View Full Version : Pee woes

I swear I was up for an hour and a half last night because I had to pee every two minutes. Not because I ACTUALLY had to pee every two minutes, but because I kept feeling like my bladder was so full I would leak when the baby moved in a very specific way. then I'd run to the bathroom and pee a little bit and feel all cheated and go back to bed. I stayed awake worrying that if I fell asleep I'd pee the bed. I considered putting one of my daughter's prefolds in my underwear.
I've NEVER had pregnancy incontinence, not even a little, but I do have a big paranoia of pregnancy incontinence. :bag: The pressure from whatever position the baby was in was INTENSE.
Anyone else have a big fat baby head bouncing on their bladder?

Me too, it's way worse this time around. I am constantly peeing. And if I am nervous that I wont make it, it makes me have to pee even more! When I stand up from a sitting position, I always think I am going to pee myself! LOL
The other day i was trying to swallow a vitamin and i kind of choked on the vitamin, then coughed up the water then that made me pee on myself. Everything was wet. It was disgusting....but pretty funny.

My doctor mentioned that during pregnancy women are more likely to get bladder infections. I have gotten tons of UTIs in the past, and what you described sounds to me like maybe your bladder is more sensitive than normal. Maybe you want to visit your doctor and get a urine culture done, just to rule out any infection?

I knew someone would say UTI. :LOL
I've had them before, I had a period of life where I was quite prone, and this feels nothing like it. In fact, it feels like absolutely normal pregnancy pressure - the same kind I had with DD.
Also, the thing about UTI's, is that sensation doesn't instantly go away when baby moves and come back periodicially only when they move back into putting intense pressure on that magic spot.

Had the EXACT same thing happen yesterday for the first time. Alhthough I pee often and tiny amounts anyway, this was intense. While walking to work, I thought I would pee going down the street. I could feel the baby really low and I knew he(?) was on my bladder. He thankfully turned that night. I hope that this isn't a new regular occurance, because it was on the border of painful.

Try leaning way forward when you pee. Then kinda rock around from one side to another. I can often find an angle to get more pee out even when it feels like my bladder is empty after the initial tablespoon that dribbles out.

I thought I replied to this, but I don't see my message. I think I'm losing it! :nut :wink
I'm in the teeny tiny tinkle tinkle club. I'm just remembering how GREAT it felt after Cicely was born and I peed a HUGE pee for the first time. Ahhhh. I will pee again. :) In the mean time, I do what Wendy suggested -- leaning forward or I'll lift my belly. There always seems to be a little more in there if you work for it! :LOL
:hug to the incontinence suffers. :( I think it would be a great reason to wear an Organic Velour Cloth Pad. YUM! Any reason to stick something so soft next to your yoni is good for me! ;)

I feel your pain!! Not only does my bathroom seem like it has a revolving door some days now that I have this cough I am crossing my legs each time I feel it coming on! :LOL Fun stuff.

Next time you try to pee and can't maybe try putting a little peppermint oil in the toilet...works great in the immediate postpartum but I don't know exactly why?

I tried the lifting my stomach, sitting forward and rocking thing. It actually DOES really work! I can feel that my bladder empties 'more' somehow when I do this. Maybe it's just psychosomatic, but still! Thanks!
