Please pray that Ive gained some weight, even a pound would be nice!! I am 17 weeks with twins, with a 2lb weight loss. I dont want to hear anymore talk about IV nutrition..........no more no more no more! Its mainly cause I cant eat very much at all. One peice of bread fills me up. I can eat like 5 bites of cereal and I am done for hours, im hungry but cant eat, and it sucks.

I have served clients having twins and it's not abnormal to not gain until after 20 weeks. A 2lb weight loss isn't anything to even concern yourself about. It sounds like your OB is way overreacting. I hope it go's ok today. my Apt. is tomorrow. I am not having twins but I lost 15 pounds so far and have just now gained 2lb. back here at 17 weeks.

Um.....I have the opposite problem. Even as sick as I was, I have gained 15lbs so far (16w). My doc fussed at me today :irked: I still don't think that I've gained an unreasonable amount of weight- I'm on target to gain 40lbs with a twin pregnancy. :down

Ok well I am back,and a little pissed off!!

Saw the NP cause my OB was out on an emergancy.

She had a hard time finding a second heartbeat, and when she did it was inches form the first one.....which I dont feel good about cause I think it was the same one.....it would explain all the movement on my left side, and lower left only if they are both over there. She had finding the heartbeats at this point in time can still be kinda hard and not to worry. Umm yeah right,how am I not supposed to worry???

Next I ask her about my urine sample....does it show anything? Cause I have been peeing and having pain.....she said its clean, but that I prolly have a yeast infection which can cause painful urination....never had that before when Ive had a yeast infection. So now she wants me to take meds to clear it up. I dont have any pther signs of one.

Then I tell her I need a refill on my Tylenol for my migraines, and she said she doesnt feel comfortable with me taking narcotics during a high risk pregnancy.....so what does she want me to do for my migraines? Sleep them off she said.

I asked her before we left about pains I am feeling, other than the uterine irritability (pains in my kidney area, and extreme sharp pains in cervix that make me double over and have to breath slowly to get through them) that I am already on terbutaline for. She responded "Your having twins. Its gunna hurt"

I cannot wait to see my OB!!! I have my ultrasound on the 29th and made an appointment with him for right afterwards the same day. I already told the lady scheduling my appointments that I refuse to see the NP again.


OPPSSS forgot to add:

IVE GAINED 5LBS!!!!!!! Yeahhhhhhh...I had my shoes on though so might be a littleless but not much!!

Its awful to have your concerns blown off like that. I wouldnt want to see them again either.
If you are really concerned, I would call and speak to your dr and explain your fears were not answered.

Boo to the NP! GOod for the wieght gain.It is so hard to eat when you either can't keep it in or just aren't feeling it.

Sorry for the NP responses, I would definetly call your doc so he can address your concerns. What the heck do we pay these people for anyway. And isn't still your choice on what meds to take for pain. I suffer from chronic migrains so I sympathize. Again, I hope your dr. will take time to ease your fears next time and you never have to see the witch again.
