poisoning all over. I am dying - feel like peeling my skin off - It makes me feel irritable too.

One of those times I wish I could take some medication.

Anyone got any ideas...for remedies.

I've never had poison oak, but I HAVE had my share of poison ivy... I find one thing that helps wonders is a good old fashioned cool water oatmeal bath. If you are lucky enough to live near the ocean, sea water is AMAZING for skin irritations.

I just looked up poison oak in my Family Herbal by Rosemary Gladstar. She recommends a cream made of :

1 cup green volcanic clay
water or witch hazel extract
2 tablespoons salt
peppermint essential oil

1. Mix the clay with enough water or witch hazel to make a creamy paste. Add the salt and several drops of essential oil; the paste should smell strong and feel cooling to the skin.
2. Spread the paste directly on the affected area and leave on until completely dry. To rinse off, soak a washcloth in water or witch hazel and rub gently. Be careful not to scrub the skin as you'll aggravate itching.

I haven't tried this, but it sounds great! If you do try it, let me know how it turns out!

Sorry, no ideas for you. I know that when DH had horrible poison ivy they prescribed steroids but I'm pretty sure that's not a good idea during pregnancy. You could ask, though. Right after I ovulated (and conceived but didn't know it yet) I had a bad rashy reaction to amoxicillin covering my entire body. Since we were TTC I didn't want to take the steroids the doc prescribed but finally broke down and took some of DH's Allegra 180. That seemed to help. Again, I'm not sure about its use in pregnancy but I'm sure implantation hadn't even occurred for me at that point so I was willing to use it.

Oh, and something about your user name plus this problem makes me giggle a little. :p (Sorry!)

This too shall pass... good luck!
