I have had really terrible BH contractions in addition to tons of pelvis pressure....I swear I thought I would drop a baby on the kitchen floor while cooking dinner!
I remember having them with DS#2, but a bit later....maybe 30 weeks or so.
DH took the kids upstairsto play and I'm enjoying some alone time and trying to rid of them. After eating dinner and guzzling water, the contractions are less frequent and intense, but still lots of pressure.
Anyone going through this with me?

I get lots of BH but nothing like what you're describing. Hopefully the water and rest will calm things down a bit but maybe you should put in a call to your provider if you're worried?

I've been getting them on and off. I definitely find I get them more when I'm dehydrated or when I over exert myself... sounds like you did a good thing by resting!

Me too. Sometimes I just don't know how I'll deal with this another 16 weeks (heh, now I'm counting on the c-section at 37 weeks). But as others have said... water water water.. drink more than you ever thought you could, that really does seem to calm my worst BH.

I got my first "feelable" BHs on Sunday. I was so freaked because I couldn't feel the baby. usually he is quite active, but Sunday I couldn't feel him at all. Almost went to the Dr., but after water and rest, my belly softened and baby started kicking again ;) .

My truthful answer is - I don't know. I had some gnarly indigestion which could have been BH but I really don't know what to expect or what they feel like. Whatever it was certainly wasn't painless but eased up when I lay on my side for awhile.

Drink water, lay down. :) I have them now and again, not very bad though (though I have a high pain toleranceso I'mnot a great judge). If I have more than two, Istop whatever I'mdoing and drink a big glass of water. This can be really hard with myactive little guys, especially if I'm out somewhere.

This is reassuring! I volunteer at a crisis pg center and I was carrying some things while I was there and almost immediately started contracting. They felt like the real thing--read that as HURT BAD! Well, I finished out my shopping (thankfully it was a thrift store and no one looked at me too funny when I kept sitting down on the floor! lol) When I got home I drank a bunch of water and laid down the rest of the day. I ended up having the BH's for the better part of 6 hrs! The next day I was so sore, I had to rest most of that day as well.
I tend to forget I'm pg now that I'm not sicky anymore and w/ 3 kids to tend to, I don't have the luxary of acting like a pampered pregnant princess. But I know I'm going to have to ease up and not lift stuff anymore. Of course, I have a 1 yr old who weighs at least 20# and is not walking! UGH--how I wish she'd walk!
I also believe the water is a crucial thing. I had a friend who had to go into the hospital for contractions caused by dehydration. I've always been careful since hearing her story.

I'm sorry to hear you are all going through this but comforted that it can be normal to have contractions this early on. I've been thinking that I've been having them but wasn't sure. My uterus seems to get rock hard, then I just feel tired. It isn't painful though. I never felt any pain in my uterus or front at all when I went through my 3+ days of labor with my first - it was all in my back. All I ever felt in front was tightness. I wonder if this is a sign that I will have back labor again?

Lately I've been getting really bad BH contractions after I.. uh.. strain a little too much on the potty. :o For some reason, bending over just a little bit at the sink to brush my teeth also causes contractions. They stayed around for almost an hour last night. :(

I've been having them too for a few weeks now and my friend was very alarmed by them because she'd never had them this early but my OB thought they were perfectly normal. She said the same thing that others have already said, just rest and try drinking water so they'll go away. Mine haven't had any particular pattern, various things seem to set them off, but it's good to know they're no big deal.
I'm just starting to get them - had them terrible with ds though. I'm hoping to keep these less painful and feel less stressed about them. Mine is just a slight tightening but lots of discomfort - last time it progressed to getting more rock hard later in preg. The thing I'm trying to keep in mind is that they are practice and with ds labor was pretty quick so hopefully they'll pay off again!
