Can someone make a recommendation?
I know there was a thread on this forum about this topic before...but now i can't find it!
I saw this brand and they look good/discreet/expensive. http://www.allnaturalmamas.com/cloth_breast_pads.asp
Any thoughts?
THANKS!!

I've never tried wool but I want to this time around. That is a great price for wool!
I had hemp ones last time but I just leaked right through them in seconds so I had to use the MOE pul backed ones when I left the house. I think I had a super milk flow though, I leaked ALOT and for a long time.
For night I just used the hemp or flannel ones cause I didnt care if I leaked. LOL

I used cotton flannel ones last time and did fine with them. Had about 8 pairs total and would go through about 2 pairs/day. The wool ones look great though! I'm thinking of buying a pair or two for this time.

With my DS I leaked through all the cotton and flannel ones that I tried. With my DD my son was still nursing and I didn't leak *too* much, but still if i was going out, the cotton and flannel didn't work. So THIS time around I have some of those Luxe nursing pads on the way to me!!!! :banana AND i'm sooo excited about it.
Luxe is actually selling some of those in a package with nipple cream as well if you're interested in ordering direct from the maker. Also, Kir, she's in Canada so I think customs might be kinder on you? http://hyenacart.com/LuxeBaby/
I've also heard that these breast pads (scroll down) with the micro are great for keeping nipples dry. Microfleece wicks moisture back into the absorbent material. Great store, too. :)

Then, there are Fuzzi Bunz breast pads. Some have the micro to wick moisture and then others also have a PUL back to keep your shirt dry if you're leaking a lot. I'm tempted to try the 2nd kind. :) I'm not really familiar with this site, jsut the first one I found.

I've ordered two pairs of these: http://www.zannadu.com/shop/customer/product.php?productid=16219&cat=335&page=1
I've heard nothing but amazing things about them! They came in the mail, larger than I expected, but soooooo soft!

I was thinking about getting these hemp terrycloth (http://www.mom-and-me-creations.com/ClothMom.html) but those LANA wool pads look nice, too.
Any suggestions about what size/shape to get? One website claimed that the larger pads show up less through your shirt than smaller ones. And what's up with pear-shaped ones - how exactly would you position them in the bra?

I just heard from a client about "Lilypads". THey are reusable but not made of cloth...they are some sort of soft plastic type material? or something. I haven't seen them yet but this client was just raving about them. Disadvantage: plastic ('ll confirm the real name of the material when I can). Advantage: no leaking, washable. By the way they are available to order at www.milkface.com
Anyone else heard of these?

Oooh, yes, I actually met the inventor at a LLL conference. TOtally cool! :thumb
I'd try those, too! :LOL Heck, I guess I'd try every pad out there!!! :LOL
i'm going to get them all! I can delay (a little) on getting these b/c my parents are coming from US right around the expected due date....so i'm thinking they can make it with this stuff. with twins nursing non-stop at the beginning, i suspect my last concern will be whether i leak when going out in public. hahaha! I'm glad to know there are so many awesome brands. Disposables look like a TERRIBLE idea!

I bought Lily Pads with my last baby and they were horrible! I wouldn't exactly say I leaked (sometimes I did though), but the main problem was that the milk would puddle in the pad which was adhered to my breast. So when you go to remove it, it was a big ol' mess!!! I would use them with other pads though to "catch" the mess.
For non disposables, I've used cotton (hated them). So this time I ordered the MOE ones that Desiree likes. I also ordered 2 pairs of Lana wool pads. Never used either of these, but I've heard good things so I figured I will try them out.
I also like to keep disposables on hand in case my cloth ones were dirty or drying. I really liked the Lansinoh ones. I bought more dispoables this time too- just in case all my new ones don't work out for me for some reason- but I am really optimistic about the wool pads!!!

So does there seem to be a consensus that wool pads outperform hemp ones?

i'm allergic to wool so i can't use those. :(
the variety rivals that of cloth diapers....i thought i had figured it all out with CD-ing, and now this!!!
I think i'm just going to add a pair on to every CD order i make, and try out some brands that way. It does sound like wool is a good choice, if you're not allergic or anti wool. But does it get hot? I'm not putting wool on babies, b/c it's too hot here...so on me? is that a good idea?

Kir a lot of people here actually prefer wool covers in summer time because they seem to breathe more than PUL. So, how better to test that out yourself other than by trying some wool pads? Might as well give it a go if you have the funds to try it out.
A wonderful WAHM just gifted me a pair of wool pads. They are super soft! Wow! I think I'm going to like them! :D

IHMHO, the wool pads are far superior to anything else I have tried. And I tried everything except the plastic ones. The wool never leaked and were always comfortable. I like the original ones from Danish Wool (they have a new line too that I have not tried yet). last time I used the minis, but this time I ordered some Smalls which have better breast coverage.

Disposables - well they are disposable (environmentally a bad choice) plus they either squish up or swim about in your bra.
Cloth - always leak when your flow is powerful in the beginning, get cold when wet.
Wool - THE BEST! Never leak, are soft and body temperature (never hot or cold), easy to wash by hand. They seem expensive but are a good investment. Just don't stick them in the washer as they can mysteriously disappear...
