I am having BH contractions constantly. It started yesterday mid-day and went on until late at night. I finally fell asleep around 12:30. When i got up this morning they started up again.
Is this something that i should call the midwife about? I tried drinking more water, i already drink quite a bit of ice water throughout the day. I tried laying on my left side. Nothing seems to help.
It just feels like my stomach is rock hard constantly. :irked: I'm 17 weeks and it really is starting to make me wonder if this is going to continue the rest of the pregnancy.

It might be soemthing you'd want to mention to your MW.She might be able to give you some advice on ways to get the cramps out or even want to check you out.Its not unusual to have them this early( I read they start from conception) and if its your second baby they can be really painful.
I get them at the end of the day when I get into bed and am trying to get comfy.

I looked through my info packet from my birth center, and the only thing pertaining to contractions is to call the midwife if you have more than 5 in an hour (but this seems to be talking about preterm contractions, not specifically BH). If you seem to be having them constantly, and especially if they are keeping you up at night, go ahead and call your midwife and just see what she thinks about it. That's what she's there for!
I do recall in my last pregnancy I had them alot in the last trimester, especially in the last month of the pg...I could never really count or time them because it was hard to tell when they started and stopped - I just felt tightness alot of the time. It wasn't anything that was terribly uncomfortable or distracting or keeping me from sleeping, though, and I don't recall having them that much in the second trimester.
