I make him read the book of 20,000 names each time :LOL
LOL DH and I have agreed to disagree on this issue...he says that he likes names which sound "normal" (translation: names of people he already knows. Any name we come up with would obviously not be the name of someone he already knows, so it sounds "weird" to him. He's essentially accepted that we'll select a name, he won't like it at first, and it will grow on him eventually (what a guy!)
I really like the Alora idea...I've been trying to come up with potential names to honor my late grandfather, Al.
Sage is my daughter's middle name, and I get compliments on it all the time (about 60% of the time I call her by her fn & mn, so people hear her mn a lot). I think it's a winner :D
For a boy, I like Asher, Miles, Levi at the moment.
For a girl, I'm not sure. We used our top pick for DD, and the other names we were considering for her have been used by close friends/family members since then, so they're out...back to the drawing board.
Overall, I like timeless names that are not too popular (unfortunately, classic, turn of the century names ARE what is popular these days). Even DD's name has jumped over 50 spots in the popularity rankings since we named her 2.5 years ago. Ah well.

I can't believe it--I'm constantly thinking about baby names, but until I read this thread, I hadn't thought of names once since I found out I was actually pregnant! I have no idea what we're going to do. Dh is the typical husband who thinks it's his duty and obligation to make this as difficult a process as possible! He gets a look of disgust on his face with EVERY name I come up with, and when I ask him to suggest something, he'll say some random Bible name like Habbukuk! He's of course, not serious, but I might have to do what my mom did, and get a pet that we can give weird names to so my husband doesn't think he has to use those names on our CHILD! (We had cats named Thorndike and Barnheart growing up!)
Amazingly, when we first got married and I brought it up, we were able to agree on a girl and boy name: Sariah and Caleb. We had a girl, so she's Sariah, but now I do NOT want to use Caleb because it is so popular. I don't mind names that are somewhat common, but it seems almost everyone around here has at least one son named Caleb, and I don't want my kid to be "Caleb #5" in his classes.
For boys, I like Tyler, Trevor and Kevin, which I know are common, but I don't know many young kids with those names now. For a girl, I really want Melanie, probably Melanie Lenae, but Matt hates both, of course. I told him if he continues to be difficult about this and doesn't come up with anything else reasonable, Melanie Lenae is going on the birth certificate!
Sheesh, I'm even long winded writing about baby names! Sorry!

We are!! With DS#1 we fought tooth and nail over names and didn't name Noah until he was several days old. It was the one name we coud both agree on. Now we realize that it is perfect and he could be no other name.
For DS #2, believe it or not, we have already chosen the names.
Boy - Judah
Girl - Ruby Mame (Mame is for my cousin Mamie Rose who passed 1.5 years ago).
Middle name will be something Hawaiian. It has to be a dream name so that'll come a lot later.

I just made a post about this on the pregnancy board - I think I put it in the wrong spot. I'll copy it over:
With my first baby, we knew his name within hours of finding out we were having a baby - we both loved the name as soon as it was mentioned. We also had a very strong feeling, right from the start, that he was a boy. Second time around it was different - I didn't know for sure what his name would be until after he was born ... and I had no idea about gender. This time I've had names coming to me in dreams. I still have to get a 'feel' for the child - no real feel about the sex yet, but I'm definitely having more girl dreams than I've ever had before.
Claude seems to be popping into my head for a boy - not a name I'd usually choose, but it feels 'comfortable' if that makes sense. We're not living in Europe at the moment, though, and I worry that it will be seen as too feminine. Not that I really care what others think - and the likelihood that we'll be moving back home within the next few years is high. Marcel is a possibility as a middle name, as is Henri (both family names).
Mathilde is coming to me for a girl. Middle name will probably be Amelie or Anais for my Grandmothers. Georgette and Camille are also coming to me.
Perhaps this baby is intent on choosing its own name. I know it's only early, but the urge to choose names and have them settled is really strong - usually I'm a bit relaxed about it, figuring it will happen when it's meant to.

