I had a brief episode of brown spotting this evening. I remember that I had the same thing with DD and freaked out. The doctor said that brown spotting is normal and not to worry about it so I'm trying to remind myself of that this time.
I'm still trying to figure out who my PCP will be for this pregnancy - either a midwife (if insurance will cover it or she'll work out an agreement with us *fingers crossed*) or an OB so I haven't made an appt. with the OB yet and I wasn't going to see my midwife for a few more weeks so there's not really anyone to call for reassurance this time so I'm turning to you guys. :) Of course, if it turns into anything more serious, I won't wait to be seen.
Anyway, I'm 5w+1 and I'm hoping that it goes away like it did with DD. Anyone else in the same boat as me?

I'm not spotting, but wondering if you are still taking temps? I'm planning on temping for the first trimester to look for a miscarriage, since I've had at least 2, probably more (happened before I knew I was preggo).

I had implantation spotting, but nothing else yet.
I did have spotting, some of it even pink/red with my last pregnancy. Scared the crap out of me, but everything was fine. It's terrible to go through.
I think it's a good sign that you're only getting brown. I wouldn't worry too much- but that's easy to say...

I am still taking my temp each morning and it was the same that it's been since i found out that I was pregnant so I'm taking that as a good sign! I took a pregnancy test this morning too and it turned positive immediately - probably within 5 seconds - so that made me happy too.
This morning there was a little brown when I wiped, but that was it. Hopefully, that will be it.

I had some, twice in this past week. Scared me too, esp. since I had a m/c recently. Yesterday I had an US at 5 wk, and saw a perfectly normal sac. I know that's no guarantee of anything, but it did make me feel a bit better. Hope it stops soon for both of us :)
Visiting from April!!! I have been spotting since I found out I was pregnant. But my little bean is doing fine. Heartbeat looked great on the Ultrasound. I also have mostly brown spotting but I had pink and bright red on a couple occasions. Best of luck May Mamas!!

I had red/brown spotting and some major cramps about a week ago. It scared the pants off of me. However baby is fine and it subsided. Phew.
I have heard that if it is brown then it is OK. Still, it doesn't make a mama feel any better you know?

i had pink spotting 2 days ago, followed by some brown...then nothing yesterday....then more pink today with nothing following.....no cramping, no pains.
it certainly makes me nervous...i didn't have this with my first pregnancy......reading that you all had spotting with no issues does make me feel a little better though :)

Visiting from the Feb board - but I had to say something! I bled for about four weeks during the first trimester and it was every color from bright red to brown. I had a few u/s to see if we could find the source and never found anything, but the baby was always fine! Then, at about 10 weeks, I stopped bleeding, but it started back up again for a few days at 14 weeks. I was so scared! It was also bright red. This time, my midwife ran some tests and found that I had a really bad yeast infection. I was asymptomatic though.
Anyway, through all of that emotional roller coaster, I found out that there are LOTS of reasons for bleeding during pregnancy - yeast infections or other vaginal infections, implantation, a low placenta, polyps, sex, etc. Usually it is nothing.
I don't want to give anyone false hope, as I've also had bleeding that led to miscarraige. But, there are reasons for bleeding that are completely normal!

Thank you all for sharing!!! It's definitely making me feel better!
The spotting is getting progressively lighter, but has still been there when I wipe. There's nothing on my undies though like there was last night so that's reassuring me too.
And it definitely helps to hear that you all have had/are having similar experiences even though I did with Lauren too. I've been trying to think positively, but it get so scary when you see that and I'm sort of a "jump to the worst conclusion" type of person (but I'm working on that!).

It's so hard, isn't it. We know we're not meant to see blood when we wipe.
I'm spotting - I spotted quite heavily until 16 weeks with my son (who is now 5). I've had 4 miscarriages since, though, so I'm worried but trying to forget about it. There's nothing I can do, kwim? I just try to stay positive. In my heart of hearts I'm not hopeful but I chase those thoughts away because I don't want any negativity hanging around, especially if I do miscarry - the guilt is always worse.
Good luck to all of us :)

Oh no, I have red blood! Not heavy, but steady. Just started when I actually got out of bed an hour ago. I was going in to have my progesterone levels checked today, but now i'm waiting for the MW clinic to call back and hopefully I can see somebody today.
I've had 2 miscarriages now, between 5 and 7 weeks, and 2 others that I'm pretty sure were very early miscarriages, even though I never got a positive test--I just had undeniable morning sickness. I never bled at all with Sariah, my only pregnancy to make it! I'm so scared!

My prayers are with all of you that are spotting. :hug I pray things are ok with your little beans. :throb I know I spotted with Rachel at about 13 weeks, freaked me out, as I thought I was over the "hump". It stopped after a couple days. Please let us know how you all are doing, we're thinking of you!!!!

Happee, I hope all is well. Were you able to see your mw today? Let us know what happens.

I did see the mw. She's sure I'm miscarrying, and I am too. The cramps got horrible and I'm passing huge clots and what is obviously uterine lining--TMI, but it's coming out in long, thick stretchy strands. It's making me so sad everytime I see it.
You know what's really sad? I was just thinking last night that I needed to get going on trying to make some cloth pads for post partum. And I thought, I'm going to do that tomorrow, just in case I miscarry (I've been worried I would, this is my 5th now, although only 3 of those are 'documented pregnancies' meaning, I had a positive test. The other 2 I just knew I was pregnant, but then got AF a few days later than usual.)
So, now I'm speedily trying to come up with a pattern and some fabric scraps to make some pads so I can stop using my husband's socks! (isn't that gross? I can't believe I just revealed that information. But I can't stand to buy any more paper pads, and my new Diva Cup just isn't working for some reason.)
Anyway, I'm way OT now, but yeah, I'm really upset about it, but I guess there's nothing I can do.

I am so sorry, Cathryn. I know there's nothing anyone can say or do to make it any better. Take good care of yourself. Try to eat and drink well even though you don't feel like it. Let other people help out with household stuff. Rest.

Cathryn, I'm so sorry. My thoughts are with you. My spotting is also getting heavier and I'm trying hard not to worry because I know there's nothing I can do. What will be will be.
Hugs to you.
I am so sorry, hapeeevraftr for the loss of your little angel. My prayers and thoughts are with you. Please, take care of yourself.

I just found out I'm pregnant, and I was spotting over the weekend, I had one day of a little pink and then brown and then two hours of bleeding on Sat., so I think I have already m/c. I had two m/c before I had my dd, and those lasted a few weeks, so its kind of weird that it was only a couple of hours, not even close to a regular period. But I'm pretty sure its gone. I hadn't even taken a test until this morning, over the weekend I kind of thought it was just my period, but over the last couple of days I am getting more tired and I feel real nausous this morning, I had a few extra test so I figured why not? It turned a real strong ++ right away, but I'm just assuming that its left over hormones.
