Is anyone else either super hungry or gaining more weight in the second tri? I gained 5 pounds in the first trimester, but I started out 10 pounds underweight. Now, I seemed to have gained 3 pounds in the last 2 weeks! I have a hard time with weight gain to begin with, so this stuff makes me nervous :o .

Nope, I'm still losing :( But if you started out underweight you can safely gain more than average. If you are eating to appetite, I wouldn't worry about it!

I've been gaining weight quickly, also. I lost 3 pounds early on, then stayed the same through 14-15 weeks. But then the last 3+ weeks I've gained ~6 pounds. It actually doesn't seem like I'm eating much more, if any, though I'm no longer sick and vomiting. I know the baby and supporting things like the placenta have growth spurts, so it's probable that the body just "holds onto" weight really well at certain points in pregnancy.
I don't care about the preferred weight gain or the fact that I started out 10-15 pounds over what I'd love to weigh - if I'm hungry, I eat! The feeling of hunger is too reminiscent of the feelings of nausea and morning sickness not to, LOL.

I gained about 10 pounds in the first tri. I hadn't been checking on a daily basis but yesterday I hopped (okay plopped) onto the scale and I've gained another 6 mounds in about 10 days!!! :jaw
Granted it was at the end of the day but sheesh, I'm not ready for this. I found a picture of me the day after dd was born and I was almost unrecognizable I was so huge :(
I wouldn't be worried but my midwife and doula (who is a midwife too) are just now telling me that they were really worried about me and pre-eclampsia last time (apparently they talked daily about whether I was still a good candidate for a homebirth, they never mentioned how seriously they took it to me until now). So now I feel like I should somehow be watching my weight, but I can only eat so much and it is less than I would normally be eating and yet I'm packing on the pounds so fast! I don't know. I guess in answer to the OP, yes. Yes I am.

yes and I am so happy to be eating again. After the first trimester of not wanting anything except cream cheese and cucumbers I am enjoying eating everything in sight. I look in the fridge and just plan out what to make. I try not to eat junk food but I am just loving bread of all sorts right now.
