My allergies are driving me crazy and are just getting worse. Does anyone have any ideas for pregnancy safe allergy cures?

Go to the chiropractor and get regular adjustments!

My OB said it was ok to take some Claritan. I try to only take it when I'm totoally miserable, but it seems to be helping. I was in a vicious cycle of sneezing/stuffiness/sinus headache. Then When I'd sneeze, it would make my sinus head a million times worse. :-/

My allergies been pretty bad lately, too... I've read that during pregnancy, the respiratory tract lining receives more blood and as a result, it can be more congested... I wonder if this compounds the effect of already existing allergies. My ND/midwife told me that I could take cromolyn sodium (Nasalcrom) occasionally but to mix in a homeopathic nosespray. So far, I've mostly stayed away from both, but in the mornings, before I get up, I'm so stuffy that it wakes me up... so I might start giving in in the mornings. She also said to drink lots of water to keep things flowing, so the stuffiness doesn't create the warm/moist environment that yucky bacteria like to grow out of. Oh yeah, and NDs always talk about staying away from dairy... as it produces mucus.

I hope you start to feel better!

don't know if you're in the northeast, but a few friends of mine and I were all just wiped out on Monday 9/12 with allergies. Mine subsided gradually on Tuesday---hope yours do too with changes in weather, etc.!

My dr said I can take Claritin too! so far this week though, since Mon., I haven't needed it. Prob. avoiding dairy and keeping the fluids flushing through you is good idea too...

Good luck and my real sympathies!!

Thanks, everybody for the suggestions. I'm in the midwest, and mold and ragweed have been high lately. I'm really funny about pharmacuticals even when I'm not preg, so I don't think I would take anything like claratin unless things were REALLY bad. I've been drinking lots of water, but I'm a dairy addict, so that's setting me back. The chiropractor was a great suggestion. I haven't been for way too long. Thanks again.
