My son was given a gigantic bin of tinker toys for his 3rd birthday on Saturday but has yet to be able to play with them because my husband (Photar) has been madly constructing a gigantic crane in our living room since Saturday evening. This is taking over our lives! I'm afraid the baby will get ahold of the little pieces! What shall I do??

You two are cute, you know that? :LOL
Maybe Photar will be nice and *share* the toys? I think, that at this stage in you ds development, it would be appropriate to look into setting up a dedicated play area. Perhaps with a low barrier that ds (and dh :thumb ) can climb over, but the little baby can't?

Actually, the tinker toys say, NO 0-3. And Ethan just turned 3, so depending on your interpetation, he's not old enough for tinker toys and they should all be mine!

I co opted my 3 year old DS's large building blocks to construct complex elevated curves and bridges for his train table. My DW gets upset 'cause they sometimes tumble down and frustrate DS. DS does love them though.
I told her we need to buy some more so that I can get even more elaborate w/the bridges.
On the other end, my DS bought me an orange 'daddy car' (hotwheel) that he co opted and has yet to return. I'm still looking for it!
I think your DS can have the tinker toys when he turns 4. That will give you a good year to play with them. Kids toys are great! Peace. :thumb

Have you thought of a playpen?
I'm sure Photar and the toys could fit in one. ;)

I put a tinker toy through my tonsil when I was 4. Do NOT run down the stairs with a tinker toy in your mouth. This has been a PSA, we now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Get some Lego Duplos... then they can all play nicely together :-)
No choking hazard - they are rated for 1.5 to 5 year olds. We have about 150 pounds of Duplos. And a giant Duplo house. My DH says too many. BUt :) how can we have too many Legos?
When you step on a lego with bare feet, you have too many legos!
