I see some have mentioned that they are still looking for names so thought this would be a fun thing to do(I love names so...)maybe something will pop out for someone.

Boys

Hudson(paired with Baker)which I have seen used as a first name as well.-Well number one pick for both DF and I but it so does not work with our last name because both are the names of nearby towns...soudns like political riding.

Finn-DF vetoed
Holden-DF vetoed
Mason-DF makes the comment that he will think of a Mason jar everytime :irked:
Declan-Our last name start with a D so all D names are out
Cabot-doesn't sound nice in French
Jamison-DF vetoed
Camden-DF vetoed

Girls

Piper-Second on our girls list and we both love it but as we are only having two children(DF is making a appt. for a vascotomy as I type :irked: )
So if by chance this one was a girl we would use the first one on our list.

Blythe-people with a French accent would mispronouce it..same for many of the names on our list. We live in a French speaking province.
Davan-D last name
Lauren-Some friends also wanted to use the name if they ever have another child that is a girl and although they don't plan on it and I feel like we are having a Boy anyway they would bring it up everytime and it would annoy me also a little too popular for my taste
Poppy
Maeve
Olwyn
Bryn
Browen
Avonlea
Tamsen
Lark
Ella
Morgan
Zene
Noya
Vashti
Ula
Ember
Ivy
Kali

Most of the above are because DF vetoed it or they are too exotic for our background. :LOL

Can't wait to see the others....

Not in your club but had to post. I only have one but I thought I'd share...maybe someone can use it.

Zen (for a girl). Dh's exwife claimed it and then told it to me so I'm SOL on using it! I do love it though.

The reason I"m not using any of those names, is because dh simply doesn't like them. Pooh on him! :p

***Most of the names we aren't using because DH doesn't like them at all.
A couple don't sound good with our sons names. EX. Noelle is one choice, but our son is Noah. EX. Ashton is one choice, but our son is Asher. LOL!

Hmmm names that we *can't* use...

Hannah- my name is close to this
Violet- dd's name is Ivy.. too corny
Sienna- dd's name is Sierra.. LOL
Any names beginning with Q, good thing there aren't too many.- last name starts with Q
Names beginning with K, I LOVE K names... but they are a tounge twister when put with a Q last name. :( My favorite K name? Kali

Name we ARE using? Piper Anastasia :love

WitchyMama, I love Piper! Great choice! We can't use it because my friends daughters are Piper and Sailor.
Should've had that one on my list too!

Names we can't use:

Jack- last name is Schmidt, need I say more

Girls- Anything beginning with an A- initials would be ASS
McKenna- My really good friend just named her baby this
Tatum- Again friend has a daughter with same name
Lucy- Middle and last name would be Starr Schmidt, together it sounds like Lucifer Schmidt

We agreed on a boy's name really easily.
Girl's names were harder. I wanted:

Hannah
Anna
Naomi
Fiona
Bronwyn

But Relic hated all of those. Heh.
He wanted to name a girl:

Spire
Avalon
Sparrow

Which I vetoed right off the bat.

I say, you carry it and push it out, you get to name it. Sorry, hubbies.

I'm crashing here, but thought of something that made me laugh and wanted to share. . .

Noticed the name Rowan and I love it. In fact, both dh and I do, but with a last name of Orr. . . well. . . :LOL

Good luck, ladies! I'm scouring for names, too. Thanks for the ideas!

We're clueless for a name as of yet, but we definitely will not do Benjamin if it's a boy (last name: Downin -- I'm just not that cruel :bouncy )

Heffernhyphen, I love Owen, but we have one in our family already, so its out.
I also really love Ellis from your list, as well as Wren. I heard a little girl with that name the other day and it sounded so cute.

Saw this post on the "new posts" page; hope you don't mind me crashing your club. ;)

We both loved Hannah and Harry, but our last name begins with H, so H names are right out.

Yannick -- (pron. YA-nique) My husband vetoed this one. He doesn't approve of naming children after friends/family who've passed on, but I thought it would be a lovely tribute and I just really like the name. Maybe he'll change his mind the next time around....

Pandora -- We both liked this one a lot, but soooo many people said it would lead to tons of really bad jokes. We laughed that off, but then we met a Pandora, and she begged us not to inflict that on our child. :LOL

And Caely. I love the name Caely. But I had a cat named Caely. And I just can't name a child after a pet, no matter how lovely the name.

Mine are all girls names...I love the name Noelle and Hannah (like some other of you.) I really like McLain and my favorite is Avri. So many good names....so many vetoes by dh. **sigh**

Wren . . . I heard a little girl with that name the other day and it sounded so cute.

I love that one. It's the last name of the woman who fixed dh and me up on our blind date. :throb

I forgot another girl name I loved: Charlotte

Hi, I haven't posted in this forum yet but read here every once in a while. I am due January 10th with my 3rd child. I am still having such a hard time coming up with names, in part because of the dh veto issue!

I've been focusing mainly on boy names because I feel strong boy vibes this time around. Two boy names that I love which have been vetoed are:

Esben (pronounced ESS-ben)

Jonas

My husband and I decided on these names:

Girl: Jayda Claire (Claire was my mom's suggestion)
Boy: Elijah James

I was going to try and use one of my grandmother's names (first, middle, or maiden) but none of them seemed to flow the way I like them to. Her names were Ines (pron. Inez) and Viola.

Dahlia for a girl. I love it, but we're having a boy. If we have a girl, we'll be using it later on, but the names that we like are Phoenix and Paolo. I'm not a name hog, though, so everyone is welcome to them.

What about Violet? I think it's very pretty.

I love a lot of the old fashioned/classic names. However, dh is and OT who works with geriatric patients and once he has had a patient with a name (regardless of her demeanor) it seems to be out. DH also has an issue with names greater that 2 syllables. I don't like the names with the long e sound at the end because our last name ends that way too. We definitely can't use Phoebe because is completely rhymes with our last name and we won't use a name that starts with P because our last name does too and PP just isn't a good combo for initials. Also, because of all the news coverage (and too many syllables) I won't use the name Katrina although I do love it.

Specific vetos (see above for reasons)

Bianca (good friend used)
Eleanor
Eve
Eva (I thought that since Evelyn was 3 syl. we could do Eva Lyn instead)
Evelyn
Camilla
Camille (thought maybe 2 syl. would make this fly)
Julia (in addition to 3 syl. my mom apparantly can't pronounce this right :nut )
Samara

We aren't even looking at boy names. This is always a problem for us--except with Anna, her name came to me in a dream. Dh was SURE she was a boy and didn't put up much of a fight :)

My daughters name is Jaci (pronounced Jaycee). Sometimes people call her Jackie. But I love her name. Also Darci is pretty for a girl. ;)
