Hi All - last time around i drank Nettles religioulsy in 2nd & 3rd Tri for Circulation & Vit k . I swear that it is the reason that I had NO problem with my hemeroids at all!!!! :thumb BUT this time i am having a hard time drinking it even when I combine it with RRL TEA. Do you think that a tincture daily ( sans alcohol) would be as good? Or maybe I am mixing the teas wrong. When I infuse the RRL & Nettles seperate & then mix them together they get really cloudy & green kinda & taste yucky to me. Should I not do 1/2 & 1/2 ?
Sorry for the sentence fragments & spelling, I am exhausted!!!! :nut
TIA!

i do half and half of nettle and RRL, but i also mix red clover, oatstraw, alfalfa and rose hips.. maybe addidng a few other herbs would make it taste nicer, and its all good for you too :)

im not sure about tincture.. i imagine it would be okay.

What would you make your tincture with? Or would you just buy it?
IMO, rrl and nettle together taste absolutely disgusting unless you add something else, so I alternate them. I don't see any reason why you couldn't just use a tincture, or even use cooked nettles as a foodstuff (especially as we're coming into soup season) but I think your best option would be to blend them before infusing, preferably with something else.
Of course, if you can't get nettles down, maybe it's happening for a reason and your body's telling you that that's not the right thing for you to be eating atm...

I buy an organic Mama Tea (Yogi Tea, I think it's called) and it has RRL and nettle, as well as peppermint and other stuff. It's quite delightful! I don't know if that would help you at all.

One thing I was curious about though - can RRL cause early contractions? I've only been drinking it about every other day because I don't want it to cause pre-term labor or something.

Thanks Mamas :thumb I'll try some of your suggestions! As far as the RRL & contractions Amy, It is a uteran strenghtener & shouldn't cause contractions. Susan Weed - "Wise Woman Herbal for the child bearing Year" Claims that it is gold, and has no hestitation for drinking throughout pregnancy! ( my MW too) .
By the way - this is a wonderful book for pre/& post pregnancy as well! IMO :D

I drink the equivalent of 2-3 cups a day and have been since the beginning of the 2nd trimester and havent had any contractions. In fact, I barely think I am having BH.

I drink the Yogi Mom-To-Be tea (with Rasp Leaf and nettles, etc) already in it. I have been drinking about three cups or more daily over the past few days.

I take nettle in capsul form. That way you don't have to taste it. I drink RRL & Alfalfa tea as well. I have also been taking Dandelion Tinticure for my liver. The baby is still kicking. I am pretty sure that the alchohol in it is so small that it probably doesn't bother the baby. Some of the Pregnancy Tea mixtures are pretty cool because it is already mixed for you, all you have to do is make your cup of tea and you don't have to worry about it being cloudy!

Like MamaFern I am making a huge blend of nettle, RRL, alfalfa, oatstraw, rose hips, spearmint. I went to a bulk herb place and got it all blended dry, now I just throw it in a big jar and brew it in big batches. I don't have any problem with cloudiness. It usually tastes pretty good unless I forget it for a long time, and then it gets really strong, so I just dilute or sweeten it.
