Oy!
I had pretty strong cramping in my second pregnancy but still I am taken by surprise again. I also am having some brown spotting. I know all of this is very very normal but I will be so glad when it is done YKWIM?
The MW sent me for a blood test and the first half looks good. Will go tomorrow for the second half, which I hope will be increased.
I took Vitex to support the luteal phase and still took it this past week. I wonder if this is causing some of the cramping? Anyone have any experience with this?
I love being pregnant, but I also don't love some parts of it :LOL

i'm with you on the cramping. no spotting, but lots of cramping, and diarrhea. and boy, am i spacey today!
i had cramping with ds, too, so i know it's normal, plus increased cervical fluid, and the combination of the two keeps me running to the bathroom "just to be sure!"

Me three!
I was actually really upset yesterday because I was convinced AF was going to show up I was cramping so much. No AF so today I took another test (the one on Thursday was -) and there's a line! I'm just so in shock I can't even believe it!
I've still been having cramps here and there today, but at least now I know that they're not AF (*knock on wood*). But, I don't remember this with Lauren...how long does it last?

Hi mamas. I am glad to read this thread, as I am having some mild cramping too. Before the test, I just thought it was AF coming. Now I keep wondering if I may miscarry. This is my 4th pregnancy and I never had any cramping w/the others.
Does anyone know what causes the cramping? Should I rest more, or just go on w/every day life?
TIA.

Max, my cramping (and everything else for that matter) has been stronger this pg and it's my 4th too. I think with each pg things like this seem to get worse. It's like those afterpains that get worse after each one too...not looking forward to those :LOL

I am cramping also, but no spotting. I had cramping with all of my other three pregnancies, but only spotting only with the baby I lost. Sometimes spotting might mean nothing, it's a good thing you are having it checked out. Let us know what you find out! :wink

Thanks maybebaby. That makes sense.
I forgot about the afterpains. :crap

I remember having a bit of cramping with ds and braxton hicks very early... I don't remember just how early but I believe I was feeling baby flutters at 14 weeks and having bh shortly thereafter.
This time I've had cramping off and on constantly. I think it's actually a little less now than it has been at any point so far. I have noticed the cramps usually go away if I pee or get a drink.... maybe I just need a reminder to do those things? :LOL
I am so totally having some kind of afterpain herbal remedy on hand... the afterpains with ds were horrible and that was only my 2nd birth! :o

I'm NOT spotting nor having much cramping, this time. With my ds, I had bad cramping and intermittent spotting for the whole first trimester. I was FREAKED (afraid I was miscarrying every time.) Had the blood tests, plus two ultrasounds, 1st to make sure it wasn't ectopic, and 2nd to confirm baby was alive. I don't think I would do the ultrasounds again if I experienced the same thing over again. But, they did dx the problem as a "subchorionic hemorragh" meaning that a little tiny spot on my uterine wall was bleeding, which irritated my uterous, causing the cramping. The blood leaked out slowly, hence the spotting. And it was small enough and not anywhere near the baby so that it caused absolutely no actual problems with the pregancy - just made me miserable. So (((hugs))) to those of you dealing with this now - you've got my sympathy and thoughts and prayers.
Oh, I did get a little crampy day before yesterday & I'm pretty sure it was from mild dehydration. I got myself a liter water bottle and am pushing 2 of those on myself a day, and I feel fine (well, other than the fatigue and the nausea :LOL) again.

I'm glad to see this thread here! My cramping is pretty mild and not all the time. The same holds true for the spotting, very light and 3 times I think it's been over the last few weeks. I know this can be some of the things that can happen in early PG and does not necessarily mean M/C is imminent but it FREAKS ME OUT! :o I check every single time I go to the bathroom. :bag: I haven't been to my 1st prenatal exam yet and I'm getting pretty anxious to see my Little Pea just hangin' out, doin' their thing, heart beating and all. :bgbounce

You crampy mamas are making me feel much better.
My bleeding has decreased, my bloodwork looks good, and the cramps are less for now. I am tapering off the vitex.
Intellectually, I know it is all normal, but still it is hard to be comfortable with it. Oy!
I hadn't thought about the afterbirth pains....yeah those hurt much worse the second time. I guess the uterine muscle has memory doesn't it. Makes sense.....
thanks for sharing.

Hi all. I also have been having cramping (sometimes quite painful and ALWAYS on my left side). Does anyone else only have the cramping on one side? I had an ectopic pg in 2001 (can't remember what side it was on) and now am really getting nervous. I'm at 7 weeks and doc wants me to have an u/s (scheduled for tomorrow). I am such a pesimist and have started getting really nervous to find out if everything is okay. I don't know how I would react if things aren't okay. I just hope that everything turns out for the best.
Anyone have anything similar in their history?
Oh, and how about trapped gas? I have it up in my rib cage and it just doesn't go away.
Thanks!

I have cramping, usually mild, but right now it's pretty bad. I have no bleeding. It is scary, I don't remember it being this painful with my son, although I did spot with my son. I agree, knowing it's normal in your head, doesn't make it feel normal to your body or your heart. :o
