My husband is a member of the Chamber of Commerce here and each month a business hosts an open house type thing with free food or something.

This month, the business hosting is a new Medical group opening up,a nd its a family open house they are doing. They will have some health screenings, kids activities, and food. AND the OB clinic is doing free 3D ultrasounds!

I got all excited and wanted to go do it. Its next Thursday.

BUt then I started thinking maybe I shouldnt. I dont know why, I feel like since its not my dr, maybe I shouldnt do it.
PLUS I *think* I am getting my u/s on the 12th at my dr. Originally he said at 20 weeks, but then the way my appts fell, he said maybe at my next appt, which is in 10 days.

I think it'd be nice for the whole family to see the baby, since no one will be going with me when I have the one at my dr.

Am I silly?

I would do it. I'm assuming since it's at an event like this it would be a pretty short ultrasound just to get a peek and a quick 3D photo, which I think would be cool - I'm sure they are not going to be doing any measuring or in depth looks at organs, etc, which is what your doc will do at your 20 wk ultrasound. I would not go to one of those mall-type places that do long ultrasounds and set the video to music and all of that...but for a quick look performed by a trained medical sonographer (which I would think this would be given that it's sponsored by an OB practice) I'd go for it.

I would do it too. It sounds like an exciting opportunity that you won't get again, and, as danav said - it's a professional doing the procedure.

I wouldnt do those mall u/s either. Its funny, I got a postcard in the mail today from fetal photos! How does everyone know I am pregnant??? LOL

I assume too it will only be a quick look for fun. And it will be fun having all my kids be able to see it too.
ok, now I am excited! only 6 days! and maybe we can see the sex then! :)

I wouldn't, personally, if I were having another one so soon afterward. Can you take your family to the one at the Dr's office? We took DD to ours yesterday; I thought at 4.5 years and loving babies she'd be really into it, but she wasn't. I can hardly blame her, it was hard enough for me to tell what things were!
