1. Would this pain be in your tailbone area adn then potentially extend into a leg bone pain too?

My tailbone hurts, my right hip hurts - like right where your hip bends - and my right upper shin area hurts - like bone hurts. Strange... I wonder if this pain is what arthritis feels like - :LOL

2. If this is a sciatic problem, would I call peri and tell them?

3. I have open insurance, so I should be able to go anywhere I want doctor-wise, so should I call my insurance about the problem?

4. What are some home rememdies that you all have tried in the past to make this feel better?

Last night, I couldn't sleep because of the pain in the hip/leg area. Then, when I got out of bed, it hurt to walk. I was in a lose-lose situation.
BUT, at the same time, I swore when (if) I ever got pregnant - I'm an IFer of 15 years - , that I would never ever complain, so I feel like I'm breaking my own promise by even asking for help. But please - help guys. I need advice.

Thanks and hugs! :heartbeat

Find an obstretric physiotherapist, or a chiropractor, or something similar- and check that it is sciatica and not a misbehaving pelvic joint. What worked for me was getting baby off that side of my body- unfortunately, if you did that the other one would probably just move into position, so I doubt that'll work for you. You might find a hip support works (like a giant tubigrip all around) but talk to a professional about that as well- otherwise, it's just positive thinking and remembering those gorgeous babies... visualisation is a good thing here.
If she doesn't see this, you might want to PM Willemsmama as well.

I have sciatica, and it's in my hip-butt region (i.e. where you bend your leg, in the back), only one side, right side.

This is what helps me:

1) getting up and walking a LOT during the day, avoiding sitting around too much with my hips in the same position. Watching the picking up, twisting motions (i.e. vacuuming! oh, poor me!).

2) Prenatal yoga

3) Cold packs straight on the area, never heat. Heat makes it radiate down my entire leg. It was horrible.

4) Tylenol, if necessary for sleep. It was hurting so badly I couldn't sleep. I tried making sure I was up and about for most of the day - it stopped almost completely. I rest in the evenings, or sit for no more than 15 minutes or so at a time in the same position.

My chiropractor was amazing for this, he was able to adjust my spine to relive the pressure... it comes, ususally, from the addt'l weight of your baby. Also, definately cold packs!!! (no heat!) to reduced any swelling. Walk a lot, keep moving, try some prenatal yoga to stretch your hips and lower back. It can be very painful, and if you have open insurance, ask around for a chiropractor, for sure!
