Ok... when I was in high school I was a size 10, so that's my "skinny" mark. When I got pregnant with DS, I was in a 14/Large so my maternity clothes are all Large/X Large (I gained 50+ pounds). After he was born, I was in 16W. Before this pregnancy, I was down to a 12, and really excited about it! By 5 weeks, I was up to a 14 again; I've been in 16's for a while. But maternity clothes look so silly! Then I realized... *large* maternity clothes look silly, *medium* ones fit! And I look pregnant, not pudgy! So I "had" to go get some maternity clothes that fit! The 16 non-maternity mostly fits, but I only had 1 pair of shorts and it's flipping hot out here still. So I got 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of capris, and 4 shirts for less than $40. =) I feel better already! So, size does matter! :)

I am so glad that you were able to find a size that fits and looks good. The just looking overweight stage is no fun at all!! I had the same realization about Large/Medium maternity clothes. I have been large or x large for so many years it was weird to try on Med. stuff and have it fit. I will probably be in large for Fall/Winter clothes. Good luck finding more clothes that fit--and hopefully look cool too!

the underwear really threw me. I have been an x-large in panties for years cause I have a big butt so I bought x-large maternity panities and they are the size of a table cloth I swear. they were in a cute little package so I couldn't tell how big they were til it was too late. the elastic around the thighs doesn't cling right either. I had a thought this morning that if I don't grow into them (hopefully not!) I can use them for burp cloths or even recieving blankets! just kidding (kind of)

Wow, how exciting to feel like you're going DOWN in size! I have the opposite problem - with my DD I started at size 8 or 10 petite, lost 10 pounds during morning sickness, and made it through all but the last couple weeks in size medium maternity even though I gained 50 lbs (had to break down and buy a larger pair of pants at the end). Now even at 4 months none of my maternity pants/skirts from pregnancy #1 fit, b/c I started out at size 14 this time! Thankfully most of the shirts fit, anyway. Luckily I have a lot of hand-me-downs from friends, and they range through every size. So I have things that fit great now and things that will fit great at the end. But I need to find a "skinny" pregnant friend like you to give my old size medium maternity pants to! :)