We've tossed a few around.
For a girl,
we really like Vivian Louise after my DHs grandmother. May change it to Olivia Louise, but I like Vivian best.
For a boy,
I wanted to choose the name Wiley James (after my great grandfather, at my dad's request). DH vetoed that so we came up with Bonner James, but DH vetoed anything with BJ or BM as initials. So perhaps, Bonner Edward.

busybusymomma- I must say that Catherine is a lovely choice! :LOL (It's my name and I go by Cat). It's classic, but not too common. Especially these days, it seems to have fallen out of favor.
I also really like the name Ivy. That's one of the one's we've been throwing around.
I have now bought 2 baby name books. I have the Baby Wizard book, which is really cool. And, one of those 50,001 baby name things. I really dislike almost all boys' names. This could be a problem. The one's I do like are super common now, and I don't really want to do that. Unfortunately, ds's name has already jumped a lot since we named him (Emerson). He's named after dh and my maternal grandfathers. So, it was easy.
I am so clueless as to what to name this next babe. I like lots of unusual, but not too weird girl names (Lavender, Ivy, Serenity, Liberty, Sky, etc). But, dh is a little resistant. We just haven't found one that we both love. AUGH!
This is driving me mad! :nut

We're Jewish, so we're naming in honor of relatives who have died. We actually found out we're finally (FINALLY! :banana) pregnant the day before my dh's uncle's funeral. So, in his honor, we'll probably go with an "R" name. Right now, Rilke is our fave, but that might change...
(We're pronouncing it "Rilkie" instead of "Rilka" like the actual German pronunciation of Rilke. We may even change the spelling, don't know. Tho I like "Rilka" a lot, too.)
And oh -- this one seems like a unisex name to us... tho a little more like a girl than a boy. But depending on the middle name (which will be her/his Hebrew name, if we go with Rilke... tho we're also looking at Hebrew first names), it could go either way.
The middle name will be in honor of someone from my family. Either a "D" name, or an "M" or "H" name. Or an "F" name in honor of my best friend who died when I was eight...

Yes, my husband is one of those, "nasty" everytime-I-say-a-name guys. :LOL With Rachel we chose that before we were even pregnant! And same with Benjamin, just always loved that name. With Emma I had just found out that I was pregnant, and we were watching "Friends" when Rachel gives birth, and she said "Emma", and we were like, yep, that's it!!! :LOL
We've tossed around a couple girl names, we both love Ally, so we found Alliana, call her Ally for short, and Brad ACTUALLY likes Gabrielle/Gabriella!! I about fell over! He is a very traditional namer. :LOL

Well, as much as the Turnip's grandfather identifies with Forlong the Fat (Dad's really not that big, but it's a big joke with him), I don't think I'll be honoring that little snippet of family history with the babe's name.

We are either going to do
Evelyn Elizabeth (Evie) or Elizabeth Clairece for a girl. She would be named after her 2 living great grandmothers. (I was and I think it would be a neat tradition to start/carry on).
I also love Ainsley Elizabeth, but Ainsley is becoming popular around here and it uses 1 ggmas name and not the other.
I have no idea for boys names. I really liked Blake, but now that I'm pregnant and it really could be IT, I'm not so sure. lol

Dh and I have been plotting our baby names for about a year! We have several girls' names we like, but we're really struggling with boys' names.
For girls:
Lyra Harper or Lyra Jade is our first choice.
We also really like Natalia Jade or Natalia Rose (nickname is Tasha).
Other names:
Charlotte
Annika
Sasha (as a nickname for Alexandra or on its own)
Olivia/Liv (though we won't use this one, b/c it's too popular right now)
Lucy (although dh is lukewarm on this one b/c he thinks he'll feel compelled to do his Ricky Ricardo impression non-stop!).
I also LOVE the name Amara, but it's too close to my name (Amanda).
For boys: I think we'll probably go with Asher Hart. We also like Aiden, Aleksander (Sascha would be the nickname), and Ilan.
We're obviously attracted to names with "ash" sounds in them!

My husband likes simple names. I like unusual names. My position is that if I have to carry this child, I'm going to name it!
The middle name will be my maiden name, boy or girl, since my (female) cousin and I are the last of this particular line of the family, so whatever the name is has to fit with an Irish middle name and German last name.
For some reason, I keep coming back to "Fiona" for a girl. Now to sell my husband on it....

Thinking about names, yes...with a sense of foreboding. :LOL
I'm super picky about names. I do not like anything with the letters O, U, H, F, G, W, X and usually dislike names with J, P, R in them. Plus, the name has to look good in cursive. It has to be easily spelled, and conventionally spelled. And any names that are left, DH doesn't like.
Last time, Blake Stanley was the only name that we both didn't hate for boys. Avery Celeste for a girl, but we've since decided that Avery is too popular.

Oh fun, I want to join in.
If we are having a boy, we are going to name him:
Charles Leonard (called Charlie)
after my husband's father and grandfather
If we are having a girl we have 3 top choices:
Eleanor Briden (called Ellie)
Isabel Briden (called Izzy)
Naomi Briden (called Naomi :-)
Briden is my middle name, my mother's middle name, grandmothers, etc... it goes back quite a few generations.

or,

If a girl:
Claudia
Veronica
Maria
Claire
No ideas on middle names yet for girls...

What great names you guys have picked out! We have the hardest time picking names- my dh is so stupid when it comes to naming children! For Zachary- I compromised with him and let him pick the first name so that we didn't *have* to name him Justin Richard W., Jr. (not a big fan of Jr. names here) so I picked his middle name Caleb. With Alden, I read it on another board and liked it- it just felt right as soon as I read it and his middle name, Charles, is after my dad who is deceased.
Now with #3- who knows if this kid will EVER have a name. Dh was stuck on Isabelle for a week or so but I have finally talked him out of it, I think. So the girl name of the week is Sarah Evelyn nn Evie. Sarah is one of DH's maternal great-grandmothers and Evelyn is for his paternal great-grandmother who is still alive (at 98 years) and such a sweet perosn, I would love to be able to honor her. Not that it matters though because I have a feeling it's going to be a boy anyway.
For a boy, I have my heart set on Henry- no reason, I just like it. DH hates it with a passion but can't tell me why he doesn't like it- so it will remain at the top of the list until he can come up with a valid reason for not using it. :LOL

Dh woke me up last night just as I was zonking out and said, "for a girl, how about Ashley Lynn?" He wants Lynn after his sister who died when I was pg with ds. Ashley Lynn is my cousin's name though so I think we'll keep looking for another first name. :LOL Dh and I like different sorts of names so it's hard.

I love this thread, such creativity! :love I'm another of those with a weakness for LOTR names, but who can't actually bring themselves to use any in real life! :LOL Although Pippin and Merry would make such FUN boys' names, wouldn't they? :p
Anyway, I love the whole baby name concept, such fun! I can amuse myself for hours thinking up baby name combos; what great, free entertainment! :p DH and I always go round and round, starting about now, 'cause it'll take about that long to come to an agreement :LOL....
(Oh, not to mention the various other suggestions of "Harry Potter! Poo-poo Head! Briar Rose!" -- gee, 100 pts. if you can guess which dear child suggested which -- from the family peanut gallery. :rolleyes So helpful. So productive. Of course, Charlie did end up with Fiona in her name thanks in small part to the movie Shrek (and b/c of a distant cousin), so maybe we do pay more attention to their input than I'm letting on... ;) )
If this one's a boy (and I'm hoping it is), my current favorite is Ian Edmund. Ian is negotiable, but Edmund is pretty firm -- we started a family tradition of using our fathers' names as boy middle names, and my dad and DH's dad got the first two, so now it's my stepfather's turn!
I also like Devon, Gavin, and Duncan (and they go well with our other boys' names, something I always give weight to.) Because I like them, typically, DH hates these names. He likes Alec, which isn't bad, but I prefer Alex, which he hates. He also likes Graham; eh, I'm lukewarm. Ah, but it's all good, it's all part of the negotiation process :LOL ...
I'm having a FAR harder time with girls' names this time around (probably b/c I'm so set on this baby being a boy; hmmm, I'd better watch out with that attitude! :o) But...whine...we've already used up our favorite ones, lol -- Charlotte's full name is Charlotte Fiona Marie (loooong story on why the wee lassie was saddled with TWO middle names; alas, she's a victim of internal family politics), and that impressive configuration of letters pretty much used up all the girl names we had liked.
Hmmm, let's see.... I like Maeve, I like Moira. I like Juliette (but that would be overkill with Charlotte.) I like Keeley. Dh likes Niamh... Darn those Celts, mucking up perfectly good names with random and unnecessary letters! ;)
Obviously, we have a ways to go yet!
To the poster looking for good German girl names, some of my favs when I lived there (that aren't hard on the ears ;) -- and I know what a challenge this is, being a former German interpreter myself!) were Julia, Mia, Ava, Sabine, Klara, Corinne, Emilie, Karina, and Lotte. But yep, I'd probably steer away from Gudrun, Helga, Ulrike, and the like! :p

wow... you mamas are waaay ahead of us!
count me in as one who has an uncooperative dh. in fact, this time around he wants to know the sex so we don't have to go through the trouble of finding one name. what a wet blanket, huh?
last time it was more or less all me and him rolling his eyes or just flat out saying no. we had our boy name set- Liam, and he refused to consider any others, even though I claimed that we needed an alternative in case he came out not looking like a Liam. no budging.
of course, we had a girl, and our names were either raelin or maisie (pronounced like macy) and chose Raelin. We both loved that name when we heard it but man, did i give up some names i loved to get there!!
regardless of whether we find out the sex this time (which we didn't last time) we are not telling names to anyone (tho maybe just here on the boards... ;) ) because we got so irritated with how free people were with their opinions last time. i figure if you show them an adorable baby attached to a name they don't like, they'll suck it up because there's an actual baby attached to it.
anyway... no contributions yet from me...i'm kinda floating along in this pregnancy, waiting to see what comes. though, i might check out the baby wizard....
eda: one of my best friend's middle name is Arwen, for LotR... i love it... it flows great with her name: Madhavi Arwen. Of course, since she's 30 almost no one except die hard fans recognized it until the movies came out.

dh has a second cousin named Galadriel (born in the mid 70s) :LOL
I think we're pretty firmed up on Carolyn Sky for a girl and Solomon David for a boy.
The David may be negotiable still though. I had 2 moderately serious boyfriends with that name. Oddly enough it's not dh who has the problem with it, it's me.

Guinevere,
Where in New Mexico are you? I grew up in Farmington and went to college at NMSU. I miss green chile!!
No decisions yet, but we've talked. I don't think dh will be willing to get serious on anything until I start to really show, or he starts to feel like it's truly happening. (I still hear him say. . . "when you're pg, we'll do . . ." and I say - what do you mean, WHEN? :LOL It's obviously just not real to him yet.)
But anyway, we've always liked Rowan, but with our last name (Orr) it just doesn't work. He likes Mireille, I like Helene (my g-ma's name), but I'm worried about Helene as a first name when it comes to initials: H O, or H Orr. DH says don't worry, and maybe I'm too consciuos about it, but we've got time to decide, I say. (anyway, Mireille Helene O is OHM backwards, which I also like. :LOL )
For a boy, we like Teevan Aidan (I love the initials TAO), but again, no decisions have yet been made!
You gals have such great ideas!!

*waves to Stacy* Hi there! :) We've lived in Albuquerque for the past two and half years (really like it here), but before that, we lived in Deming, NM for four years. I had baby #2 in El Paso and #3 in Las Cruces! :D And green chile is its own food group, isn't it? :p I'm very, very fond of it myself! ;) One of my closest girlfriends here is from Farmington, too! :)
I'm actually a NM transplant, though -- grew up in Pennsylvania, so I'm a looooong way from home these days! :LOL

We've been thinking for quite a while
stella jane
maggie (Margaret)
eli (elijah)
I don't really like the name Margaret, but I want her to be able to have amore formal sounding name when she is older. I would like the middle name to be a family name, possibly Louise.
If anyone has any ideas on how to make Olga sound nice for a middle name that would be great. It is my dear, dear grandmother's name. My son has my grandfather's name as his middle name.

I have a friend named Olga (she's originally from Russia) and somehow she manages to make the name cute, just because she's a cute person and it seems to suit her. Particularly as a middle name, I don't think you need to worry as much about it being "stodgy" or whatever.
I love the name Eli by the way!

Too funny - I am SO into what your inititals spell. LOL. I wanted to name DD Ellerie Elizabeth but with our last name it would be EEL. Not cool.
:D
I also like the name Olga. I just think it's a pretty girl name. I knew twins in high school - Ester and Olga and they were SO beautiful, so as a result I like both of those names.

We are already thinking about this, but are totally STUMPED!!!
The first letter of our kids names spell out our last name!! The last 2 letters we have left are O and N. For a girl we have Naomi Mercy and are really stuck with that. But we need an O boy name!! And we are totally LOST on this one. I could use help, and please no suggestions on Olaf, that is in all the name books! And the middle name for the boy will be Chasid (it means grace and mercy in Hebrew).

If you spell it Orin or Orrin, it's a Celtic name, too. So he'd be comfy in Ireland and Israel! :D

Hee hee...I love both Mariska (pronounced Marish-ka) and Olivia, and I think it's because I'm a huge fan of Mariska Hargitay (and her character, Olivia Benson) on Law and Order: SVU. However, my niece is named Marisa, so Mariska is out. And Olivia is just too darn trendy these days--plus my parents' dog is named Oliver, so it seems a little too close.
Stella is really cute!

I like Olivier but DH used his veto power on that one. Stella is super cute too, as is Estella. Oren is another old favorite of mine. I think we've picked our names here but I don't want to tell them because I'll probably flip-flop on them!

I really like the names you guys are coming up with! WOW
So far we like Arcelia for a girl, we will need a middle name that starts with an M, but is not too long as we have a really long last name
If we have a boy we like Gabriel and a middle name with a J
The middle name thing is an old family tradition, females take the initial of moms middle name and boys of dad
our DD is Kathleen Monet as I am a Kelly Mae ( the K thing is just coinsidence)
I really like Orin Chasid and Mariska wow!
I like creative original names, BUT DH likes traditional, not far out there names ( I was a Kelly, he was a Santino I had a simple maidin name, he has a name no one can say- that may have something to do with it)
